    Spent a couple days in Krakow. I explore the Old Town and Main Square.
    Although the concentration camp is within Poland it was constructed by Hitler and his Nazi. In fact many countries neighboring Berlin had concentration camps run by German Nazis, such as in the countries of: the Czech Republic, France, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland which held the death camps.
    Krakow is about 1 hour drive to Auschwitz, so I did an organized tour there.

    I recommend Legendy Polskie Smok Wawelski, a short movie telling contemporary version of the Wawelski Dragon Legend, that can be found on youtube.

    Why did you choose this time of year, it's a terrible time for tourism, it's wet, cold and cloudy -brrr. When it comes to the historical beginnings of Krakow, you mentioned the official date and the unofficial one - BC. You created an atmosphere of horror in this park, yes, at this time of year you may feel that way, but in the summer, when all the trees are green and have leaves, it is cozy and charming. eye Around the old part of Krakow, in the former moat, there is now a park surrounding it, it is the residents' favorite park, providing respite, greenery and coolness in the summer, and it is safe even at night - people walk even at night. Polish food may not be as exquisite as French food, but it is much tastier and fresh, and Polish cakes are great. I see that you were in an extermination camp, even though I am Polish, I have never been there and I don't want to be there. I would feel like I was walking on the remains of millions of people murdered there, because people's ashes were scattered on the ground and every Pole and child knows what kind of camp it is.

      About the horror in the park it is my editing & a bit silly....Also where I am from Wisconsin is cold and has its eerie days (:
      I live in China and the time I went is a holiday Chinese New Year so I was able to travel for a couple of weeks, that is why I went during this time.
      Thanks for sharing some facts about yourself, I am also part polish 25%. I also understand why you would not want to go and is also why it is only shared a little in my video...I hope people can go and learn and not have history repeated.

    Would be nice if you made it clear in the title that you visited a German concentration camp that was set up in the German occupied Poland. Otherwise people see Krakow, Poland and concentration camp in the title and they assume it was Poland who built it and is responsible for it.

    • @bryttnielee
      @bryttnielee  3 місяці тому +5

      Thank your for your suggestion, I appreciate it. I changed the title and adding more information regrading the European countries that had Nazi run concentration camps in them as well to better inform viewers.

      @@bryttnielee Germans, not mystical nazis. Aushwitz - its german name, before war there were miliraty barracks here and very important railway. In first days of German occupations of Poland, Aushwitz has been set as prison for polish which germans wanted to erase first. Then Aushwitz was getting bigger and bigger. Poles, Jews, gipsies.
      Poland during IIWW lost over 6mln citizizens 3mln polish people, 3mln polish jews and other minorites. After Jews, in exteremination queue were polish people. YOu can read it in goebbels diaries.

      Poland "asked" the austrian painter to start WWII, Im israelite and I know first hand the role of eastern European nations during the war. Generally sephardic rabbis will speak about it. I'm also sephardic so I have no issue in telling that Poland was directly involved in the pogroms. From Poland came the western liberal feminist ideology and the kkk in america, its all same origin, ukraine, poland lithuana, Hungary.

    I'm not sure if you know the movie director R. Polanski
    "Polanski's Polish Jewish parents moved the family from his birthplace in Paris back to Kraków in 1937.[4] Two years later, the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany started World War II, and the family found themselves trapped in the Kraków Ghetto. After his mother and father were taken in raids, Polanski spent his formative years in foster homes, surviving the Holocaust by adopting a false identity and concealing his Jewish heritage"
    WIKIPEDIA
    His traumatic experience in the overcrowded Krakow Ghetto deeply influenced his movies.

      Why don't you say it directly, he was hidden and fed by a Polish family, which was punishable by death, and so were his roommates in the staircase, because the Germans thought they must have known, so they were complicit in not reporting it. Only in Poland there was the death penalty for hiding Jews.
