What homeschool road-trips are really like!

- Vlogmas Day 1! Even though I was so sick, I knew I still had to take the children here to kickstart the holiday season. Part of homeschooling for me is the flexibility to travel - so whenever we can get up and go, I want to do it.
In today's video we head out to meet some family members for a camping/hiking trip to Utah (Zion National Park). Before we left I just grabbed some books on Zion, Utah, and African American heroes of the West. I would have loved to plan a whole unit, but I wasn't feeling well. It still worked out because Zion has the Jr Ranger program, so between the books and the program, they learned a lot!
I also go over how to correct a child who makes mistakes while reading in this video.
Finally we get to our destination!

Seeing your girls hiking brought back a fond memory from my childhood - One's dolly must not miss out on the adventure...especially an American girl doll.
