Wallpaper Engine Shimmer Effect 1. Paint the place where you want the shimmer effect to be with the pulse effect, colour red is advised as it is easier to see. 2. Once the area is painted, export the pulse effect to your computer and name it “ShimmerMask” (or something similar). 3. Next import the “Beam” image from the wallpaper engine folder into the edit space by dragging it in and resize the scale to 10 on X and Y. 4. In the “Beam” image, under assets, add the effect called “Scroll” and change the Speed X from 0.4-0.7. 5. Next, under the same “Beam” image, add the effect called “Transform” and change the direction of the beam to whatever direction you want the pulse to be. 6. Hide the beam effect, go back to the wallpaper engine files and drag in the ShimmerMask image. 7. Change the scale of the ShimmerMask to fit the size of the wallpaper (either 2 or 4 on X and Y). 8. Change the origin of the X and Y to X:3840 and Y:2160. 9. Add the effect “Blend” under the ShimmerMask image and under blend, drag the beam effect under assets into the blend texture box under “Blend” effect in ShimmerMask. 10. Also add the “Blur” effect under ShimmerMask and slide the scale to the lowest it can go. 11. Back under the wallpaper settings, add the effect “Blend” and under the Blend effect, drag the ShimmerMask and put it into the Blend Texture box. 12. In the same blend effect as step 11, go to blend mode and enable “Linear Dodge”. 13. Make sure both the ShimmerMask and Beam images are hidden under assets. 14. The colour can be changed by going into ShimmerMask and changing the colour there. 15. Under Beam the speed can be altered under the “Scroll” effect as well.
