How to brew beer

- So today let’s make some beer! Beer brewing can be a super-intensive process, so I have chosen this very simple style 1-gallon all-grain brew in a bag IPA as a recipe to make this as easy as possible. The recipe I am going to make is for a smaller quantity, something manageable if you just want to try to make beer for the first time. The total amount of time should take 6 hours to make, with an additional 2 weeks of fermentation. This beer is nice and smooth, and honestly was one of the best beers I have ever made.
If this is your first time, brewing beer is a total rabbit hole of terminology, equipment, and techniques. I am really aiming to make this process as simple as possible, showing only one method for making beer. Really this is what I wished I had when I first started making beer, something short sweet, and not overly complicated… well hopefully.
Alright! Let’s jump into it!

Being a professional brewer for over 15 years I was surprised by how carefully and accurately he explained the whole process. Clean and good
I'm 3 years pro and UK based so I love how everything is converted to metric. So many recipe videos I have to pause and find an online calculator to measure out my stuff
Much appreciation from a metric person

I'm sure if I had said "in cauca" or "in queretaro" you would have needed me to specify that cauca is in colombia and queretaro is in mexico.
Believe it or not most people dont live in usa

This guy’s a genius. No doubt
How is it that video’s like these don’t get attention they deserve? I love these videos, they really help me by showing how to make different food products!
Very digestible video. For bottling I'd reccomend getting a bottling wand, and attaching it to the spigot on the bottling bucket with only an inch or 2 or tubing. It makes bottling waaaaaay easier and faster.
dude, you're awesome! :D
I LOVE that you are dedicated to teaching!! Something so so rare! (You making this super in depth and consumable/least threatening tutorial; make the samely helpful blogpost, and get the app made to make following along as easy as possible!
Mate I really hope the algorithm picks you up couple more times :)
Well done, I hope to use this on my next batch. Thanks for the help!
As someone who is just starting to get into brewing myself this is a very easy well thought out and explained video Thank you
This is wicked cool, thanks man!
Appreciate, Must be Amazing amount of work making this video
I'm not a drinker but I do really enjoyed your videos. Just relaxing and enjoyable. Kudos!
I loved the video! I just had one issue. It's really easy to get dough balls if you dunk the bag with the grain in the water and don't stir. Putting in the bag first and mixing in the grains helps efficiency.
I like the simple intro
Commenting for the algorithm, love your channel 👍🏼
Whoa a few days ago I was just thinking about "Hmm i wonder if that Flavor Lab guy has made any new videos" and a few days later here you are!
During last years lockdown I re-started to brew my own beer.
I bought a £12 beer kit in a can that makes 40 pints [23 litres]
A fermenting bucket, air-lock, tap and sanitiser [all for just over £10]
5 weeks later I was enjoying a pint of Nut Brown Ale that had cost me 50p
Why make life complicated by going the all-grain method?
This all grain method using a bag is not that much more difficult than extract. I started as an extract brewer, but it is so much more satisfying to really start from the grains. Starting from the extract feels like making cake from a pre-made box, it is just not the real thing.
This was a really good video
Thanks!
pot - always get a pot triple the capacity of your intended brew. you WILL drink more than you intend to, so a bigger pot will allow you to brew more. bottle conditioning takes more than 1 week, 2 weeks to condition to get to a nice clear crisp smooth mellowed aroma. i basically leave my beer for 4 weeks for beer with low beta acid hops, and 8 weeks for beer with high beta acid. if it is high abv, i will just chuck it aside for months. so brew more so that you are not impatient to try on new beer. stock more
Awesome voice!!
I remember the first time I brewed beer, we put the yeast into the boiling wort, that was a waste. :P
For your comment about the yeast in the bottle, it's recommended to always drink beer from a glass anyway, and poor it vigorously, because you want to release the carbonation from the beer before you swallow it, so you don't fill up your stomach with carbonated liquid. Especially if you eat it with a snack which will start releasing the carbonation quickly inside your stomach
Nice.
I like this video
you need a place where the temp is about 72- 76 deg f. where the temp dose not change by more than 2 degree's while fermenting unless your making ale. Ale is fermented at 65-68 degrees f. It is critical that you have a place for the beer where the temp will not change for a month or the entire time you are fermenting!
What size was your brew bag?
How much finished product was created per batch? (How many beer bottles did you fill) they look like 330ml. Thank you
Just asking, for mead, I assume we replace the mort thingy with honey water?
I've been making mead for almost 2 years. Honey water, yeast (i use distiller's yeast) and any fruit or juice you wanna use to flavor it
This channel also has covered how to make honey mead: ua-cam.com/video/VTudpZD3uLo/v-deo.html
out of curiosity, where are you from?
Me, who hates how beer tastes: no... no look i HAVE to know. I NEED . TO KNOW
If beer was really this easy to make at home nobody would ever pay 3$ for 1 beer at the liquor store
...but it is

"this easy to make at home"
> ridiculously complicated process requiring specialized tools and ingredients, multiple steps, and multiple chances for things to go wrong, mess up your stove, or even cause serious injury
I think you and I define "easy" in slightly different ways
But why is the color a bit too dark??🤔😅😅......I like the golden brown
