I have watched this video many times over the years and you are right on the money when you call this amazing. Gosh it has been 8 years since but in my opinion this is what I call “the thunderstorm video for the ages”
The sky was yellow right before this storm hit and the air was so thick, loved it, so much thunder and lightning in a thirty minute window once it came off the channel and the hit the coast, it was outstanding, they called it a supercell at the time.
Man! It opened up at around 7:45 then closed back up in the left ear at 7:54. It wasn't much, but it was during those thunder crashes one right after the other, and it was bloody marvelous! It's practically wide open in the right ear, too, and I wondered if something was wrong with the headphones, but they're working.
You got some fantastic footage here (and the people yelling 'whoa!!' really made me laugh! It was an immense storm - never seen anything like it before! Not sure where you are - looks like maybe Poole? We're over in Ensbury Park and it was amazing from over here! Although your view of it looks much better than ours! Loved every second.
Thank's for uploading. Beatiful, i love the atmosphere during these storms, well, while being cosy inside, me superman. I don't recommend watching people with epilepsie this beautiful nature event.
Is that a powerflash around the 4:46? Look closely, just after the strike you see a faint flash clearly coming from the ground. And btw... that lightning strike at 5:01 was very close! (Just like many others) Nice lightning!
Amazing footage. We rarely get lightning and thunder in the Californian desert. When we do, we stand outside like MORONS admiring nature's fireworks. Good job.
Oh no. You've got the microphone covered up on both sides. That's why the sound isn't as crisp as it should be. (I heard you cover them as you hung outside the window right at the beginning. I hope it gets better during the video, because I love the full sound. It's like I'm listening to it with blankets over my ears, even with the headphones on. The left ear is more covered upp than the right ear.
Okay, it's more open at 1:42 in the rightear. I hear a much crisper sound in the right ear, and my ears are clean. (I guess I should also explain that I'm also totally blind, so I use my ears like you would use your eyes.)
+Tatyhana Sanchez I think the quality is very good, I don't have any apple products, but that's a whole other story, which could spark a completely different debate.

stunning lightning display. those prodigious lightning producers like that are pretty rare. great footage. cheers from USA
excellent video, thank you. I had just finished work when this hit and I was waiting for my cab home under a massive metal parasol lol
i love thunderstorms and severe weather, and i fondly miss the monsoon storms in Arizona.

Great catch. Very fast moving storm I see. Supercells aka mesocyclones are awesome.
Great lightning footage! Well done
Do you have balls of steel? I would've been hiding if I'd witnessed that! We had storms too up in the North East but nothing like that. Amazing video!
That's what is called a real summer storm. July is the perfect month for these.
