I was having issues with Midi and I just happened to click on the first thing on UA-cam and there you were! Thank you so much for your explanation, especially summarizing towards the end!
I've been using drum machines since the early 80's....,this "new" Logic Pro X software based drum machine is so powerful that you need a background in programming to operate it....,that said, we now have UA-cam based tutorials at our beck and call....,thanks to Jono, we have good technician/teachers offering free tutorials. I am new to Logic and have a wide interest in drum machines (a 40 yr habit) - I am using tutorials like this AND the Logic Pro users guides (Apple Books) to learn all the drummer related capabilities offered in Logic Pro X. Take it from me, you have to start this learning curve with the gusto of a Phd candidate - many of the important details are buried in pages of general discussion. This video, is a good starting point...,it's an overview, yes, bookmark it and come back to it....,the learning curve is steep at the beginning...,stay the course.
I've used FL for years and just decided to buy Logic. However, using it is like a foreign language to me. This tutorial helped more than you could ever know!
You're most welcome, Trevor. If you're getting started with Logic, we have another 50+ tutorials in the playlist in the video description. Subscribe for new tutorials every Friday :) Thanks for supporting the channel!
Is there no way to load your own samples from your own sample library and flick through samples from there? Like if i wanted my folder of kicks to be easily selectable on a pad? Feels like I still need to buy NI battery to get a better workflow
Arrgh, Jono what have you done! I've always been a closet drummer and if I ever get to grips with this all hell will be let loose 🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕 As always a brilliant session and hey! On your desk is a bit of hardware with some slider controls, what is that used for? Being quite new to Logic, is it something that I may need in the future?
Mr. Buchanan amazing tutorial!! After you do your own Drum Kit it is possible to export each sample of the kit like a one shot sample? If yes can you give a tip please? Thanks ;)
When you created your Drum track and opened the mixer, there was 30+ faders all with plug ins and sends, the CPU usage much be tremendous, as this was only drums?, can you delete the rest not in use from the Drum stack?
Have you come across anybody who's converted the 149+ NI Battery kits to Logic DMD? I know the Battery plugin works within Logic, but I'd prefer to have everything in DMD.
Hi Jono. Could you audition different samples (scrolling down with the arrow keys) from the Logic browser (F) WHILE PLAYBACK - just to hear if the one sample fits better to the kick or the snare in the Drum Machine Designer? I can scroll through the sounds with the arrow keys, but I can hear them all only when I stop the playback, otherwise I can hear one the first I do click on. Is this right?
brilliant tutorial Jono but to Logic's designers I'd say there are just too many options here. Big danger that instead of making music you end up with tech paralysis, micro-sculpting every sound

Great video, thanks. Is there a way to take a kit designed with Drum Machine Designer, and use it in Logic's Drummer + Drum Kit Designer?
Fantastic video thanks. Just wondering, can I add, say, a snare drum from the Logic Drummer acoustic kids into the same window.
Thank you. I truly learn a lot from your tutorial video
Thanks so much for this. All of the manuals are so behind the drum software evolutions.😀
Thanks! I just switched to LPX and needed this question answered quickly and simply, nailed it!

What would be the best controller for Logic if budget is not an issue but space is?

when creating from an empty kit, how do you assign parameters for pad controls when loading your own drum
samples?
How to export these samples as individual audio files for STEMS?
