- We have been asking for years for a feature like this for years and Cricut has finally come through. This new Create Layers is for Cricut Access members only you can join here cricut.pxf.io/QyDJxA
Create Layers is going to allow you to take images and designs and create layered projects to use to cut with vinyl, HTV, Cardstock and so much more!
As of publishing of this video May 1st 2024 you need to use the Beta version of Design Space to have access to this new feature on desktop.
This video will go over how to use this new feature with both a PNG and a photo and we will complete a photo project to see how well it works.

Corrine thank you for taking the time to show us this new feature!
As always, I loved watching your video. Cute dog by the way!
Thank you!
Thank you for this great video👏👏👏
Thank you for doing a video on this!
How about putting it in a picture frame? 😊
I have found that when you layer all these layers of htv that they fall off after a few washes. I'd probably use this on none apparel. Looks
like a lot of work. Thanks for sharing.
This isn't HTV. Its vinyl. Its not meant to be washed so it will be fine. I would never ever layer this many layers of HTV.
That was super cool. If you deleted some layers would you get a good product?
It would be less detailed but it may still look ok. Its just going to depend on the image you use
Doggie looks pretty cool, but yeah, thick! Did you give any thought to colors you used or just random? And then trying to stack them at the end...it seems like you did the top layers first? I haven't done much layering...it confuses me.
Yes I tried to match the colors that design space used because if I didn’t the picture wouldn’t look the same. And yes start with the top most layer when layering. I have lots of videos that can guide you with layering
Corinne i don’t pay for design space. But I was wondering if you have a video on how to take a photo of a dog and turn it into an svg to just cut it out on black vinyl? I have seen others that have done it. I have tried background remover then used other svg converters but it doesn’t seem to work. Sometimes it gets rid of spots where the dog is white etc. Any ideas? Thanks for your tutorials love them
Yes I do :) ua-cam.com/video/9BiJ-jp2_cg/v-deo.htmlsi=w9aCJWur-yPPAE60
Why not uses cardstock and do a shadow box. that what I thought it was for. Thank you for the video cause mine didn't work. thank you again
It’s not for just one way to make something and because cardstock would have been an absolute nightmare. All the pieces are not connected so doing it with cardstock would have meant I had to line up a million little pieces one at a time.
Obviously i am not going to pay out for Cricut Access, so i assume there will eventually be an online tool that will do this for free (if there isnt already) up to a certain amount of layers, and anything over that amount must be paid for.
You can do this for free right in design space honestly you just have to do it manually but it works better and is cleaner than this
Yes they have a free programs online that does the same thing. Now just like this cricut version each layer tends to have what I call dirt, weird dots in places. The ones online also have extra layers you may not need. I first hide the extra layers that I don't think I need. If it's to my liking I delete the junk layers. 🤷🏽♀️ I hope that helps.
Cricut holds the new content for ransom. It's not appropriate. Fair enough if you want to use their graphics, become a member. However, basic design features that improve the software capabilities should not be limited to access members. This is one thing that Brother Scan n Cut have over Cricut. Yes, the SNC also has specialist features that you need to buy an access code for, however, the basic software has all these features in-built, and even the specialist features, you only pay for once and then own them forever.
