These are definitely GREAT bikes, but I would suggest getting a 3.92 gallon tank like they have on the 98's or getting a rear rack with a small tank for extra miles. I have the 98 RMX250, and it delivers everything I want and more. I recently slapped an RM rear fender on it and took it to the track and was hanging with the 450's! If they retain the same class suspension, than you shouldn't worry about bottoming out, I threw my bike off a 65ft table top and it handled it beautifully.

@jpmbtt well i have a 2009 rmz450 and a 2010 rmx450 in the garage and the rmx is alot nicer in the tight stuff in the forest and the electric start is brilliant,it delivers the power differently and has a lower 1-2-3 and higher 4-5 gears.not as easy to stall in the real tight stuff and dont need to clutch it as much.more power doesnt mean better for everything

take the restictors out and you get much further on a tank of fuel

Id bet my life you have never taken an RMX on the casual trail riding you do with your friends. You love the RMZ, that's fine, but don't try to convince people the motocrosser is better on casual trails than the RMX. I have an RMX450 2011 model deristricted with Yoshi tune, and it has more power than you would ever need. I weigh 91Kg without gear, and this bike has a HUGE amount of power from its fuel injected donk. THe gearing of the RMX is made for trail riding, the RMZ is for the track.

The RMX also has 25% more cooling capacity. You trying to tell me this doesn't help on muddy slow going trails? I know for a fact, the RMZ is know for its heating issues, not such an issue when up and running at speed on a track, but everywhere else it is an issue, even being held up on the start line. THe RMX is no good on trails unless your racing enduro but the motocrosser is??? How did you get to this conclusion? It makes no sense at all. Its clear you are just hating on the RMX.

@brandonvanvuuren1 well it depends...are you just gonna be trail riding with friends and stuff (thats what i do)..and believe me... the rmz 450 will handle mostly anything better than the rmz450z because it has more power and torque..i mean yes its a slight amount harder...but believe me its well worth it.

@fatdrood no way dude... i mean yeah i know its a good bike... but the rmz 450 can do anything that bike can do plus more.( i now ride a 2 stroke though so id suggest on of those :)

thanks for replying! im going to be using my bike for both, so do you think the rmx will be able to hit the track every now and again? Im probably going to get the rmx, it depends on if it can go on the track though, but i like the fact that you can make it road legal :)
