This will help improve my punches! I like how you demonstrated an open hand variation to the exercises, which will help improve my palm strikes as well. Great tips and content!

I've been training Kyokushin. There we learned to have straight shoulders.
Not to get powerful punches but to get controlled punches.
In kyokushin kumite, there are very short distances between each other. So not much room for mostly anything extra.

when i punch i use my soldiers for toque but i do not over extend. I make sure the my CHEST is the primary STATIC POWER and my shoulders generate the motion/ TOURCHE.

It's hard to see your punch movement, because the starting position of your hands is out of the frame.
Another important point is, that your albow should be directly behind your fist (kyokushin)

Isn't there a less known method of Okinawan punching where the body doesn't rotate but moves into a center of gravity outside the actual body? I don't know how they extend their arm in the punch differently than people in other areas. If you know about the technical aspects of Okinawan punching please do a tutorial of how to execute the Okinawan punch;!

Can you answer this question please? I prefer to use 2 knuckle contact but in jack dempseies book he says the line of power is landing with your ring finger. Does genetics play a role because naturally i punch with the ring finger but i defenitly prefer the 2 knuckle contact after training.

Nagano Sensei, what about the feet, the stance? I was taught that (in kihon) both feet must be completely attached to the ground at the time of the kime. But in kumite footage we can almost always see punches being delivered without what would be considered good stance, often the foot of the back leg is lifted, sometimes it is completely in the air. Can you please comment / explain this? Thank you very much.
