This video is just right in time since i cant sleep and i havent worked out all day yet, thanks Yusuke -sensei, looking forward on karate kick tutorial, stay safe!
So thankful that you are still making content, I know the community is small but it is beautiful. I hope you continue to make videos like this and more in the future. I am not sure you know how much they help me get through these hard days.
This will help improve my punches! I like how you demonstrated an open hand variation to the exercises, which will help improve my palm strikes as well. Great tips and content!
Sensei I want to learn karate and u r the best person to teach. I admire your videos. Can you pls let me know if you do any online programs. Step by step instructions for karate. I want to learn the original okinawan based martial art.
exactly what was taught to us when i joined a shotokan club 4 decades ago. but i only lasted for about two years. now i feel gasping for breath doing even a simple push up.
Hello! I really like your video, could you make a video about relaxation during the performance of the katа, and how to breathe properly during the katа! Thank you🙂
Thank you , Sensei. Could you please add a breathing component to the punching technique? I. e . when to breathe in, moment of exhaling and relaxing after the punch .
I've been training Kyokushin. There we learned to have straight shoulders. Not to get powerful punches but to get controlled punches. In kyokushin kumite, there are very short distances between each other. So not much room for mostly anything extra.
when i punch i use my soldiers for toque but i do not over extend. I make sure the my CHEST is the primary STATIC POWER and my shoulders generate the motion/ TOURCHE.
It's hard to see your punch movement, because the starting position of your hands is out of the frame. Another important point is, that your albow should be directly behind your fist (kyokushin)
Nice video. I see a lot of your first (punching with the arms only) version in taekwondo beginners. How does karate treat punching power originating in the feet, rotating through the hips etc?
He is hurting his elbow because his arm goes too straight while punching All the strength stuck in the elbow instead of reaching up to the kento. (wrist)
Isn't there a less known method of Okinawan punching where the body doesn't rotate but moves into a center of gravity outside the actual body? I don't know how they extend their arm in the punch differently than people in other areas. If you know about the technical aspects of Okinawan punching please do a tutorial of how to execute the Okinawan punch;!
Can you answer this question please? I prefer to use 2 knuckle contact but in jack dempseies book he says the line of power is landing with your ring finger. Does genetics play a role because naturally i punch with the ring finger but i defenitly prefer the 2 knuckle contact after training.
Nagano Sensei, what about the feet, the stance? I was taught that (in kihon) both feet must be completely attached to the ground at the time of the kime. But in kumite footage we can almost always see punches being delivered without what would be considered good stance, often the foot of the back leg is lifted, sometimes it is completely in the air. Can you please comment / explain this? Thank you very much.
This channel is quickly becoming one of the best channels on Karate I know! Thank you so much for sharing your knowlegde! Oss!
Thanks! I hope your karate friends will like it too!

Learn to always hit a target area. There are many but to just name a few solar plexus, ribs and the liver.

Yusuke-san, did your practice in Okinawa at all change how you think about punching?
Do we have to stiif your arm at last second of the punch or not?
Yes! But relax right after that!

Hi can i send you a video? What isbyour e mail?
He does not have enough experience. Roll your shoulders back and lock the chest, dont just push them back. I can go on and on.
I don't think you have covered anything about how a punch should be. I think you are yet to learn the secret of punch to teach the secret of a punch
