- In a fiery message, Patrick said he reached out to Hidalgo several times ahead of Hurricane Beryl making landfall, where in the final message he alleges she said simply, “We’re good.”

There's only limited resources and they need to know which areas need those resources, what kind of aids, and where to send it. If Harris County says they do not need assistance, why would the state send assistance there instead of other counties that need it?

I know their grid doesn’t have good reviews but in all honesty we went for 2 weeks+ after a hurricane in our state..it’s difficult to get infrastructure back up and running with such a vast area of destruction.

I wish these communications could be published. Put the whole truth out there. Due to her personal health issues she has, IMO, not been on the news giving any press conferences nearly as often as she used to. From what I've read, she won't meet with Mayor Whitmire. She is an elected official who is suppose to support Harris County. If these comments are true from DP, then she needs to immediately be removed from office. Harris County needs assistance and she allegedly turned down every offer made to her. Why? What lame excuse is she going to come up with this time? I've never been a fan of LH or even the DA. But for LH to come out and strongly support the individual who beat the DA in the primary, I feel sorry for him. He indicated he was going to get the case involving LH's employee's moved to another County. If they have nothing to hide, there shouldn't be a need to move that case to another County. Mayor Whitmire, Hildalgo and CenterPoint failed All Texas citizens in the path of Beryl. Mayor should have had a crisis management meeting with a checklist for readiness prior to Beryl arriving on land. With all the media coverage there is no reason our issues with CenterPoint should have escalated to desperation for power.

Born and raised in Harris County and have known the politics were usually corrupt. Also know we used to get power back faster than in recent years. Not a great fan of Dan Patrick but I heard him saying it was unexceptable that some many were still without power a couple days ago. Not sure who is at fault but I think he is trying to do right and our electric companies should put more money into service than ads for multiple supplier.

In Texas, the county administrator is elected and called a "judge"; they are not involved in judicial procedures. There are precinct judges and then the county judge. They are elected by different constituencies and often oppose each other diametrically. Hidalgo is the worst county judge for Harris County (Houston) we have ever had.
