    Thank you so much for this pattern I just love it. And what a bonus to find out about the weighing of the yarn to help with measurements. I have never seen that before so clever.

    Jess, after many failed attempts trying to follow patterns I decided to try to follow your tutorial for the Triangular Scarf. I am so excited I am at row 22 and I think the scarf if coming along beautifully. I know I have a ways to go before completion but I think I'm on my way with this pattern and I just wanted to thank you for your effort in posting the pattern and the tutorial for extreme beginners like me. God Bless

    Thank you for the tutorial. I appreciate the written, drawn and video tutorial. I am a visual learner and written instructions confuse me. I can’t wait to make one of these. A Curious Cuttlefish made one of these and Iinked to your blog.

    Very cool pattern and very well explained. Easy and fast, it takes only one evening to complete. Also yarn saving, I got a small scarf from only two 50g skeins (finally found good use for this leftover). I am now about to make the 4th scarf and it is probaby not the last one 😊

    Love the desert Winds pattern. Can you suggest a version for men and colored yarn that's soft but wearable in Summer. I would like to make them for my brothers. Or just any tweaks you have to make sure its masculine enough. Thank you.😀

    I made the large scarf with mandala yarn and it’s lovely but I ran out of yarn 😭 I used a larger hook, I’m making another one with the hook you recommended

  • @beadedwindsocks
    @beadedwindsocks 6 років тому +5

    Isn’t this the same pattern used for the Desert Winds Triangle scarf, using Caron cakes and an H/8 hook?

    • @makedocrew1717
      @makedocrew1717  6 років тому +8

      Yup! This is the version I modified to for Mandala yarn specifically. Many people requested a video tutorial for the Desert Winds scarf, so now there's a tutorial that teaches all the techniques, but people can also know how many rows/stitches to work whether they have Caron Cakes or Mandala to work with. :)

    I'm in the process of making this scarf. I'm using the same brand of yarn and same hook size. The pattern said I would only need one ball of yarn for the large scarf but I ran out of yarn not too far into the decrease rounds. Now I'm on my second ball. I followed the pattern exactly. Why is mine turning out so much bigger? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

    hey - I can't quite tell in the video, are you only going through the front/back loop? i have been going through both. this is my first crochet project and i had heard there were some cases where one might only go through one loop; I don't want to get further in the project if i'll have to frog because of that!

    I'm a bit late finding this pattern, but I am enjoying it! If anyone happens to see this, did you wet/steam block this scarf? I'm considering steam blocking mine, but i thought I'd ask for opinions. Thanks😊

    I bought expensive hand-dyed yarn. The weight is fingering. Using this pattern, what size do you think I'll end up with? What size hook should I use? TY

    Soooo following the directions to the T doing 40 increase rows then doing the decrease made this scarf WAY bigger then the one the model is wearing not only that but it took one and a half balls. I don’t understand why this video recommends a 4mm hook the yarn was much too think for that hook.

      I'm sorry to hear that. Hmm, have you measured your gauge and compared it to the gauge listed in the pattern? It sounds like something is def off based on how much yarn it took. I'm guessing either your gauge is working up a bit looser than the pattern or there's an issue somewhere in how many increases are being worked. Did your scarf basically match the shape of the one in the video?
