It was a nude camp. Nude and weed. They used to put Christmas lights going across the creek. pretty awesome. If you are planning to come back and you still has hard liquor just dig some sand and bury it. We came back and had our liquor still intact and cold.
Wonderful comparisons of the hot springs and the natural beauty Southern California has to offer. Just wanted to let people know that the Deep Creek Hot Springs are only 1.75 miles from the Deep Creek Hot Springs Campground trail head(3.5 miles round trip), which is the same property as the Bowen Ranch property that most people have hiked from and camped at since 1924, NOT to be confused with the old shack cabin entrance & parking on the neighboring Moss Mill property that used to have access to the Bowen Ranch property but is now a mile further of a hike. The Campground trailhead is definitely the easiest hike and 1/2 the distance from Bradford ridge.
What you may also add to your video is from Bowen ranch when I was there is that I'd hiked fully nude, besides I was wearing my hiking shoes. In and out. So clothing is optional to and from Bowen ranch and the trail is part of the Pacific Crest trail head as well. Best wishes here in Flagstaff AZ!!
Deep creek actually has a cold pool to swim in. The small pools are the hot ones, the large pool is cold. Also, you have to pay per person to park at bowden ranch.

You used to be able to camp at Remington before it was blasted on social media. Miracle hot springs isn't a thing anymore. The Forest Service destroyed the tubs. The exponential increase in visitation and the influx of people who trash the places is the reason. This is why it's always a bad idea to post anything about those places online. I'm afraid the cat is out of the bag now, and I fear that the result will be the same for all those places. They will either get shut down or the use is going to be greatly restricted.
Thats hard to say its depends on your taste. But i would say during the cooler months because during the summer the hot springs and the heat can get hot really fast.
We go in winter in BC Canada. But be prepared. Water temps. in hot springs are the same year around for each spring, as the source comes up thousands of feet below ground in most cases. So most in BC are ABOVE 104 F. so winter is really the best time. Plus you have the place often to yourself.

Last 1/2 mile straight down over granite w loose sand ( which = 1/2 mile straight up that on return). Made us feel like we are bosses!!! The hot springs were so incredible, so so so incredible!!! I'm still processing how awesome it was. Hiking back under Moonlight with snow falling- wow wow wow. My darn phone battery died after the first 1/4 mile- lame- lame didn't have any video for such amazing opportunities - have to go back now to get pics lol
I've visited deep Creek 11 years ago, there were more nudists (locals) there... Then came back before covid 2019. The locals moved on, but fewer nudists (mostly nude college girls) NAU, ASU, and a few San Diego state University... Regards here in Flagstaff Arizona! 😊
Can’t believe dogs are brought to these pristine places-Ca leads the nation in animal waste-20%of water pollution is caused by dogs. If I was chillin in a hot spring to relax and some random dog goes swimming by-that’s a Huge deal breaker &distraction
