Nope , just that he knows that some of her claims are flat out lies . I mean NK is bad but some of the things she says like people pushing train is just BS
As a daughter of a woman who is both North and South Korean I have heard so many stories. My mother passed away when I was only 17, but I recall the fear in her voice and tears that were shed on a constant basis. Sadly I discredited her memories and often viewed her as someone that was simply exaggerating. Truth is, this was beyond my comprehension. Therefore, I disregarded it, “out of sight, out of mind”. This breaks my heart on a whole other level and I am truly embarrassed for allowing my ignorance for so long. Unfortunately, it’s too late for her to feel believed by someone who meant the most to her. I just wish I could hug her.
I think the CCP is totally wrong when they use Falun Gong people for body organs. I told this story to my mom and my was quickly told me that it is impossible. I kept trying to convince her every now and then. The situation relates your disbelief of your mom. My mom could not imagine that it could that bad.
You remind me of people who don't believe rape victims. Just because you can't "comprehend" the situation, doesn't mean it didn't happen. Trust me, horrible things happen to people around the world on a minute-by-minute basis. If you really want to honor your late mother, why don't you get involved in helping victims of heinous crimes. Become a doctor and dedicate yourself to helping others around the world thru Doctors Without Borders. Start an organization that helps and assists refugees from North Korea seeking freedom and a new life in another nation. Use your "embarrassment" to make a difference for the better in this world. Don't wish for something that you can't have, actually do something that honors her memory that makes a difference.

@@SecondOpinionUSA The irony. I simply pointed out facts, albeit ones that you clearly don't like or wish to accept. I guess she does not take things for granted and will remain suspicious of any government that rules over her. Living in Germany, with its special history, I witnessed what happened here during Covid. Governments need to be controlled by the citizens much more active than we have done so in the West. Knowing this I too remain cautious and have trust issues with most of the authorities.
You're correct. Until I traveled the world, I didn't have a clue either. Most people don't have the money and will never travel like I've gotten to. I understand that. But I wouldn't lie about that. The rest of the world is so much different in comparison. We really have itmade here. People openly get on social media and talk bad about the government daily and it's just free speech here. Yeonmi Park is a name everyone should know. She is incredibly brave, the "dear leader" lets everyone starve while he sends his minions to fly to France for cognac and McDonalds. He went to school in Switzerland so he knows how society should work, his sister may be worse than him.
It's very easy to do my friend. Until I joined the military and got to travel, I had no clue. I would get mad when I was a kid because my parents wouldn't buy me things that my friends had. That's laughable now. Our freedom gives us the illusion that we have problems that we really don't have here. We argue about the silliest things in America as I'm sure you're aware. The fact that western democracies simply allow marxists to exist and operate freely in their society Is absurd to me, specially in face of stories like this one. The mere existance of iorganizations like the DSA and personalities like Hasanabi are, at least for me, the irrefutable evidence that americans don't value what they have, while also dooming themselves to eventually losing everything. She’s a fraud, it’s well documented. Her story has changed every year. When her and her mom were in South Korea they were on a show where defectors are interviewed. Her mom said on the show that Yeonmi was too young to remember anything about North Korea and that they lived privileged lives there. Think about is, she said North Koreans are so hungry that there are bodies floating in the river, which is laughable in itself, why would there be bodies floating in the river? If North Koreans are so emaciated to the point that you can see their organs, how exactly are they pushing a train across the country?? A team of bodybuilders couldn’t do that. This so worse than “WMD”, it’s so obviously propaganda.
because she is trained that way. Honestly what she is doing isn't wrong, but she is a propped actor for nato and a PR tool against North korea propaganda, but her story has so many holes and things that are so unreal... Like she hiked across the desert from north korea to Mongolia at night during winter? It is -50 to -80 there. Most American cant find that place on a map and she takes advantage of that. She tell her escape story that even navy seals couldn't do on their own, but a starved unhealthy north Korean girl did? Come on... Koreans are known for making things up. North or south doesn't matter they lie and make shit up all the time and make them selves look better then everyone else.... Once you pick that up about their culture... I mean it goes back to Perry... Koreans sunk an american explore/battle ship and killled on the Korean shores call the sailors who sought help over a 100 years ago... The fed government sent ships looking for them and there was wreckage and proof and they lied about not knowing anything about it and even made stuff up. Just llo at who she is married too and that korean show she was on and the NGO that aims are countering north korean propaganda and mission is to discredit north korea. I think it was a vice or BBC doc. What she is paid to say is neither true or untrue. It's just propaganda. I honest I don't care for propagandists any way they work.. Propaganda is dangerous. Instead of her I rather have a honest convo about north korea and what trump did was better then just doing this combative stuff which only drags us into conflict in the long run and war is just so stupid now that we could end up making one mistake and destroy our selves... Just look at Libya and what happened to Europe right afterwards. Now Europe is like a second north Africa. These wars are causing all the is chaos we see in our world. She is the same type propagandist tool that got us in war in Iraq twice funded by the same people too. propaganda leads to more bad outcomes, but the only people who benefit from it is the 1%. Just be careful and don't buy into it.
The next time I feel like complaining, I’ll remind myself of this conversation and stay silent, realizing how blessed I truly am. I hope she fully heals soon, and I hope the leaders of the world would do something about the situation in her country.
Traumatized people are perfectly happy despite their pasts. They’ve been through the worst things… so they’re hyper aware of when things are happy and positive. Don’t assume that she’s unhappy because of the trauma she’s been through. That’s rude. I was raped almost my entire childhood and I’ve had people say this to me. It’s offensive to infer that she’s unhappy. 😊

She hears you.❤❤
I think the CCP is totally wrong when they use Falun Gong people for body organs.

When you literally have to put on a show like you're having fun at a carnival whenever "tourists" show up (at a park you aren't allowed to even see otherwise) there's no way it doesn't at least cross your mind. Not like they can do anything about it though...
first five minutes and this interview has been very insightful. A reminder that some people have it worse, be thankful always. Great guest
This episode ------- will make me wake up 100000000000000000000000x more grateful every day. Needed to see this. Can't stop crying.
Thank you so much ! Yeonmi you are so well spoken 🎀
This was one of the best, gnarliest, entertaining episodes ever. My mind is blown! This woman is so brave.
Every time Joe Rogan said WOW!!! And take a deep breath I feel exactly the same way!!! After I hear all the story of this pretty woman actually i believe is a miracle she actually talking on this video!!!
Read her book and it was one of the most captivating stories I've read. Never finished a book faster.
I'd never heard of Yeonmi Park before, I saw a short video about her book somewhere. She's AMAZING. It's incredible how much she's been through but she's still out there fighting. I did a google search of Yeonmi Park there are those who think badly if her but I don't listen... I never will.
Shame on the UN! This brave woman deserves protection!!
The U.N is the world government and the plan is to make everywhere into china. covid was a test run to see how much further they had to go.
Shame on trump who loves Kim.
@@TheNukitehe doesn’t love Kim. You must have a small brain. Talk is the first step to change. How can you convince an oppressed population of people that they’re trapped? They BELIEVE they are the only race of people, of actual human beings. They believe that Kim is their god. Literally their god. So taking on Kim would put those ppl in panic and they’d fight to defend their god.
That North Korean leader sure hasn't been looking for bugs to eat . He's never missed a meal in his life.
The truth is stranger than fiction.
She’s a propagandist, her pockets are being lined with money from right wing think tanks. “Sometimes they have to push the train” lol, if they’re so malnourished how the heII are they supposed to push the train? Why would there be bodies floating in the river? Why would there be piles of bodies at the train station? This is on par with the anti-Iraq propaganda the government pushed in 1991 and again in 2003.
“The North Koreans are so emaciated that you can see their organs, there are bodies floating down the river and piled up at the train station”.
“The train has no electricity so sometimes they have to push the train.”…….🤦♂️
A team of roided-up bodybuilders couldn’t push a train. Do you mean to tell me North Koreans who are starving to death are somehow strong enough to push the train? 😂🤣😂
You guys are naive.

Indeed.

She works for the Koch brothers. Look into it, she has been caught changing her story many times over.
I read her book and was listening to speeches or podcasts. It is a disturbing and shocking story. She is so brave to speak up and share.
What's disturbing is how gullible you are

@Shadoufang like anyone is going to believe some brown guy named Shadoufang. 😂
Thanks sooo much Joe! This has to be one of the top 3 best interviews I’ve seen ever!
I am from China and from the city of Jinzhou, where Yeonmi Park once lived. I express my sorrow for the experiences Yeonmi Park went through in Jinzhou, and I apologize for the persecution she faced from the locals. I bought Yeonmi Park’s book and finished it in tears. I admire her for what she endured and congratulate her on ultimately gaining her freedom. The progress of civilization takes time, but the North Korean people will surely achieve freedom one day
Thank you Joe for having these conversations. Keep doing stuff like this. I hope you'll invite her again to discuss a current events.
I heard similar stories before about north Korea. But hearing from Yeonmi Park, who were a first hand witness, were both horrific and heartbreaking. Thanks for coming on Joe Rogan's show and let us know. Hope the world will change one day for a brighter future. Regards from Denmark.
Glad to finally watch full episode
Its on Spotify for free, for years! / But im glad i came across it again, its worth listening to it more times. I was annoyed by her booby shirt at first, before i realized those saved her life. There are more people with her story but most didnt survive.
Extremely powerful interview about Humanity and state humans around the world.
She is so incredible. I pray for you Yeonmi. Keep bringing light to the darkness of the world. Thank you Joe for having her on.
Wow...I'm speechless.
Same with me

Only 20 mins in and I can’t even wrap my head around this shit 🤯😢
An eye-opening and humbling experiencing from watching this video. Yeomi is an exceptionally brave human being that deserves to have her story told, and I am glad Joe has given her the platform to do so.
Wow. That's one powerful interview. Definitely worthwhile watching all the way through.
Glad it's on UA-cam now I remember searching for it and didn't found it had to watch it on an other website
The fact there are Communists are saying she's an absolute liar for speaking out about the horrors she went through as a child in the DPRK is just appalling and shows how blind they are to the atrocities of the *Juche Monarchy*
no dude she's like a straight up liar in every regard.
Wow, that’s a powerful episode. Best episode to date. This would have to be the most emotional and powerful podcast I have watched. Glued to the screen. Many thanks to Yeomni for sharing her story!
This shouldn't be happening in the world. This is pure evil, and should not be tolerated. We should come together as a country and do something.

This talk took a breath from my chest. It's so horrible and inspiring in the same time. Thank you for this podcast. Greetings from Poland.
Listening to Yeomni's story changed my entire perspective on life. What she described going through taught me that I am incredibly lucky and blessed to have the life I have. All my ordinary problems seemed like absolute nothing compared to what she's been through and what people in NK are experiencing right now. Can't wait to buy and read her book. Her story should be taught in schools so this ever happens anywhere else in the world.
Her book was amazing, it was crazy to read what someone can go through
What’s the name of her book? Does she have multiple?
Terrence Howards book on math is Amazing too!!!!!!🤣
I thought my life was hard in America….. I AM SO WRONG…now I’m very grateful for living in this country and appreciate America. Also I love how Joe Rogan sighs of disbeliefs every 5 minutes😅
I first heard this woman with Jordan Peterson. Her story is sobering, eye opening and hard to hear. It’s important to hear though! For all of its faults, America is so much better than many places. Her stories of how students are being brain washed in universities was startling but I believe her.
Sobering and very awakening, to how fortunate we are, no I never went to bed hungry or ate rats, this reduced me to tears hearing this. If anything I learned a lot.
America still has its evils and how messed up Korea is makes me feel nothing but sorry that we don't have our sh together so we can't help more even if we wanted to. I'm glad I got luckier but it doesn't change how I feel about alot of our problems at home. Theres always someone worse off tho so yes, it is good remain grateful.
@@drewhempwood2113 Her problems will soon be your problems, don't delude yourself. If you haven't smelled the stench moving your way in the last 10 years... you've been sleeping.
She lied about mostly everything. Just look it up and see what her family thinks about all the lies she tells. Am I defending NK? No. Am I defending honesty? Yes. She went through some bad stuff and decided to profit off her story, but let it get to her head. Look up what her sister has to say about all the things she says.
The irony is that these lies are blatantly obvious not true. Yet you believe in it. That makes you more brainwashed than North Koreans
gut wrenching....thank you both for your service.
