I am happy u tuber make the Malay food review, truly Malaysia.. most utuber dont know the hidden gems of Malaysian food. You do it right 🎉👏🏻👍🏻 p/s: we eat the salad with rice, just like kimchi 😂 😂
The two kerabu (mango & bean sprout salad) are the two dishes that I must have when I go to Minah's. I think the "spinach" dish is sweet potato leaves. Also another must have for me. Sotong and prawns are usually more expensive anywhere. One word to describe eating at Minah's......heavenly.
@250Loy must try dishes at malay nasi campur 1-beef curry with bamboo shoot (not many restaurant know how to make it rite..) 2.ikan pekasam (fermented fish-taste sour...but its gud with da rice.. 3.ayam sambal (the spicy one..not ayam masak merah which is tend to be sweet..also not many restaurant hv it)
Well i do eat sotong like that to when i was a kids.. and because you like the stuffed sotong i think you Should look for "sotong sumbat" 😅😅 there are to many Malay variety dishes.. even the veggies which we called "ulam-ulaman" are considered a healthy meals because mostly it consist all the chosen herb (which a lot of different varieties even some Malay doesn't know what it is called different states mean different ulam) that with health benefits. There are two types the mild version which is the typical Herb veggies (the young leaf of that chosen plants) and also the hardcore version.. which is the typical petai, jering and kerdas. That are eaten fresh to give the umami and also mild the spicy taste. (Because my late grandma always ask me to eat that "ulam" each time i complain the food it too spicy.. and yes it help a bit and making me more tolerance to spicy food)
Wow so good info👍👍 Yea Malay food has so many varieties and petai for me bit hardcore😅 even I like and eat quite well all kinds Malay food. Cant wait explore more Malay dishes! Yummmm😋
@@250Loy number one rules when eating the hardcore ulam-ulaman.. just take the tiny bites of it and scoops the food and rice that you choose or vise versa.. because sometimes people choose to scoops the food first inside theirs mouth and then they take the tiny bite of that hardcore ulam-ulaman. For me Petai is the lowest level among the hardcore ulam-ulaman and the second is jering and the first one is kerdas. If your husband like eating squid that way, then maybe he'd like to try Ketupat Sotong, squid filled with sticky rice.
Oh! “ketupt sotong” we must try that! Thank you so much😋
Have 2 version Ketupat Sotong.1 version savory from Terengganu state. 2 version is a sweet, likes dessert from Kelatan state.
You must try pulut sotong
Where can i get pulut sotong? 😁
This place is not bad, but you can consider trying out Syazana Nasi Melayu at Times Square 😉

Sambal belacan is a dipping sauce, never drizzle it like a salad dressing if you don't want to burn your mouth and throat. It's very acidic and spicy.
Thanks for the comment :) Their sambal belacan was very nice👍👍
The spicy sauce / sambal should be eaten with rice so that it won't be too spicy.
Yea yea! Sambal bleancan goes well with rice indeed!
👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you~ 👍❤️☺️

those twig like stems in the dish comes with tapioca leaves...not sweet potato leaves.
