- Had a gentleman from Slovenia send me some 123 gr Fox bullets to do a high and low velocity ballistics gel test.
Over all not terrible performance, definitely need a fare bit of velocity to make sure they will perform.
Hornady GMX, Nosler E-Tip, and Barnes TTSX and TSX all perform better at low velocity.
we run it in 6.5creed, 7mm-08 and 308. awesome bullet at the right speed. deep penetration, extremely good expand and gives safe shoulder shoots. gel is to soft for it, even with the wood in front. no game for the last year has taken a step after that bullet hits them.

Ther are 2 tipes of fox munition 1 for fox and birds, and 2 for big geim that expands sory for bad english.
If that bullet is designed to hunt fox then I’d say it’s an excellent bullet. That is if your keeping the pelt ......minimal hole in and on exit.
These bullets are designed for all tip of hunt not only fox!!!
do you have some load data for the or is this factory ammo? what oal did you use?
I did not work up a load for these, I based my load on the available data in that grain weight for monolithic bullets.
That bullet looks pretty big for 123 gr. Did you weigh it? Is it lead?
Yes I did, every one of them and they were within 0.2 grains of each other. Definitely 123 gr and they are lead free copper bullets.
Its an mono copper bullet, hits like a bulldozer. gel aint good for it, to soft even with that wood in front. designed for shoulder shots to be safe, it crush bones as toothpicks and destroy all internals with low meet destruction
The Fox is not copper, like Barnes tsx for example... It is brass....
Your velocities are about 1,000 fps too slow for a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle. The bullets are not designed to expand at those velocities.
Stick with high velocity loads.
The test was to see how low can you go and them still function (2000+ fps minimum) and what kind of damage they do at higher velocities. The high velocity round was a little faster then 2900 fps on impact. So yes a 2300 fps to 2900 fps on impact would be a good range of effectiveness with these bullets.
If one was to use these bullets in a 6.5 Creedmoor I would suggest moving them as fast as you can safely and accurately and limiting your range to a velocity loss dropping no less then 2200 fps.
There's sport hunting for meat then there's harvesting meat by shooting. l would rather stake 10 miles are more and hunt a animal than shot one from 1000yards even though I can shot a 1000 yards . I would not go to a bird drive I would rather watch my dog work and bag a couple of birds.
