Really looking forward to checking this route out this year. Just getting back in after a couple years off after a big spill and surgery to fix my bones lmao My nukey is screaming at me to get out
Another great video, I rode this a couple of weeks ago after coming down Sail and was blind the same as you. I followed your previous video and headed down Stoneycroft last week and I might get some abuse but think I enjoyed that decent better than Rigg Beck although it was a shorter. Keep the great clips coming fella.
Cheers 👍 I think I might actually agree with you in that regard, I think this one makes for a better video for some reason but I did like the speed of Stoneycroft 🤙
I'm sure it's fun to ride but it looks like it falls a million miles short of the loops in Torridon which have so much varied types of descent in them, some with huge boulder paths, other are super tight with deep drops on turns etc... The views in Torridon are also spectacular. Again, not to knock something that does look fun.
I'm on your side there, I'm yet to ride Torridon but definitely want to when we're able to get up there again. From what I've seen I imagine it'll soar to the top of my favourite rides list haha!
Thanks for the great vid! I've been eying this one up for a while now. Its length seems to be the strong point, there's not a whole lot of long single track with no gates in the lakes. Definitely not the best in the UK but maybe the lakes? It could make a good video series.
Glad you enjoyed! It's worth a visit that's for sure, like you say it did just seem to keep going! I've got so much more in The Lakes and further afield that I need to check out before I could really judge how good it is in comparison, but I do like that series idea. I'll have to look for more ride suggestions 👍
Enjoyed this one. It defintely looked like a good descent, however the best descent is a very competitive category indeed given the wonderful variety across the UK. Speak soon mate 🤙
Thanks mate! It was a pretty fun descent but I think weirdly it looks better on video than how it felt to ride, maybe just because I was very focused on staying on the trail which you don't have to think about while watching the footage!
Yeah this was right in the middle of a bone dry spell of weather, I think you're right there 👍 Would be faster anyway having some sort of memory of the route too!
Another top video dude. That does look fun, those shale single tracks can be haaard 😳 your always waiting for the front wheel too wash out. You rode it well blind. Do you always record in 60fps, your vids are always super smooth. Keep up the good work. Stay safe. 🤙🏴
Thanks man 🤙 Was pretty hard to read the trail and know what was coming up! I actually record in 24fps (for nerdy film reasons and to match my other cameras) but export in 60fps as UA-cam doesn't seem to compress it as badly 👍
Nice one, thanks for this! The Strava link is also super helpful. I'm sure I used to be able to take a gpx from there, is that now a premium feature only?
A few of us rode rigg beck on Tuesday night thought it was a good single track you should of went straight on where you turned off for a bit of technical stuff we finished off and done Barrow fell which was really good
Done Barrow a good few times, pretty fun one too! I did think of carrying on that was but time was getting on a little, will probably extend it a little next time I get up there 👊
Nice natural single-track to ride but not the best i would imagine many better in Wales and Scotland. On par with Minton Batch and Porlock Combe i would say but slightly longer
Extended version of the route here: ridewithgps.com/routes/6157819 Best to be safe and respect the terrain. It's not a trail centre where your generally no more than a few hundred meters from a fire road. Nice Route and thanks for the vid showing it.
Rode the linked route on Sunday and it's the reverse (Anticlockwise). Along the Lake.. up Newlands towards Keswick .. down Newlands.. then climb the decent you came down. Going up that decent wasn't fun. The decent in the other direction is actually pretty good though but a bit more Narrow than the other way.. to really get some speed up. Some really fun bits though that I'm glad i wasn't coming up. So yeah i'd say do the above route but do Rigg Beck and Newlands Clockwise same as you did.
Absolutely wonderful video. Great looking trail. Cheers. Stoozer. 🤠
Great video was looking at this trail after I'd seen a few similar claims. Handy having the Strava link thanks.
Good video bro, keep it up. Nice to see a mntn biker in the Lake District putting out high quality videos.
Thanks mate, really appreciate that. I don't know why there aren't more people putting out lakes vids!
There are 😂

Such good quality videos Keep it up 🤙🏻🔥
Thanks man 👊🤙

Brilliant video, looks like an amazing ride.
Wicked trail, great riding ✌❤

Couldn’t agree more mate, Torridon bike park top of my list.

Dude, you were flyin down that 🤣
Got to take me here when I next come up 🔥🔥
That can be arranged 🤙
Need to try this
it looks ace! sweet video mate
Thanks mate 👊👍
Looks good, i'll have to get up there
Worth an explore, a bunch of good routes up that way 👍

You should ride that again when it’s a bit more wet. I reckon it would actually be more grippy and faster
Yeah this was right in the middle of a bone dry spell of weather, I think you're right there 👍 Would be faster anyway having some sort of memory of the route too!
District Mountain Biker yeah for sure🤙🏼

District Mountain Biker nice. Thanks for the tip. I’ll have to try that out. 🤙🤙
I can’t believe that was your first time down Rigg Beck.... your Dad will have ridden it dozens of times 😆👍
I know! So many rides I just haven't got around to doing, I've definitely been missing out!
The second part looked way better with the flow and hardpack underground, I don't know I would want to ride the first part haha
I think it looks worse on camera haha but after getting more familiar with the trail I'm sure it could be ridden pretty fast the whole way down!
@@DistrictMountainBiker Mostly the camera shows it less worse and steep!
That is a really nice trail.
Nice one, thanks for this! The Strava link is also super helpful. I'm sure I used to be able to take a gpx from there, is that now a premium feature only?
I can still download a gpx from Strava on a computer, but I've got premium so not entirely sure
The Lake District is amazing...... My District (the Peak) is almost as nice, almost 🤣Beautiful trails, great riding. Subbed.
Great descent and in the running for best in England but the whole of the UK??? I think not. Torridon, Ranger path, Morvich etc etc
Best singletrack in the UK? Nah! People just click baiting this one hahaha. Great video tho pal!
Haha yeah I figured! Think I joined in on the clickbait too 😏 Cheers mate 👍
District Mountain Biker don’t get me wrong it’s a good trail and well worth riding. Just not the best 😂
This looks amazing, do you have the GPX file? Is it on strava?
There's a link in the description. Be sure to avoid peak times 👍
@@DistrictMountainBiker Awesome cheers. Yeah we're lakes locals, so we know the crack. Be a good evening ride. 🤙

wooohoo new vid :)
Cheers dude! 🤙
Top video mate🤘Perhaps I need to re-title my video...😂
Oh dayum... 😂 I think your video may actually have been one of the ones I watched! 🤭
@@DistrictMountainBiker lol.. maybe UK was a bit ambitious.. perhaps just the Lake District...🤘
@@MTBLakes There were a fair few videos making the claim haha, it is a pretty good route though 👊🤙
how is the magura brake?
Finally got the back lever on now too haha, way more bite than the shimanos which I prefer 👍
whats up with your breaks ?
The mt5 caliper isn't compatible with my frame so I was running my old brake on the back for a little bit while I got something sorted 👍
Simple answer No, it' very average IMHO, nicely done vid 👍
What do you think is the best singletrack in the UK?
Make sure to tick this one off
Nice natural single-track to ride but not the best i would imagine many better in Wales and Scotland. On par with Minton Batch and Porlock Combe i would say but slightly longer
Yeah I agree, lots of Wales and Scotland I've still got to explore!

Nice Route and thanks for the vid showing it.
Looks like a decent way to extend the ride, will have to check that out some time 👍 Thanks for sharing!

Well got to say no...its not the best single track in the uk, average on a rating scale but an enjoyable run down nonetheless.
I see its a footpath not a bridleway, therefore not a legal right of way for riding. Discus........
