He actually sounds a lot like Alastair Sim, who was a Scottish actor from the mid-twentieth century. Similar voice timbre and even a similar-sounding (to my American ear) accent.

The character is of mixed race (Vietnamese-French), so it is equally valid for an Asian actor to play him as it is for a European actor. I hope this eases your concerns.

Jon Jon Briones worked behind the scenes when the auditions were being held in Manila so why didn’t the panel even considered him for the part? Because, Cameron doesn’t want anyone but Jonathan to portray the part, end of argument.

She deserves to see a person whose actual Asian playing an Asian part (even if he was suppose to be Vietnamese- fence) rather than the whitest dude ever, using tape to slant his eyes....I don't care how much the director wanted him, it's not ok.
