It cracks me up every time she dives in their to find the toy she wants haha! This girl is very particular!
When we gave our puppy her first bath, she screamed and hated it, and it brought me to tears 😭 Her 2nd bath we did it in the sink instead of the bathtub and she did much better!
Yes do it in the sink as well good idea!

Celebration PlayxPlay - Aw, Penny is such a cute nose nibbler. Oooo...classy bag! Sweet Trooper! Jeter has so much to see. Everywhere you turn, it looks like a party! The trailer for Godmothered looked really cute, I look forward to watching it. "Excuse me, good sir, my dish appears to be empty.", says Penny.

The holiday lights are so cool. Bento is so good. I had it for dinner yesterday in Jacksonville. Penny is adorable. Can’t wait to see her grow up.

We use a licking spot for our dog. Its like a magnet on the tub, we put peanut butter dollops on it and while she is licking peanut butter, we can get her bathed. Iys a distraction method.

My MinPin Roxy would put up with a bath if there was something nonslip on the bottom of the tub, and if I let her put her front paws up on the edge of the tub. She never loved her baths, but as she got used to them, she was calmer. Also, I can recommend the Buddy Belt for small dogs, they’re made of leather, and hold up very well (once they break in, they also seem pretty comfy). They have a floral print right now that would look so adorable on Penny.

OMG I also have been dealing with puppy-days, Meeko loves biting everything in site as well! hahahah I am waiting to buy Meeko a full hardness and collar from WildOne, I've loved them since I first found them for Charlie last year! the lights at Jeater Bend were amazing!!!! imagine a whole neighborhood being on the same page about christmas lighting and a show! The festival of Fantasy was a MOMENT. - Anferne

Anything new for our pups can be scary. But they take their cues from you, so be confident, use your happy voices and words during bath time and she will eventually be used to it! Bathe her more frequently to make it more normal. Our doggo enjoys his bath and blowout now!

Try to give Penny a bath at least once a week to get her used to it. Lots of praise and her favorite treats during and after so she looks forward to bath time. Also a trick is peanut butter on the tub/shower wall or sink for her to lick off to distract her. We raise Great Danes and we start giving them bathes and trimming nails very early...nails every week from the day they're born and bath from 4 weeks on about once a week or more if needed. She's adorable!
This is all wonderful advice - thank you so much! We used the peanut butter trick which seemed to be a welcome distraction for Penny and she went for her first nail trim last weekend. She did great!
Honestly no dog likes bathing. It’s normal. All you can do is make it kinda fun by using a blow dryer or something. And I believe they act out a bit afterwards, it will happen depending on the dog. And don’t use the tub. For a dog that small use a fairly deep sink with a sprayer attachment. It’s easier to control that way. Use an anti-flea shampoo as they are a serious issue in Florida, and use an itch prevention shampoo. Once a month use those flea drop things squirt a little on and run it down the spine, you cannot touch the dog for eight hours after but at least less fleas for a month. Part of being a responsible dog owner. A harness should be fitted in the store, go down to petsmart and start with the smallest size they have then work up from there. Usually that works, try to find a Velcro harness that does the full wrap around as those nylon strap things will break after some time. They use those elastic band things that hug the body and give BMI heads better control. Just remember the leash/lead hooks go to the front with the collar in there.

I have a Bichon Frise, she is about 1 year old and i will tell you it isn't easy. Bichon's HATE water. The only advice I can offer is to establish a routine with her. I bathe my Bichon once a week. Also get her used to the blow drier. It just takes time. Also get her used to touching her nails. Play with her paws, touch in between her toes, get her very used to it.
try pennut butter on the side of the bath so she lick it as u wash her. Postive renforcement.
Really great advice! We did this over the weekend and it worked a charm (though we may have overdone the peanut butter lol). We'll share in our next vlog!
