Exploring the margins of the Greenland Ice Sheet - The far northern settlement of Quaanaq

  • Qaanaaq is the second most northernly permanent human settlement on planet earth. Half of the year the town is locked in ice and complete darkness. So far removed from the rest of society, this community is highly dependent upon and in touch with the ice, land and wildlife. They are deeply entrenched in the Arctic ecosystems.

    I was perusing google Earth and randomly came across this place. I googled it and brought me to this video. I'm so fascinated by the location and would like to go here someday.

      Utter nonsense. Your ideology means that if you look at a reality that is not in accord with how you think it should be then you call it propaganda.

      USA sold the Kangerlussuaq airport for 1$ so that they can always use their former airforce base. I was there last year. But Greenland is part of kingdom of Denmark and they won the case in international court over Norway for the northeast part

    get rid of your government politicians, and get out of the EU

    • @EzioAuditoreDaFirenze99
      @EzioAuditoreDaFirenze99 4 роки тому

      What do they care about the EU? It's not like they have an immigration problem in northernmost greenland. They care only about hunting and their own community. In fact the EU is the global leader for reducing carbon emissions so considering that their sea ice is melting, which impacts their hunt, they are probably pro-EU.
