They should’ve expanded more with the Beethoven boss tbh, like maybe his piano would grow bigger and intense with each phase and he’d become more aggressive with the keys.
I think this game's art style and creativity were its strong suits for sure. I especially liked the bosses where your art style temporarily switched up, like the witch boss at the beginning or the book boss at the end. But unfortunately that's all I can really say about this game. The controls are a little stiff and don't work together well, and one of the main components (swapping ammo) is so poorly incorporated it ruins the flow of the levels it's used in. Not to mention the lack of sound effects, which leave the game feeling empty. I see the potential here, it's obvious the people behind it cared for the game immensely. All things considered, for being made by only two people it's pretty good. But I don't think it should've been released in the state it's in; There's some big issues that needed hammering out. I hope they're able to fix them in a later patch.
I don't think you should ever have to look at a game and see how many people worked on it or how little money it took to make and then say it was great for that reason alone. Is it a good game without taking that into account?
I agree, and for all the criticisms I've seen of the game, no one seems to remember that a lot of the problems can be at least partially fixed in a patch. Hopefully in a year or so this game will bee more polished and some of the bigger problems will be resolved.

I love how in the Trailer they pretty much spoiled all the bosses minus the final boss. So technically you don't have to play the game cuz you've seen all them minus the final
People would still want to play a game to play. Just watching a trailer or knowing the story is not the same as experiencing playing. There's people who commented that even tho they watched a playthrough they still want to buy and play the game. Even if a trailer didn't spoil the bosses, people could still watch playthroughs and summaries and get to know the game there.

I also didn't know Cuphead was made by two people, but it is hard to make a game, give the two people some credit. It's still impressive for what this game is though. Loved this episode and series, definitely think the game can be improved on but I see the vision and really hope they take the feedback well to create an even better game. ❤
This game had SOOO potential and honestly missed out on a huge audience of potential CH fans. Honestly the last five or six bosses themselves were actually really well themed but just executed poorly. Obviously the last boss(es) should have been completely separate but it's pretty easy to tell that the budget or time was running low and they still had plenty more ideas causing them to cram. The game would have been ten times better if it was solely made up of bosses. I'm more than willing to cut it a bunch of slack seeing as it was made by only two people (some would argue against that) and I'm sure most people would've been happy if this game spent some more time in the oven. I can say I had some fun with my playthrough but I just hope that any future projects they have turn out better.
The moral is: Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover. I think it looks too much like Cuphead in bad, why don´t just play Cuphead ya know what I meaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan
I feel like there will always be a comparison to Cuphead with this game but these games gave you entirely different things by playing them. Even Cuphead was not an original concept: It was inspired by early cartoons, like Steamboat Willie. Cuphead gives you more nostalgia playing it because it definitely has a vintage feel to it. Enchanted Portals is really great at their boss design but I feel like they actually had so much more to offer just hearing about the concept being about wizards. They could have done a lot more fantasy-themed bosses and worlds. I also wonder why they didn't do their own version of the dragon boss. I just feel that Enchanted Portals may have been released too soon and that it needs to be added to in the future.
Some people say something is a copy, but then wouldn't anymore if a lot of people were doing it. Then they just call it a genre. Also, people are making new genres all the time. There were games, art, and animation like Cuphead before Cuphead. Such as 2d-shooter-platforms. The gameplay style of Cuphead is pretty simple.
I mean it works and they didnt at all advertise in a way that made it seem it would be more than it is. I think the biggest issue is the comsumers putting too high expectations on an inspired game. Now another i will say is the developers should be more upfront to consumers about what happened with funding and why the game feels unpolished. Since just releasing the game and not directky saying its still a work in progress can feel like a cash grab if you dont communicate properly. Since it can be annoying when consumers think a game that took a while, finally comes out but finds out the developers are still clearly working on a lot of it, not just bugs.
Maybe the devs did think the gameplay was ok. I can see why they would if that was so. But then some gamers, like Mike, gave feedback, their opinion, and complaints that Enchanted Portals was too hard. Cuphead can be kind of hard, and maybe the devs were inspired by that, didn't think their game would be that hard, or thought the players might like the challenge.
We need SOME kind of story behind why everyone in these different universes(?) Are attacking us, because currently it seems like everyones against us for no reason whatsoever. And god they need to add more sound effects, and make the music more ittense. Also the difficulty in this game seems to be less because of an ACTUAL challenge and more because theres just a whole bunch of stuff thrown at us in a small span of time.
Okay I know this seems harsh to some people but 3 video of bijuu Mike's is longer then the game itself because in full game playthrough on causal newbie would cost 2 hours but veteran playthrough would cost 55:40 minutes 💀 the cuphead world record for fastest player without a glitch run would cost 45:20 but if you a speedrunner of this game it would cost 10 minutes even less how length of three videos compare to the game runtime I'm sorry Mike your video is wonderful also thanks for featuring me when you first time played pizza tower

What i would do to make the game more fun: - Allow you to create your character: skin color, hairstyle, costume etc. - Make the story about a sorcerer who explore a magical world and saved a prince, fighting monsters on the way. - Use magic wands to change power-ups; each gives you a different abilities and you can choose which one to use before a level and before a boss fight. - Give you a map of the world with checkpoints in each level. I will keep the artstyle and the music, they are well done 🙂
I feel really bad for the two developers that made this game together. I really think they’re talented, they just bit off more then they could chew. Personally, I think they should try and make a new game with a smaller scale.

The boss concept looks good, but the phase transitions are terrible. Nearly all of them are either just not there or real wonky. They didn't have to be exactly like cup head, but they clearly could have flowed much better. There's clearly a lot of polish here that's lacking.
