  • I'll show you how to make a sliding gate track. This track can be mounted before or after concrete is set.
    The all-thread is cut to 6"
    Note: You do not need a hydraulic bender to straighten out the parts after welding, I've used trees, wedged it under bumpers, under a trailer tongue and anything and everything I could get a bit of leverage on. It doesn't take much.

    Any way I could ram one of those down into grass/ground? Don't wanna pour a concrete footer if not absolutely necessary. Not sure it'd stay put though. I have a sliding gate going g up in the backyard and need to lay the track

      You want concrete mainly bc of it s hard surface and thus add stability,if you think grass or dirt are firm and hard enough nothing stops you from it.
