  • ⭐️Imagine bamboo newborn aio: i actually loved this at birth, under the cord. Its comparable to the lil joey but way better! I have a video comparing the 2 diapers:
Lil Joey VS Imagine Bamboo NBAIO- • Lil Joey VS Imagine Ba...
⭐️Thirsties natural newborn aio: loved this at birth. It fit well under the cord. The absorbency was decent for awhile but we did end up needing boosters. Always keep around Boosters or baby washcloths/cloth wipes to use as Boosters for the newborn stage. This diaper has torn up over the years. The natural fibers dont last forever and eventually get holes over time. I had some Thirsties natural nbaios that I used on multipl children. This also has a high price point. I always look for them second hand
⭐️Imagine newborn bamboo prefold: bamboo shrinks over Time. The shrinkage can be ridiculous lol. Bamboo Is more absorbent than cotton and super soft! These work great In one size pocket diapers when you pad fold them. They work best on the smallest rise setting for one size diapers.
⭐️Thirsties nb/preemie cover: not great for big babies. Advertised to fit from 4-9Lbs. Try the thirsies XS or size 1 If you want a longer lasting cover OR If you are expecting a baby on the larger side. For small babies and preemies, this cover is amazing!
⭐️lil Joey: probably wont buy it ever again. It is cute and fits small. Its not absorbent. Its hard to wash and takes forever to dry. Imagine bamboo NBAIO is a better and cheaper alternative that isnt as bulky.
⭐️Now the last diaper: the Happy Flute/THX is designed different in 2022. There are more options, styles, snap placements, different diaper designs, and better absorbency! The specific one I had was a Lil Joey knockoff and it was horrible lol. Nowadays they offer way better options, including natural fibers! I’d definitely give those a chanceakit

I love this review! You're opening my eyes. I thought I loved the lil Joeys but they do take for ever to dry. Now I think I'm going to convert to Thirsties.

They are just so many more better options out there, we’re talking about both price point and absorbency. I won’t lie the lil Joeys are so cute, but in the end they were not worth it for us

I had a teeeny tiny baby. She was 4lb 12oz at her smallest and she is 7lbs and 7.5weeks now and what i had for her was 7 boxes of disposables, some tiny gpants and disposable inserts my sister gave me then bought snap on rumparooz newborn covers and infant size osocozy better fit prefolds with the purple edge. Used most of the disposables, im actually on the last of the newborn sized ones and have a box of size ones that are still massive on her but they leak and blow out the legs constantly(target up and up brand) so i dont want to use them. Considering how slow shes growing im debating rebuying my newborn stash because the gpants leak and cant fit inserts very well and the rumparooz covers finally fit in the legs but she absolutely hates being changed into them and wrestling her while im snapping on a diaper and messing with a prefold is overwhelming. Im not new to cloth diapers but its been 12 years and i didnt start with my son until 6 months old. And actually her prefolds were sooo bulky her clothes didnt fit over them and i realized it was barely wet when she peed or pooped so i chopped them all in half and stick them in as inserts. Just looking at them i know they will shred in the wash but in the moment i thought it was brilliant lol. Im debating keep using them as is or buy either velcro rumparooz or sigzagor(some amazon brand i saw) newborn covers and getting some small cloth eez cotton inserts and using those together. Ive never used sigzagor covers or the cloth eez inserts but they both look very affordable and seems easier than what we are doing now. The difference in price from the rumparooz covers is small though so i might just get those but in the velcro style. Im very iffy about getting the inserts though on if they will work. I know i can always add to them or use them in pockets later if i dont like them on their own though. So for reference the osocozy better fit and cloth eez orange measure roughly the same size then i cut the prefold in half and turn it sideways and use as an insert with the bulky side in the center and even that is only half wet. My other idea was getting velcro alva newborn pockets and stuff those with my cut up prefolds but id need a heck of a lot more of them. Im looking for cheap, easy to use, no microfiber inserts and not bulky. What would you do if you were me? She uses about 15 diapers a day btw

I agree with the lil joeys and I have so many 🤦🏾‍♀️ we used it for like a week and a half before he outgrew the absorbency

Thoughts on using prefolds/fitteds without a cover in the first 72 hours?

You could always give it a try. Typically they don’t pee or poop that much in the first few days. My youngest did have runny meconium poop, which I didn’t experience with my older children. But even then it wasn’t enough to spill out of the diapers. So I’d say it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try, And if you look at a diaper change then just throw cover over it
