I thought long and hard and I pray as I post this that it finds a place for correction and not for excited people. Read all the way to the end, read to understand not to respond, before attacking with responses consider what is written if it not aligned with God’s word. The speaker of truth has no friends. I know my post will ruffle a lot of feathers and annoy a lot of people.
1 John 1:8-10 says ‘8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.’
The message left me with a feeling that because Christ died for my sins on the cross repentance is not necessary as I am the righteousness of God. Yet 1 John says it differently. We are sinners, we sin everyday and that does not mean once we are saved we never sin again , we sin everyday and we must repent.
Our sins are crimson red, yes Christ died for them and he died for he ones we are going to commit but do we get forgiven when we don’t acknowledge that we are sinners or have sinned and repent?
The Apostle Paul in Romans 3 quoting the psalmist said ‘As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one , there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.”
Take heed when teaching that we don’t add our own understanding to the scripture, for proper exegesis explain scripture accordingly using scripture, remember James 3:1 says teachers will be judged more harshly. Teach the truth as God intended it.
