Comparing the trailers is a great idea to show the feelings each two bring. “Does this feel like Star Wars?” For the acolyte trailer HE-HE-HELLL NAH
The fact that its in a completely new time period, plays a big part in why it feels that way tho.
@@MK-mm7ui yes but still Andor felt perfectly like Star Wars. Doesn’t mean we can’t make it feel like Star Wars again. With that logic why is everyone making reboots with more side shows and films?
Star Wars, before Disney, had an epic feel. It was more about world building.
I think old star wars was much braver and more its own thing, where the new one just tries to appeal to as many people as possible

People keep clamouring for Star Wars to do something different and take more risks but when they actually do that with stuff like this and Andor all the fans seem to do is just complain that it too different, this just shows that Star Wars fans will never be happy and will just always find something to complain about

@@PervySage723 people always say that Star Wars is too much of the same stuff and that they don’t take risks or try anything different, I mean that’s what people said about Mando, obi wan and bad batch, is that there essentially the same story about a hardened hero taking care of a child
@@jovankandolaI think you are confusing writing and story with atmosphere and vibe. I don’t say that I necessarily agree with all these opinions, but when people make the complaint that it’s always the same, they usually refers to the writing and stories. Like Rey being from yet another sand planet, without knowing the identity of her real parents ect.. When people are complaining about things like the acolyte trailer, they complain about the atmosphere of the scenes/shots, as they thing they differs too much from Lucas Star Wars.
If I have to make a guess, I think all this boils down to how bad Disney have been at making new iconic soundtracks and sound effects for star wars. I mean no matter who you ask people would properly be able to recognize Darth vaders breathing, yoda’s talking, boba’s seismic charge bomb, the sound of a lightsaber among other things - and also many of the themes throughout the 6 original movies. Disney haven’t really been able to invent anything new that has this same Star Wars vibe to it, and as they can’t just randomly play darth vaders theme, a lot of people starts to fell a disconnection between these new Disney projects and what they associate Star Wars with.
@@frederikcamilodahl3551 yeah I get what you mean but that was the problem with Andor, people for years had been saying they wanted darker and more impactful stories from Star Wars with a focus on good characters and when they finally got that with Andor they were all up in arms about it, it just shows that Star Wars fans don’t really know what they want and choose to hate on everything. Plus I feel like atmosphere and writing need to somewhat go hand in hand where a sorry like Andor that has darker concepts and more serious writing needs to have a more grounded atmosphere and tone to match it, I just feel like Star Wars fans are so confined to what George did and can’t accept anything else even when it’s literally what they ask for. Plus I think people forget that it’s literally a tv show and obviously isn’t gonna be able to look as good as a high budgeted movie
I think the acolyte trailer is decent. Im worried about the show, for obvious reasons, but im still trying to go in open minded.

Oc its gunna be different. Expecting other ppl to have George's vision, or team, is unrealistic. The acolyte trailer by itself isnt actually bad. Its the implications of the trailer that bother ppl. Id argue if the trailer was brought out in a time of more stability in the franchise and it wad made by different ppl, i think fans may have even enjoyed it

the tension......attention to detail and damn out love shown in even the TRAILERS for prequel trailers.........man.........this makes me sad. No more Disney.........i'm well able to see trash when it looks and smells like it, until people stop paying for D+ we'll never get StarWars back.
I respect you for trying to be neutral about it but a lot of people have analyzed the trailer and it's just going to be bad, the showrunner is disgusting and it's just obvious woke agenda garbage.

Unbelievable! People keep pissing on this Acolyte even before the thing comes out or even final trailer is seen. I can't believe we're actually comparing trailers now. The prequel trailers were absolute shit except if we want to keep lying to ourselves.
Enough of all these please. Fans are killing SW as much as Disney.
Speak for yourself! Prequel trailers were great! The prequels and the originals captured the feeling of "out-of-this-world", and the trailers did the same thing. The Acolyte trailer, however, feels forced. It doesn't feel like it's a natural, ebb-and-flow type of story-telling, and it hasn't even come out yet. I think what concerns people the most is how poorly Disney has handled live action Star Wars, and let's be real, we're all doubting every move they make, because they've already taken great characters like Luke, Leia, and Han, and completely ruined them.

@@MasterlKenobi Did you see any of the trailers of the prequels before actually watching the movies? If not, then opinion on this is not 100% reliable.
This show takes place in an entirely new era of SW we've never witnessed before. People hated the prequels initially because it was nothing like the originals and that's because it took place in a different time.
My point is we should wait and see what the show has to offer before pissing on something simply because we don't like Disney.
@@LukeFor3ver Just because I'm not a fan of Disney Star Wars doesn't mean I can't be a fan of George Lucas Star Wars, or enjoy it at the least. But you're right in one aspect! It would be so much easier to me to just forget Star Wars all together and focus on other things, however, as a human, I like to have my own interests. I appreciate your concern, though!
@@thedigitalbash1506 Honestly, I did not watch the trailers before the films, but I don't think it's proper of you to discredit my opinion based on that alone. In fact, I don't think it's proper of you to discredit my opinion at all, because my opinion is just that: my opinion. I said "Speak for yourself" because not everyone agrees with your thought process on a matter such as this, and that's perfectly OK!
Something I'd like to mention is that, we HAVE seen this era before in the comics, and from what I recall, those comics were poorly received by a majority of the comic fans, though I could be mistaken! I DO know that the Old Republic era has been received VERY well, and it's clear that a lot of actual Star Wars fans want to see more Old Republic content, which makes for a prime example of content that had good reception right off the deck!
Your point is totally valid. I agree that people probably shouldn't trash on Acolyte yet, because we don't know what the show has in store for us. Despite that, there is nothing wrong with being skeptical and going into this bit of content with caution, as, like I said, Disney has a track record for butchering live action Star Wars.
It’s a night and day difference. Definitely has that Star Wars feel unlike The Acolyte.
