Ever since I did Super Sentai I wanted to go back to do this reaction because it was on my list so I can watch more Super Sentai shows in the future. One cool thing about the MagiRanger team- they’re family. MagiMother’s name isn’t a joke- she’s the mom of the main five and Wolzard Fire is the dad. MagiShine was the one exception- and then he and MagiBlue got married.

Fun fact, when Stan Lee tried to bring Super Sentai to the States back in the 80s he was trying to adapt Dynaman
He was actually trying to adapt Sun Vulcan, since that was one of the shows Marvel had involvement with
The thing about Zenkaiger - the one with the four robots - is that they are still rangers but don't look like rangers themselves, they look more like megazords. Like you know how the Mighty Morphin megazord looks like, that's the red robot. This also carries over to yellow (Gaoranger/Wild Force). pink (Magiranger/Mystic Force) & blue (Operation Overdrive/Boukenger). That and the white leading them is based on Akaranger from the first team.
So yeah, rangers but they look like megazords.
Zenkaiser is a mix of akaranger and big one ( hence the rainbow in the suit) while staceasar based off battle fever j

One thing I like about the Sentai series is that they are not afraid to show death or talk about it either. Also, the motifs were awesome and weird at the same time!

That is they are a new member replacing the former Senshi due to the latter's death or retirement.
There are also characters that use the current team's powers for a single episode, either by accident or as part of a plan
Fair bit of forewarning, Samurai is a line from line copy of Shinkenger. Just samurai doesn't have as good of execution
I think that's partly because the shows are so heavily themed around Japanese culture. It's easier for Sentai to work with because it's their culture, but Saban tried to write around it and didn't do as well as it needed.

In Sentai Takeru is a fake Shiba (the samurai clan) who was trained and raised to be a smokescreen from the REAL Shiba Head in Kaoru once she perfected the needed technique in secret to defeat the main villain and most of their enemies had been defeated she would return and takeover, Takeru reclaims his position when Kaoru formally adopts him into the Shiba Clan so he can return to the battlefield
In Power Rangers Jayden was an actual member of his Samurai Clan (unlike Takeru) but was the younger sibling so his older sister was the official head and he was just a smokescreen like Takeru
The issue is in Japanese Samurai clans the male sibling is ALWAYS the Head of the Clan regardless of age so that threw the concept right out the door
There's also the fact the whole developing into a Team Player was an ongoing arc for Takeru in Sentai but in PR Jayden goes through this same arc TWICE because of them largely copying Takeru's character arc whole clothe
Also the Red Ranger crossover with RPM is pretty freakin bad
Dairanger by far has the best roll call. The out of suit actors even do a really amazing version of it in the final Dairanger ep.
The only ones missing from this video are the sixth rangers for Zyuohger, Kirameger and Donbrothers and one extra ranger for Toqger, Donbrothers, and Zyuohger. Also I’m pretty sure that Twokaiser (the gold ranger from Zenkaiger) is apart of a Jpop group so that’s why he was great at dancing
You are indeed correct. It was even his idea for the Zenkaiju gear dance he does, he created it himself and the producer gave him the green light, so that became the official dance. Same thing with his regular transformation, they just wanted him to spin it and then fire, but he was like “I’ve got an idea” and they loved it so they allowed him to make what we see, as his transformation dance. His transformation dance.

People already mentioned that MagiRangers were a family, but I also want to mention that GoGoV team are also a family whose mother went missing and the father left his kids to go and make the ranger tech that he would then later recruit his kids to be the rangers.

Kiramager is definitely super good. Not the most unique of the sentais, but it's team and show is very fun and does what it sets out to do very well. It's easily one of my favorite sentai alongside Kingohger and kyuranger
Donbrothers is my favorite series in recent series. It's weirdest sentai, but amazing same time.
Fact: Actually KijiBrother(Pink Ranger) and Inubrother (Black Ranger) Actually, these two people have actual filming outfits, but they will be used only when filming at that time is a close-up, but Inubrother is special in that there will be "series filming" outfits which It will be based on his CGI and the costumes used in the "stage play" production. At DonBrothers, two characters were CGI because he wanted to break with the tradition of Super. Sentai, like having a guy become a Pinkranger and using the CG curtains that he got.

The numbers on their heads are the season they’re a reference too and the robots even do the posses of the leaders for the first half of their roll calls.

The first three on this list are available for streaming on Shout Factory's service for free. The others however are not but Gokaiger is one of THE most popular being a tribute to Super Sentai history and Go-Busters... I will admit I just put it in since you already watched King-Ohger, but it does have a ranger team made of spies and the show has a lot of references to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Yep. Mary Gold, aka. DekaGold. The first (and currently only) female Gold Ranger in both Sentai and Power Rangers... and she has the shortest on-screen tenure as a ranger, at a whole 1 second. It's simply because she wasn't in the script at first, and thus didn't get much time to film. She wasn't adapted for Power Rangers SPD because they got the footage for the Dekaranger Movie (Full Blast Action) late into SPD's production, so they weren't able to use her. The showrunner from that season has stated that he regrets not being able to include her. She's also the first movie-exclusive Ranger, as any other movie exclusive allies prior to her are considered extra heroes, alongside a number of movie-exclusive villainous rangers.
Maskman will always be the fun henshin for me. Everyone is like use gadget to tap into the morphing grid. Maskman be like, use my powerful chakra and im a fcking Sentai now

Personally my top 3 sentai are Gokaiger, Kingohger and LupinVSPatoranger. They are peaked fiction tbh. Very very anime-like storyline but executed live very very well. Gokaiger is basically the short version of One Piece. But as good. They have the best gimmick, Ranger keys which I think give Toei a lot of money since they're still producing it even after the show ended 10+ years ago 😂
They're basically the perfect anniversary season. Cameos from past sentais while incorporating their themes in the storyline, nostalgic callbacks while playing the openings as bg music, twists on the suits, good characters and developments n i could go on and on. It doesn't matter if you didn't watch previous sentai cause Gokaiger have their own storyline, just with some fun references. Doesn't mess up with the storyline at all. So yup I'm basically forcing you to watch it. Cause it's that good. If you love Kingohger, you would love Gokaiger.
LupinVSPatoranger was also good. Only thing is they focused too much on thief side but then again the character dynamics between the police and thief were so good. Not to forget the action sequence is top notch. ❤

Definitely watch Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. It’s so Japanese culture coded that you have to watch the original Japanese. It’s much darker with great themes. The score is fantastic for the show. I still listen to “something treasured”. And fantastic quotes. I still quote this one randomly that is straight out of the show “A man is not a dog. He can choose who he follows”. That is from a kids show.
I saw Samurai Sentai before Power Rangers Samurai (watched it in 09, yes I’m an old man). Dude to me, it doesn’t even compare. Samurai Sentai is far superior. And I’m not a blind “Sentai is always better” fan. Because Power Rangers RPM is far superior to Go-Onger imo. Dekaranger and SPD are equal. So I’m not a biased guy here haha, at least I’m not trying to be.
