  • Watch this model lesson as Bridget teaches Blaine how to roadmap his text. This is a simple but highly effective strategy for supporting comprehension and helps with referencing the text as students work to answer questions and locate evidence.

Definitely would love to see him back it was super helpful to see how you would teach it, interact with the students, and more.

Wow! This was the most authentic demo lesson I have ever seen online. Your son was the perfect student, and you really showed how to teach the skill from beginning to end. Thank you...and thank you Blaine!

This is the PD that we need. It is something that I can implement right away with little prep.

Bridget, this was an awesome video! It was so fun to have Blaine as your special guest to see how to use this strategy with students. I think the visualizing ideas would be so helpful for English Language Learners. Thank you so much for sharing! I hope you are enjoying your summer! 💜

Bless your son! He worked through hiccups and was a champ. I’d love for him to be one of my students. We definitely want to see him in more teaching strategy videos.

Thank you for sharing! I used your writing curriculum last year and loved it. I taught one of your roadmapping lessons, but didn't introduce it as well to students as you did in this video. Really helps to see this example. Excited to teach it better next year and use more consistently throughout the school year. Thank you!

5:15 I feel like if my teachers were like this with me as I was in school, I would have comprehended and kept it in my head. I was in Special Education and it was really just words on paper and you completed it by yourself I need this type of process of learning. Thank you for showing teachers this way of teaching. (Wish I had you as a teacher) especially in Special Education.

This was a great video! I would definitely love to see Blaine back. He did a great job. 🎉👏Quick question, how could we teach roadmapping to students who only have their passages and questions online? (STAAR)

Where did you get this nonfiction text from? I would love to do this activity, but I want a nonfiction as long as these to do it.
