1975 for me. I was glad to see that back of the place. On my last night before passing out the next day, we were allowed out on the 'Liberty Boat' ........ a bus. We had a good few drinks, and I was sick in the back of a taxi going back to Ganges. The driver reported me and I was 'arrested' with purple sick down my No.2 uniform (Lager & Blackcurrent). I spent the night under guard in the sick bay. Once we passed out, everyone left to go to their new ships (trade training bases). I stayed behind to be put up front of the Captain (scary for a 16 year old). He said that I shouldn't get drunk until I learned how to drink a 'man's drink'. He fined me 2 weeks wages. It was so much better once I got to HMS Daedalus.
