The oldest instrument ever found was a flute made from the wing bone of a Crane bird. Which is beautiful, but I would think the first instruments would have been the voice, and percussion. Knocking sticks against rocks and such, but the early bone flutes are a fastinating thought.
@Willfreewill I mean an actual crafted instrument. You can, of course, use your voice like an instrument. Most musical theorists do not categorize the voice as an instrument because, it is natural and not constructed. And percussion, at least the definition, points more towards what is being struck and not the sticks doing the striking. I do think clapping, sticks, and rock slapping/banging came first. There's a musical "singing" rock in India you can check out.
@@richardbigouette3651 Well, I wouldn't listen to the sort of people who don't consider the voice an instrument. That's sounds extremely pedantic. Is clapping now something other than percussion, because its "not an instrument?" Anyone who thinks the flute is the first musical instrument has never tried to make one. Drums and their accessories don't last for some very obvious reasons, so this is a very clear case of ivory tower idiocy, and the survivorship bias.
I am still waiting for that on my channel after 16 years of contributions. I was the first to upload selfie stick videos like this one of me running a choir ua-cam.com/video/07BNTVFSC6M/v-deo.htmlsi=OwTzVBErDf8c284c
This is soon to go viral, friend. After 10 years, finally, you may be getting the youtube algorithm coming your way! Thanks for the peaceful 2 minutes Mr. Freeman.
If he's not in the partnership program he won't see a dime of it and UA-cam will get it all. It may give him enough to get monetized and then he can keep uploading 🤷♂️ I get the feeling he was just showing his awesome flute though, not trying to start a UA-cam career
I really hope that this goes viral! I was just eating dinner and saw that cool flute (usually I don't have much to do with that stuff) now 45 min later and a lot of your videos I have to heat up my food again. I was so captured by the sound and craftman's ship! beautifulull work!
This is absolutely incredible! I always figured that deer antler was solid on the inside, and so I had no idea that they could be turned into a flute! You play them beautifully, and their sound is stunningly gorgeous! It's as if you've tapped into the music that lies at the very heart of nature itself! Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful gift with the world! 💖🙏🏼
Awww thank you kindly. No deer antler has like a honey comb inside. I made this one and a few others many years ago now. I usually favour wood, but its always good to see what can be done 😊
@@Willfreewill You're welcome! And, wow! It's amazing what an antler can be used for! I can see, of course, that wood is much more versatile, and thus better to work with on the whole, but seeing what a deer antler is capable of musically is certainly fun! Was the whale tooth simply decorative, then? Or did it assist with the sound in some way?
It's thought the flute was the first instrument ever used by humans. Seeing that you can make it out of anything makes me understand why.

Thank you for your gift. At some points it comes from inside myself. Extra ordinary experience ❤

It's criminal that it took 10 years for this to get so much notice.
A new video :"how to make..."

Oh that instrument looks epic as h*ll. It's like a bard saved a druid and the druid crafted the bard an instrument.

maybe, lets push the algorithm!

A blessing has fallen upon the to have this video be brought in the algorithm from 10 years ago. Thank you.

Wow! What a wonderful instrument, and musical composition!
Wow!! That is so awesome! I don't even understand how it' possible for the sound to be so good, considering it's an antler...

@@crow_feather The whale tooth directs the flow of air to the sound hole. My customer brought it specially to me to be used on his flute.
Well if that isn't the coolest thing I've seen to date
Beautiful. Brilliant.
Got recommended this on New Year’s Eve
This is actually so cool
Thank you kindly 😊
This sounds amazing. ❤❤❤❤
Many thanks Satan.

How do you hollow out an antler and all of it's curves??
This is so amazing brother! How do you managed to bore it? Simplu cut in half, hollow and glue back, or a form of anciemt magic?❤
Ancient magic my friend 🤣. It laborious ancient magic though, and it gets everywhere and smells a lot.
Awesome
Nice!
Sick bro! Enjoy the views!
The algorithm has blessed me again! How do you even make that thing hollow?!
RIP Dear ❤
No deer was harmed in the making of this flute. Deer antlers drop off and regrow.
@@Willfreewill oh that's nice 🙂👍
Impressive
