Thanks for a great share! My exact thoughts of choosing this tool! Have a great one and enjoy the MP808. I have the MP808K, which I believe is the latest of the 808's. And yes, you can skip a year or 2 or more for the updates, and it will still work. When you renew, it warranties the tool and updates for that whole year that you renewed. Autel is truly an awesome company with extraordinary electronics and is not so money hungry as like in Snap-**. I wish that they would of had this when I was in the industry. I'm retired now, but still do side jobs. I love this tool!
Good information I only need it for personal use also. 300 a year is still a lot but its better than most and it seems to be a useful tool.
Nice and helpful video thank you
Most welcome
Great video! And you're right about it being expensive for the Diyer, which is me. However, I'm a diy-er with several cars, so was considering this. A function that no one seems to mention, is the programmable module install. Does it support that on this Merc?
Never tried. Programming with a tool that is not the factory will always be risky. Most techs don't recommend
Great video
As far as you know, will this scanner continue to work normally with all
its current ability after one year if updates are not purchased? There
are many complaints on Amazon reviews that it turns into a paper weight
unless you pay for updates
For what I researched it will work normally. You just won’t get updates
Is this scanner supported by U.S. customer service if you have issues? Looks like just what I need. Great video!
I never had to use it, but there is a 855 phone number you can call for customer service in the US. Plus most techs and mechanics use Autel nowadays
Very helpful, thank you. Does it do passenger seat occupancy calibration?
It does... but it depends on the the car. Autel is constantly updating the software to add more capabilities.
Look at you go.
LOL! I ended up replacing the pump. The car is actually in great shape.
@@dcfgarage you did great, pump is number one cause of that code. Im currently talking with an autel rep to get my hands on one.
Great video, strongly considering this model to replace my SnapOn Solus Pro that won't communicate with anything newer than 2014 MY, and has no European software either.. if I bought this MP808 today in 2021 and run the updates etc. after unboxing, can you tell me what model years it will cover i.e. will it work on say, a 2019 vehicle? Thanks man!!!
It will work with all vehicles up to 2021. The list is huge. It also comes with 1 year subscription for updates
@@dcfgarage That really sounds like what I'm looking for, thanks a lot!!
Can you tell me the difference between the DS808 (Maxidas) vs the MP808 (Maxipro)? I have searched and searched, even contacting Autel and can not find a difference between them besides a VERY negligible size difference. Do you know what the difference is?
It’s the exact same size, has the exact same features, absolutely the same everything, except the name. I did a lot of research before I bought
can you tell me if it does odometer correction.
Do you know if this can bleed the sbc brakes? Awesome video!
I tried to bleed the brakes with it and it didn’t work well. I think the SDS has some additional steps that the autel doesn’t. I haven’t tried again since
Any update on the SBC brake question? I started looking into these tools specifically for my current brake job.
To clarify, I don't need to control the SBC control module, just reset the red dash warning light.
Can it code Mercedes abs module after replacement.
I don't think it resets hard codes from srs modules. I think you need to ship that to a specialty shop
Is it possible to correct mileage with this device?
I believe you can.
How’s the speed of the scan tool?
I’d rate it as adequate
Share it with your enemies🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just a Blue Tooth version...I hate using them cables....
I hate too. But the versions with bidirectional communication that are BT are 2k+. You probably got a maxipro 808 TS. You can read and clear codes, but you can't do bidirectional testing or programming.
@@dcfgarage MX 808BT can do Bidirectional. Just not many. It can also do Key Programming.
I got a 906.. I just wanted a smaller version for portable use. If I have to go too the customer for an ECU flash or Replacement.
@@dcfgarage the mp808bt is bi directional and is 800$
@@AutoSteps The one that costs 800ish dollars has 150 adapters and ecu encoding. They have one that's 500ish dollars on Walmart's website that has bluetooth, does bidirectional commands but can't change the Ecu code.
Cable is way better, you don't have the Bluetooth lag. 👍🇨🇦
