This was a disturbing episode, Tapper in the past has gone after owners who take investors money without paying them back.instead he took this failure out on the bar manager even after she told him she had no experience. Why didn’t he wait until the next day to enter the bar knowing the owner would be there & then tear into him? I feel he owes the bar manager an on air apology and owes the viewers an explanation as to why the owner was described as a “good guy” what’s the reason?
In season 5 Jon Taffer made the Lucky Leprechaun Irish Saloon into Lucky's Corner Pocket which is now closed. Ik when this guy baught the place it was already named Corner Pocket hence he named it Corner Pocket 2, but its just a coincidence how they both ended up needing the rescue.

@@dlh1282 that's what I was saying, when he bought the place it was already named corner pocket hence naming it corner pocket 2 I'm not from the area so I'm not familiar with how long it's been there. I just find it funny that corner pocket 2 needed rescuing the same as a bar he named luckys corner pocket in season 5.
They need real bartenders and managers. They most likely never had any.
This show has DESTROYED this bar. Absolutely zero customers. The bar is in a dangerous and sketchy location - that fact cannot be changed. This bar had a certain low-key / shady atmosphere and clientele to it that made it money. Saturday nights would be PACKED. Now I doubt it will survive until the end of the year. Seems this show hurt this bar more than it helped. All the owner had to do was be more present and implement training.
That bar was a go to now its a no go.Owner is a cool dude hate to see it happen but its life.

Wow - DISGUSTING PLACE - even with lack of training it’s so shameful that the employees were content with FILTH. When it was renamed from The Corner Pocket to The Gateway Pub & Grill it looked much better, but I’d never risk going there as the same crew is there that accepted filth, off temperature food, ROACHES ON THE FOOD and food prep area etc. I hope they succeed but I wouldn’t be shocked to see the same old filth pit in 6 months. My biggest impression was IT’S HARD TO HELP PRIDE-LESS PEOPLE.
As a local and former employee -- a lot of this was staged for television and to get a rise out of viewers like you.
More like when the owner is too busy to care and doesn't fix stuff, the rest of them don't either. The owner sets the example. It seemed like he just wanted easy money with little effort.
