That’s why he finally walked away and retired because he knew he wasn’t going to get the credit and big fights and pay he deserved! I believe bud was close to doing the same thing had not Spence went rogue on his camp and Al Haymon because he wanted to see who was the best and kept his word!
If not bud certainly would’ve done what ward did and many wouldn’t have known how great Bud truly is just like many don’t know how great ward was!!!

Ward i will admit wasn't flashy but he was a technician in the ring.
That's the reason why he didn't take in the US. Plus, he was dodged like no other... they finally had a middleweight tournament (which he won) because there were so many good super middleweights... they could avoid him no longer. He was the only boxer to win every match of the super middleweight tournament.
And also a dirty fighter that got a gifted decision against Kovalev on the 1st fight

There was no hard punchers like that, in that tournament. Ward’s a fantastic fighter but his win vs Kov helped his career. Over beating the b class fighters in the super 6

After Ward dismantled Chad Dawson I knew he was nice. In my opinion he lost the 1st fight to Kovalev and the ref should have let the second fight continue. That division didn't have many stand out stars

Ward was like fighter of the decade. He just had a long layoff because of promoter shit and he retired after his biggest fight. Just never truly capitalized
Can't compare Ward to Crawford. Ward never dared to be great. He ducked Adonis Stevenson @ 168 & 175. Challenged GGG & Chavez Jr but expected them to come up to 168 to fight him even though they were bigger draws then him. Bud has a 93% KO ratio since moving up from 135 compared to 50% for Wards career
