Thank you so much for you video. The last time my cable broke, I had it repaired for $180.00. Part of the charge was a $90.00 charge to pick up my mower. Thanks again.
A 1 inch shorter belt fixed my belt problem. Thanks for the vid.
A great score, free is my favourite, thanks for sharing.
I've got almost the same one. Mine is older and has the vtwin with the cranky carb. The blades get loose on those decks and make them scalp also. My poor mower was ready for the heap years ago. I need to replace the steering gearbox or make something better. You gotta tear half the mower apart just to pull the column. Thanks for showing the adjustment, I've never really looked into it before.
Craftsman has a video showing how to do it.
I've had this same mower for 16 years and besides me hitting a tree it runs great
Nice odyssey.. I used to ride one as a kid...
Verry helpful hints.
thank you so much I n3d to adjust my deck it's doing same thing yours was I'll try what you did in am dark out now. again thank you
Just wondering if the deck adj on you mower fixed the problem or not?
Wish i had a bro like urs
Ya Buddy, way to fix it and cool score, free is always best. lol Cheers Dizzy.
Can't believe searching the Internet for deck wheels has brought me here.
Yet another survivor that gets to sit around at Harveys lawn tractor retirement estate. Soon you might have to look at when a new one comes in the roughest in the hoard needs to leave or you'll have enough for a summers worth of mowing without having to use the same mower twice
So now that some time has passed has that fixed the belt popping off problem?
Wonder if the plastic spindle cover belt guide would help keep the belt on .
wtbm123 i have a shop, and these craftsman mowers are made by ayp. The guard does serve as a guide. It needs all the guards and guides in place to keep the belt on. Its routed in a "T" configuration, and WILL jump off. Also, the bracket supporting the idler that engages the deck can become worn and throw the pulley out of alignment.
Good point on the idler bracket .
Where is the free-wheel control lever situated?
That mower is 15yrs old and it you could put a new battery in it faster then that whole process
Harvey, I thought you was down in Texas?
This is meant to be constructive. The title is misleading because you didn't actually demonstrate how to adjust the deck.
Where can I find one? I can’t seem to find one.
How do you tighten the blade belt
I have the same tractor and I hate it. It always scalps the yard on the left side of the deck no matter how I adjust the deck. Especially while turning left. I had to resort to drilling a lower hole for the plastic wheel on the back of the deck so the wheel stop the deck from scalping. Also any setting bellow 4 just scalps the whole yard. These decks should be 6" off the ground at setting 5. Craftsman screwed up on this mower. I have to make 3 passes over my yard to get an even cut. Oh and the bagger attachment really sucks. It gets clogged all the time if you're cutting more than a half inch of grass.
Where are the belt "keepers" to prevent it from jumping off the pulleys....mine has 3 and they work good
Hey Joe, This is the way I got the tractor, keeps would help the belts stay on for sure.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commentng!!!
yeah, some people I cut a commercial property for just bought this mower, there's one on each belt...kind of a springy bent wire thing on each. I have the same issue with banding, tried adjusting the last cut, made it worse lol OOPSY.....going to have to try again before the next cut.
I saw on another video to measure to the blade, NOT the deck because whose to say the blades and deck are even?
You need to replace that little idler wheel that mounts to the deck and that will help you if you get on a hill
What year is that mower? I have one identical. Dont know the year tho
That particular model was made by Husqvarna and they slap the Craftsman name on it. It's a pretty good mower, 20 horsepower Gold Series Briggs & Stratton engine. Lasted me 10 years, with no deck rust out. I just replaced it in May 2018 with a Husqvarna 42-inch. Which is essentially the same except the Husqvarna build quality is superior to the Craftsman. The Craftsman Husqvarna has a stamp bent front end, the Husqvarna is cast iron. I expect to get at least 10 years out of this husky.
Hey 5argeTech!!!! I put up a video on a free Husqvarna LTH130 w/42" deck that I got today, it has a steering problem.... It does seem to be better made then an average Craftsman tractor. Thanks for the info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!!
They are made by AYP. My Craftsman has a cast iron front end.
My LT2000 has a 17hp Kohler 1 banger.
So what is the rope for tied on it
So where is the" LT2000 tractor how to adjust a floating deck" info he pointed to two nuts but didn't show how to adjust the Side to Side and front to back or what the measurement tolerances should be, disappointing.
The side to side is tricky. I wonder how much the front-rear adjustments to the deck bind it up.
I have one side much lower than the other, and have no clue how to fix.
Johnna Kessler my tro Bilt has an adustment gear on the left side you loosen the lock bolt then turn the adjuster bolt clockwise to raise the left side and counter clockwise to lower, be careful withe the adjuster because it can break the teeth on the gear it is limited how much you can adjust then it stops
hay do you have a spare gas tank for a lt2000 i have one and i can only fill up the gas tank half full or it will leek so if you could help me it would be grate
some of those tanks were on recall. I fixed mine by using a 50 watt iron and melted the tank seam together, no glue will hold nylon, wash out the gas first, just in case.
@@stilllearning777 I solder with plastic, mashing the color, work for me.
If someone has this same tractor please contact me I need some pictures on the electrical wiring on the engine is self mine caught fire and I don’t know how to put the wires back together they have some kind of Combination that i dont have & dont know how to fix
Hi, did you still need some assistance? I have this tractor. I know it was 7 months ago lol
Harvey on your left spindle the spacer is on top of the pulley it's supposed to be under the pulley not on top so fix that
Great video! I would hate to be your neighbor, too much junk outside of your house.
Your missing a the belt gaurd on the left side of deck..
I don't use mine for mowing I took the deck off mine and just ride it around
If I lived just one less mile from work I would ride mine there in the summer, taking only back streets of course.
there decent mowers, not tractors....... free is good as log as its not crap, lol
Hey Roger, U R right, they are riding mowers not garden tractors, my problem with free is that free still takes up space, too much space.... Thanks for your thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
Have had 2 craftsman mowers that lasted each about 14 years...however this one was apiece of junk...only about 3 years....lost compression, no power, now won't start because of loss compression.....never a craftsman again...mine was bought in 2017.....
Useless video! Absolutely zero information.
Bro, never post another video again, please.
Video a waste of time, Catch your breath Harvey !
Hey Joe Hills, Sorry that U think this video wasted Ur time, it was positively received by most people according to the stats, what was Ur issue with it????? Thanks for Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
You didn't even show how to adjust anything
