- Disney Channel Original Movies are always a mixed bag for what you are going to get. Some are legendary, some are just nostalgic and some just kind of stick in your brain for you to randomly remember nearly 20 years later. Today we are going to look at the DCOM Stuck in the Suburbs to see what it was all about and if there was something special here or not.

Thanks so much for watching! Did you ever watch this Disney Channel Original Movie? If you've seeen it, let me know you thoughts on Stuck in the Suburbs!
Yes I do & I LOVE that song Over It
Loved this movie! The way they sent media using bluetooth or infrared seemed so futuristic
WAIT... Remember:
Skunk Fu!
Dan Vs.
World of Quest
Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot
Redwall
loved this movie
WAIT… Remember Glenn Martin, DDS?
Brenda song might be one of the most underrated actresses in history. They cast her in EVERYTHING but never gave her the public push like Hilary and Miley. If you look at her filmography she’s starred in more movies and shows that people actually enjoyed, than the majority of Hollywood actresses, without the credit.
You sound like an idiot, if you want to say she's an underrated disney actress fine that's perfectly valid but to say she's on of the "most underrated actresses in history" is such a ludicrous statement. What is it with everyone needed to take everything to the fucking extreme. Just give her her flowers without trying to discredit all the work that everyone else has done.
Brenda Xiong is a great actress yes
And recently, she was voiced in the Netflix series called "Blue-Eyed Samurai"😁
@@PMIII Homie keeps a job.
@@roudoukui A Disney G.O.A.T 🐐
Let's not forget to mention that Drew Seeley, the guy who played the front desk clerk, was Jordan's singing voice. That man had a chokehold on early 2000s Disney!
I like how many of these early Disney Channel Original Movies were some trying to be "crazy-but-relatable" premise to preteens like "What if you got to meet your favorite celebrity/musician" for girls or "what if you were secretly a mermaid boy/leprechaun" for boys.
Disney really knew how badly 11 year old boys wanted to either be magic or meet Justin Bieber.
ngl Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century was alright
The only thing that killed of zenon girl of the 21st century trilogy for me was when they swapped out the actual best friend of zenon for raven simone like what was wrong with the other girl
We also had the magic/witch girls from Halloween Town, Wizards of Waverly Place, and Twitches.
LOL you want to know what kind of funny? The d-com movie about secretly being a mermaid is about a boy. Really broke all the gender stereotypes. But I loved the leprechaun movie too! Hilarious.
@@ryanjonsson2468Actually Raven was the original.
This movie really had me thinking Taran Killam had a hidden talent for singing because this soundtrack had bangers. Drew Sealy is the off-screen GOAT of mid/late 2000s DCOMs, his music can elevate even the weaker movies in DC's history.
Yes I was so shook when I found out Drew Seeley did all the singing! It makes sense because he's amazing though!
For me 1999-2004 were like the peak area of DCOM movies. Stuck in the Suburbs was in the tail end of timeframe and was one of the last DCOM movies I enjoyed.
You’re saying it was the golden age of DCOMS because I remember along with this there was also Zenon, Cadet Kelly, The Cheetah Girls
Honestly, one of the best titles ever for a DCOM
Haven’t thought of this movie in 10+ years. Like most of Brenda Song’s work, brings good memories
Disney's plan worked cause I remember rushing out to buy the Stuck in the Suburbs soundtrack after this debuted and 19 years later I still have the CD lol. Hands down best song is Over It by Anneliese van der Pol
Chelsea from That’s So Raven has always been that girl I stand by that. An underrated talent indeed.
Stuck in the Suburbs was the first DCOM to feature it’s own original soundtrack
This was one of my all time favorite DCOM movies and I still as a 27 year old want Natasha's outfit when she first walked into the school.
Its still a look
As someone who was stuck in the suburbs, i loved this movie. In addition i still love the song “outside looking in” Jordan Pruitt. Really a big part of my childhood. And cheetah girls😭
Dude, the sheer amount of work you do to give us THIS much quality content is astounding. Not to mention how much nostalgia overload I get being reminded just how many cartoons and shows we grew up with is insane. We don’t deserve you Jordan. ❤
This
More Than Me was the first song I added to my playlist on Spotify! This movie reminds me of happier times just worrying about homework 😅. And Brenda Song deserves her star next she carried Disney in her hands too!
I’m so glad you’re doing Disney channel movies now. Don’t forget “Don’t Look Under the Bed”. I remember that one being particularly dark/scary for a DCOM at least.
Your channel has been killer for longer, but 2023 was your year dude. Absolutely stoked to see the future!
The fact that the biggest thing I remember about this movie is the reveal that Natasha was from Buffalo really says how memorable it is. Still, I like all the main actors so it could be worse.
I noticed the hotel clerk was the guy who actually sang for Zac Efrain on high school musical, and potentially this movie to, I feel like they should have used him as the pop star actor for this.
Another comment said that they used Drew’s voice for Jordan 😭😭 that man was always behind the scenes for what??
Ngl I always felt this was one of the better DCOMs. I found myself really enjoying it rewatching it as an adult
If the early 2000s were condensed into a disney channel movie it would be this one. 😂❤
As someone who grew up in the Suburbs the DCOM Stuck in the Suburbs is really good!
I had a huge crush on Brenda Song when this movie came out lol
Bro this movie was amazing back then and none of my friends ever remember it! Danielle Panabaker is one of my favorite actresses. She was the reason I started watching Flash tv show lol
this was my favorite Disney movie. It was incredible.
Thank you so much for covering this one! For some reason, I've always loved Stuck In The Suburbs, it's one of my personal favorite DCOMs. The soundtrack also slaps.
This is one of those Disney movies that I both remember and don’t. I know I watched it but I remember nothing about it. I have faint memories about Pixel Perfect (mostly the hologram girls performances) but I remember nothing about this one 😅
For the first time, I have to say, “No. I don’t remember that. Not at all.”
I remember this movie. I still have the songs pop in my head sometimes. Plus girls my age always seemed to talk about how much they loved this movie. I liked it. But I had to be odd and loved The Other Me. My most watched DCOM would probably be Smart House
Edit: then Zenon, and Pixel Perfect. I'm starting to think I like the movies that had songs that stood out to me. I can hear the music in my head all the time.
Smart House is GOATED
I watched this movie constantly as a child. Loved it so much that I could even quote it, iirc. Haven't watch it in so long, this is clearly a sign that I should re-watch it ✨
I saw it and it's lived rent free in my head since I was 13 (when it came out) but honestly, I could not remember much of it past that it was a thing.
I swear I could literally feel the neurons reconnecting in my brain as I watched this video.
I had completely forgotten about this movie but I definitely used to love it when I was like 10.
This just unlocked a memory. I totally forgot of this movie
Love seeing the Game Boy Advance at 3:39.
This was personally one of my favorites in the day. It had a charm to it
This is one of them I actually enjoyed and the main song lives rent free in my head
Oh WOW, talk about a blast from the past, this video unlocked a tone of nostalgia and memories, so thank you
That "oowaa oowaa oowaa" song that plays during the commercial will always be a pinnacle sound of my childhood. Its called Down Down Down by Rob Lord.
I remember watching the premier live. Movie was kinda alright, just sorta there lol. Loved Anneliese van der Pool’s song from the soundtrack though. I still listen to it.
My favorite Disney channel movie. Brenda Song became my 4th grade fashion icon when this came out.
一緒に寝て is Japanese for sleep together. I used to learn Japanese until very recently. 😂 I remember seeing many commercials on Disney channel for Stuck in the Suburbs around the time the movie premiered in the summer of '04. Hard to believe that was nearly 20 years ago. They made two music videos for the movie including one by Anneliese Van Der Pol called Over It. I didn't understand the movie because I never really watched it. Brenda Song was also in earlier episodes of Phil of the Future until she costarred in the Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Her character Tia on the show ended up moving. Suburbia looks the same to me. I've lived in the suburbs for most of my life. 😄
I LOVED this movie and Danielle panabaker is LITERALLY mother i loved her in this Friday the 13 the remake the crazies remakes and the piranha 3dd as shitty as that was lmao she’s everything and I WISH we got her in more goddamn mainstream horror
Edit : OH CRAP I think she was in sky high too ? The plant power girl with the sick power reveal with the cheerleaders can someone please confirm ? 😭😭😭 I’ll check later but I’m so dang litty mctitties
Dang I remember actually being able to see this the day it premiered. Too bad I don't remember much of the movie aside from the cell phone switch part triggered the memory that I did see this
I Have Not Heard Or Seen This Movie
But thanks for talking About It
I LOVE this movie so MUCH I still listen to the songs sometimes when I'm feeling nostalgic the songs especially the Annalise song actually express how I feel about my life
I likw how you make the burbs seem. But im glad i grew up in the burbs. I basically grew up biking all over town, at all times of the day and night because the burbs are pretty safe. I feel like i had a movie like childhood because of it. Wed go down to the river and play. The same river, miles down was full of homeless people and drugs.
This is literally my favorite movie!!!
Loved this movie growing up
Me too
This was one of my favorite DCOMs
Bro you pulled this one DEEP out of the bowels of my brain 😂. Forgot I ever even seen this
First time I actually don't remember the show in question... maybe because I was that kid that watched nothing live action until late into hia teens...
...and Ned's Declasified
I have a memory watching this movie for the first time during that Dcom anniversary thingy Disney channel had a couple of years ago. I remember really liking the movie too but only saw it once or twice
This was the first DCOM I ever saw. I absolutely love rhis movie, I would look for jt constantly on iTunes to add fo my iPod and could never find it. More Than Me pop version and acoustic version are in my most played sonfs of the year every year on Spotify and UA-cam music. One of my all time favorite DCOMS ever.
My sister and I use to watch this all the time on Disney channel. Nostalgia! 💕🧸🫶🏽👍🏽🎤
I love, love, love this movie. I can't get enough of watching this movie. This is my all time favorite DCOM and I have the soundtrack to this movie.
I miss this era so much!
I loved Stuck in the suburbs! Still do!!
To me, this is one of those movies that I've heard of once, but never watched it growing up.
this is my second or third fringemas, i’m just happy to be here thanks guy.
This DCOM has been living rent free in my head too
i’m genuinely shocked i’ve never watched this, this definitely would have been something i would have watched on my own after passing by my sisters watching this. glad we gave Jordan to give me the lowdown on it
This was my favorite DCOM, actually, before cheetah girls came along. I love this movie so 🥹🩵
I was a fan of this movie back in the day.
I also didn’t realize Drew Seeley makes a cameo in this film. Nice!
THIS MOVIE WAS MY JAM!
This one was my favorite! I like it’s easy simple story plot haha
It's amazing how you can slap me in the face with nostalgia just when I'm getting over the slap from the previous video.
I loved this movie so much that my dad recorded it for me from the tv to a VHS with our vcr lol
Loving this 25 days of fringmas ❤
Over it by Annalise Van der Pol still has a chokehold on me personally
One of my favorites
It ain’t show friends it’s Show business- Scott Hall
The song over it was so good
1:47 Moodys Point, Spaulding
I’d love for you to The Ultimate Christmas Present! I love that one!
I remember a little bit about this, I haven’t seen this in years
This is my favorite DCOM of all time 😩😩👏👏😊
Finally remembered the name of this DCOM. I knew there was a DCOM that used the song Stuck in the Middle with You by Stealers wheels I just couldn’t remember the name of it.
I think about this movie from time to time.
I never forgot 🥺One of my favorite Disney movies
I know this is irrelevant but I love the 25 days of double fringemas intro 😂 I look forward to it every video
I loved this movie so much growing up and I haven't thought of it in years. It has it's flaws but that adds to the charm. It was just a happier time and this upload was such a welcomed surprise. I think I liked it so much because I was just getting into boybands at the time. Still love me so N*sync. I dreamed of meeting celebrities and becoming friends with them, so maybe that wasn't the best message to send young kids 😂 Although it was nice how they showed Jordan was person, not just a brand. I feel like a lot of Disney shows and movies did that. Starstruck and Camp Rock come to mind. Kind of ironic and sad, honestly.
Weird. At the time this DCOM came out, boybands were being phased out of the industry.
This movie is my comfort movie. An underrated Decom ❤️❤️
Your description of the Suburbs is spot-on. Sincerely, a suburbanite.
I loved this movie as a kid, I was 9 and remembered it fondly when it came out.
This was my favorite dcom as a kid
I was watching this movie the other day such a weird concept 😩🤣🤣
I’ve been rewatching all of the dcoms to follow along with a podcast I adore, and this movie was such a vibe to watch again as an adult 🫠
Of course I remember! The music was great!! Lol
the fact this movie came out in 2004, ah my back
One of my favorites!!!
The thing I remember the nosy was Natasha's football ball bag, truly iconic
Tarin Killham’s interview about this movie is hilarious!
They really did my mans dirty with that edge up tho
i never knew that the song good life that jesse mccartney sings was a cover i also have a very old dcom music dvd with that song on it along with cheetah girls and more
I LOVE THIS MOVIE lol it’s one thing that made me want to make music 😂😭😭😭
I hope it's an idea for a future video, but if not, we should at least mention the corresponding music video with movie. Said music video being Anneliese Van Der Pol's song, "Over it" where scenes from Stuck in the Suburbs overlaps the music video.
I barely remember this movie, but I remember I loved this and Wendy-wu as a kid.
Brenda was on phil of the future as well
Probably one of the biggest parts of my childhood
One of the classics dcoms please tell me your gonna do more dcoms specially the old ones to me they are the best ones
Taran Killam was such a random choice for a singer
When I read the title of this video I shouted "YES CAUSE MAD TV" and I didn't know what I myself meant for like a solid minute. And then I looked up the cast and realized I was talking about Taran Killam before I even knew what I was saying. Sleeper cell activated I guess.
