So glad you're feeling better and back! I had my own stuff to deal with over the holidays, but so looking forward to following my plans and goals as well. ::cheers::
My year is going great so far. I self published my second book last week, my third is with my editor, and I'm outlining book 4 right now. If I stay on track, I think I should be able to get 2 to 3 more books out this year, which is super exciting. I am also taking a page out of your plan, and investing in myself as an author. I've signed up for a course, which is a lot of fun so far. I hope you feel back at 100% soon. Covid made me super exhausted when I had it.
Thank you!! Yes, I'm so glad to be at this stage and it's fun knowing people like you and Madeline James are also getting going with querying as well. We all started our channels around the same time and it's so cool seeing us so many years later at this point!
You recorded this on my birthday! Glad you're feeling better and my big thing was said birthday and writing retreat in Cornwall for the weekend. Cold, beaches, hot tub, cabin in the woods, it was awesome!
Aww the 6th is also my grandma's birthday! She would have been 105. Happy belated birthday! I'm glad you had a great time in Cornwall! A cabin in the woods sounds just about perfect.
Good luck with your goals this year! It's sad about Junie, but I'm hoping knowing that they've reached a good age helps when the time comes. I've been on dog watch for the last year. Our previous dog died at 15 3/4 and so I've expected our George to go for the last 6 months or so (so morbid!). He's still with us, he's 16 on 24 January and is a pain at times. We've moved to Scotland and we haven't yet found jobs (definitely a goal for January!) but he's so clingy, has awful separation anxiety, especially with my husband, he can't leave a room without him following and he cannot be left alone. I'm NOT getting another dog, however much my husband wants it. I'd like a garden I can go in without finding little presents! A new project sounds good. I've heard that there is no point in wasting time on a series until there is interest with trad publishing but I suppose it's a fine balance, to have a second book ready is great but to have spent time on something when you could have been doing something with a better outlook for the future can be demotivating. I've only picked up my 176k WIP yesterday and added 600 words but I think I know what I have to do to take the story forward. I need to brainstorm, plot and stop procrastinating.
Aww I know how it feels to try to predict how much longer pets will be around. I hope George is able to say goodbye in a peaceful way at the right time. Good luck with getting the writing ball rolling again! It's always nice to have a bit of a break, but getting back into the flow can be tough.
Covid! Glad you are doing better. Good luck on the querying. That has to be exciting. This year I am working on a small town forbidden romance series. And this year I will be more of a plotter and less of a pantser. I love the idea of having my whole story plotted out. Makes me more productive. Your dogs are so cute!!!
Thanks! It definitely feels good to be at this point in this process. I _love_ a small town romance! Sounds like a fun project. I hope the plotting goes well--I've gotta have that complete outline, too.
2024 is off to a good start for me! I’m hoping that by the end of the year I will have finished my third book and that my second book will be already out on submission. I’m excited to follow your querying journey! ❤
Congrats on feeling better! I ended 2023 also sick/getting over being sick. It was probably Covid 😅. I'm hoping to start my querying journey this year too, but not until, like, summer. I will follow your progress with fingers crossed for you 🤞
haha you know you're an adult when... 🤪 It's not the most fun thing to do, but I've also seen what happens to folks who don't plan and I really don't want to end up there!
When I lost my taste and smell with Covid, my chiropractor for suggested 3x the daily dose of zinc and vitamin D3, within an hour my senses were back! I went weeks without smell and taste and it caused me great panic at first.
I'm glad you're feeling better! And I love your confidence.

Sometimes ones goals, for the year or for life, change in the blink of an eye! Definitely a whole new world for me in 2024. Glad I'm in it.
Very true. I hope 2024 is a year of peace and progress for you 🥰

Wow, that's fantastic! Congratulations 🥳 I hope the rest of the year goes just as well for you as this first week!
I'm so sorry you were so sick x
Good luck for all your plans ahead! I hope everything goes so great for you

Thank you! I hope all goes smoothly with books 2 and 3 this year. It'll be so exciting to have a second book on sub!
Ahh I'm so excited for you to start querying!
Thank you 🥳 I'm so ready to get going with this part of the process.
Best of luck with your querying journey. I'm a little over a year into my journey and hoping for good news soon.
Thank you! I hope you hear that good news very very soon 💕

Thank you 🥳 I hope you can hit the summertime querying goal for yourself!
Yay adult financing 🥰 proud of that goal too!

Oh, how weird! I wonder why that combo works? I think I've got most of the smell back now, thankfully!
Hi - new to your channel. The querying is exciting! :)
Welcome in and thank you! Glad you're here for the journey 🥰
