I wish they didn't stop the videos, sadly the content that gets views are absolute garbage and I block them all out. ( cha n nel blo ck er extension, highly recommend it )
Same. Other MTG tutorial videos tend to be very wordy, draggy and cocky. This one I enjoy the most - straightforward and easy to follow. So sad this channel has somewhat died. Wish they'd come back
Finally after searching so long a match of just regular beginner decks. Lots of videos of the starter decks but rarely see anyone actually using them to play.
I know this is old, but as a beginner player, I really enjoyed and learned a lot. Thank you for calling your moves as you play. That seems like great player etiquette to help everyone understand what everyone is doing throughout the game. ⚔️
Thank you for this. I’ve been wanting to get into mtg and this video made understanding the gameplay so much simpler than most of the boring instructional videos I have watched. Mainly because you guys explained each play as it unfolded!
I used to play Magic more than 20 years ago and only in the last month i started again with my wife... such a beautiful game !!! And your gameplay was so smooth, also with the accent made everything more EPIC !!!
Just basic gameplay with funny guys. Not a too-fast-paced tournament match with overpowered decks filled with the same cards. You helped me and my nine-year-old gets the basics. Thanks!
I understand this video is 10 years old, but my husband is super in mtg and i'm trying to learn to surprise him when he cant play with his friends. This video helped a lot (i'm a visual learner), thank you
@@donkzo1899 I have too many deck ideas already. Currently workshopping decks with phyrexian praetors. I'm mostly trying to use cards I already have so I haven't really considered budget for them
I'm new to the game so I've been watching some duels on UA-cam to learn. I think this is my favorite match so far just because of the pacing which makes it easier to learn but also the hilarious banter.
Me ang my wife just bought a MTG starter pack this really helps me/us how the gameplay work... Thou a didn't understand most of it espacially those special ability, counter, land, and instants..but this really helps as a beginner. TY .
gotta say when I saw that deadly recluse come out I was really disappointed red didnt have any creatures. I play a green deck and have 2 deadly recluse. Whenever my brother gets a dragon or 2, I bring those dang spiders right on in. The look on his face...
Great video guys, I’ve been playing MTG Arena for the past week or so, but want to get into the table top game & your video was really easy to follow especially when someone knows the basics. & your banter is 😂👏
Great vid, a lot of vids are really informative but I wanted an informative vid that used an example game, just so I could get a feel for how Magic is played, thank you sm ❤️
This was an awesome video! I already know plenty about Magic, but I don't have anyone to play with anymore. This duel was a lot easier to follow than this one tournament video I watched. I would LOVE for you to make more of these! Not just to teach beginners, but to entertain us!☀️🌲💧🔥💀
Around 1:50 you put down a create and tapped your 2 land cards. I thought you only had to tap the mana if you use the create to attack? You didn't on that turn. Sorry I am just learning to play this game. thanks
Awsome video . I'm new and learning to play . I've been trying to find videos that explain the game while playing . I still kinda don't understand the tapping and the dice
I’m actually glad you made that mistake with the kalonian tusk and the fog, I just played my first Arena game and did only stupid things. Now I feel less useless :)
Great game match you guys. I really enjoyrd your game play strategies. I learned alot as I'm beginning in Mtg myself. really informative video. A BIG THUMBS UP
0:12 I'm reading your cards and laughing xD Already looking forward to the rest of this video. xD You guys are hilarious! "haha your mind trick failed your highness" So many spiders O_O
11:03 I think its doesnt work attacking creature to creature (If he doesnt have some creature spell), opponent only attacking to opponent And then he choose blockers.
The red guy declared that he will use shock but the green guy can activate the creatures ability before shock lands thus healing himself for 4 (since its gonna die anyway)
Can you put an echant on the other player's creature? Cause I got this card that gives a -2/-2 on a target creature but it sounds pretty stupid to put on your own creature :|
At 5:06 I didn't understand how this card works. So you looking cards from library from the top, when you reach 3 land cards, do you shuffle the other cards?
Don't quote me on this since I'm just learning myself, but I think they used what's called a "friendly mulligan" in which they both decide to do a do-over.
So hey I’m new to this whole thing and all of it is very confusing. What type of the game is this? Like is it just regular magic? And how many cards are supposed to be in a deck?
Magic The Gathering is a Trading Card Game (TCG for short). What do you mean regular magic? There are 60 cards in total that you can play and use. If you're in a draft, then the limit is 40 cards.
10yr later and this does a better job at teaching the game then 99.9% of most magic content out there. And still made it fun to watch

Exactly what I've been looking for. So many gameplay vids or streams are so fast paced. This really helps you nail down the basics. Thanks!
You're welcome Steven! We mostly play for fun, and teach a LOT of new players, so we keep it friendly and simple. Really glad it helped!

I love the small channels that have amazing content
Played this game when I was 13 (now 31) and stumbled on this video, pure nostalgia 🙂

Wow I wish you had more of these! Good basic gameplay with explanation, showing the cards, and some fun banter on top of it! From a beginner, thanks!
Just found this video - thanx for putting g a mighty big smile on my face guys 😁

Loved the way you were saying the names of the cards great job guys
i like how they show you everycard they play. very nice and helpful
Thanks for the video.
I have not seen a Magic game since last century. My gosh, the game has changed.
After a week of trying to understand the gameplay of magic I can finally say I could follow along with this game 😂😅
i do declare... that this was a nice video
Caloooooooonian Tusker....
For the Boar, is it considered sacrificed since it was killed by an instant from the red deck? At 09:50
Nice. I'm currently switching games from Yu-Gi-Oh to MTG, looks cool. Can't wait to try it out.
LOL, you were hilarious and great to dust off the magic rules :)
Awesome video! Colonial Tusker and James Spader for the win😂😂

Great video, I like that you call the steps and that you show the cards up that is being played as its hard to see from the camera only.
That fog save in the beginning was nice
Wish there were more people like you
James Spader/Spider would be proud, well done gentlemen
Bonus points for the Stargate reference!

Reminded me of when I first started playing with my brother
Take a drink everytime you hear "I'll play a land and pass"
How can you sacrifice something when its already destroyed? @ 9:51
Liam Gajewski He wasn't destroyed yet I don't think
The red guy declared that he will use shock but the green guy can activate the creatures ability before shock lands thus healing himself for 4 (since its gonna die anyway)

Aren’t creatures supposed to enter tapped or have I been playing wrong this entire time (great content btw) 7:07

Target creature = Any creature
Yes you can you can even put a +1/+1 enchant or higher on an enemy if you really wanted to
ive been playing yugioh for some years, its slowly paced and very cozy for new players
learn a lot from this, really good video for a beginner like me!

I never understood card games except Pokémon but it was interesting to watch

You search for 3 lands then shuffle your deck
@@crock_gfx8644 I figured it out but thanks anyways :)
What was the last card that Jonathan slammed down the moment Richard attacked directly at him for the winning blow?

Thanks guys really helped me understand the game
11:42 i've never laughed so hard on my own !
