No it was black when retired and on display in Portland. Then it went BNSF black in 2002. If you’re thinking of it’s appearance in “come see the paradise”, it’s dirty.

Did 4449 ever have red driving wheels? I remember seeing some footage of it with a reddish orange tint on them, maybe it was dust from the desert though.

It’s called “high combustion” by Craig Palmer. It appeared in a lot of NFL videos.
