- How to bring purpose into a fluid painting?! I'm working on it...
I always have, that's why I'm here. WELCOME new and old friends!
Traditional pouring can be challenging when working with a medium that basically does what it wants. Coincidence is a huge part of the charme of fluid art.
Practice, a sense of color and knowing how your paint behaves is needed once you want to bring intention into a painting.
I come from traditional painting and I missed that when I started working with fluid art.
Purpose and Intention. I know, we will never get the coincidence out of fluid art and that's good but my challenge is to be in charge (Control freak problems...)
So, watch me here showing you what I came up with so far to get me further towards that aim.
Thanks for joining me on the journey of experimentation and creation!
You know, that liking, sharing and subscribing really helps, so thank you so much for that!

I know this is an old one, but, gosh… I really love this. You hooked me in the beginning with your subtle colour palette, and I’ve been along for the journey into hide ‘n’ reveal and expanded use of colour. I’ve loved the development and change (you are a gifted artist), but I must say that my eye prefers your older work… like this one. Lovely!
It is gorgeous ! Your videos are so helpful for the beginner I am. Thank you so much dear Jessica. You are a great artist and a very Good teacher. My pieces are a desaster but I don’t discourage myself. I learn,I’m testing, experimenting and I feel a lot of joy and peace when I paint. Thank you for being a huge inspiration. Love & Light😘💝
Oh I just love your personality and quirk!!! It makes me smile. You are amazing my friend. So glad you came to the Tube. You are a NATURAL!!! ❤️
Thanks so much, Garrick! When I saw your spark on your first video I thought, I could never do this… now I’m here and so very happy to be surrounded by so much talent and love!
Awesome! Love your perspectives. Your paintings allow for the depth of your mind to imprint so many infinite possibilities. What you said about staying calm and conscious so you can react is the wisdom that shines through in your paintings. I love starring into your paintings.
Thank you so much for this, Lucy! It means a lot
Jessica One more time you created an amazing work. I am a fan of your talent and your humble funny way of teaching. Bravo and Thank you.
I love your work and I would very much like to see you do a tutorial on recycling and conscious practices. Your impulse to do such a video is yet one more reason I enjoy your channel.
The outcome is beautiful 😍 and your comments are spot on. It saddens me to read the heightened frustration in people who chase the bloom instead of going with the flow.... the acrylic flow.
Love your personality.
Your a joy to watch and a welcomed relief ☺. Looking forward to the collab.
I agree, the point of creating should be being creative...experiment, see what happens and have fun with it without judgement. Thanks for watching
All three were special and beautiful, but I get you’re striving for something you see in your mind. Great technique!
Thank you so much!
I like the idea of a video on recycling paints!
I believe that intention is somewhat possible. What we do is like trying to tame the river. That's what we love. ❤
Taming the river…! Yesss
I love watching you paint. I’m very interested in hearing more about recycling paint 💖
Thank you so much for letting me know. I’m working on it but it will take me a little more time…
Your work is very very interesting! Love your idea of recycling paint too. Looking forward to it. Thank you.
Thank you so much. I’m happy you like what I do!
I will definitely do a recycling tutorial further down the road. It’s very important to me and I’m glad that people seem to be interested in it, too.
I'd be happy for anything you want to show us. Thank you for adding UA-cam!
Haha, be careful what you wish for...! It took me a while but i finally made it...!
Thank you for taking us through this in real time. I’ve learned so much from this video . No rush. I see so many videos sped up.
So good to hear. I'm so glad you learned from it. That means I'm on the right track...
Thank you
I love the composition. And everything about this!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for watching, michelle!
The Hoff!!!! I love your purposeful painting and your super fun video.
Haha! The Hoff is a national hero where I come from…! 🤓
Love seeing you and your videos! So fun and authentic
Thank you so much, nik! Right back at ya!

Thanks so much 😊 Yes, the primary elements are beautiful!
I found your channel a couple of days ago and am binge-watching & subscribed! One thing I need to practice is swiping. And the other is to relax and let it happen! Thank you for your fine instruction!
Hi, Mr. Peabody! Welcome aboard. Sorry for the late response, I’m truly happy you’re here
Beautiful Jessica! Lots of interest and detail. I enjoy hearing your share your process.
Thank you Mandy!
Sorry I’m so late in commenting about a video on recycling paints….I just saw this video this evening! I really enjoy your videos and your tips! 😉
Thank you so much for your feedback! I have gathered a lot of material about recycling. All I need is time to edit it all...
Super! Congrats!❤
Yes, please, about the recycling paint video.
Good to know! Thanks for that feedback
I agree with everything you said. Beautiful. Love your videos. Thank you.
Awesome! Thank you so very much.
It’s gorgeous! Thank you for doing this particular tutorial, I was looking forward to it ever since I discovered your earlier work!!! Thank you 🙏❤️ And you are so thoughtful and mindful I love it.
Thank you, Inna! Yes, I am kinda side tracked by the transfer swipe thing. And it took over all my interest at the moment. But I will do more videos with just ‘painting’.
Love this painting. I’m really enjoying your videos. Thanks.
Yay! That’s so good to read. Thank you for being here!
Inspirational.....You are talking my language.......LOVE IT
I knew there would be someone out there understanding what I’m talking about…!
I just love your work Jessica. I also love watching you! Ur so funny. I agree…you have to go with the flow. Looking forward to your collab! I don’t know Cindy (i can’t wait to see her work) but I love Niki & Michelle. ❤️
Oh, you have to check her out. I could not only watch her work forever, I could also just listen to what she has to say…her color choices are phenomenal, in my opinion
@@WinterStromArt I definitely will. Heading over to subscribe right now! ☺️
Your thoughts during the painting brings understanding to the beautiful piece. The instruction you gave has given me new direction too. I love your art! Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas
That is wonderful. I guess my job here is done… 🤓
Thanks Lisa!
I'm so happy to see this today, I'd been admiring it on the wall in your last video!
Before you spun I saw a fantasy village with a mountain on the left. Absolutely gorgeous 💙
I wasn’t sure about it at first but it’s one of my favorites paintings now. Thanks Niki! 🌸
Love the 2 different blue colors!!!! Just adding little of the gold cell activater was a good idea. Love this painting my youngest son would love this painting his favorite colors are blue green or turquoise and black. Love the awesome swipes!!!
Hehe, sounds like your sons are very different from each other. 💕 thank you, Peggy

Loved your video!! This painting turned out beautiful. Can't wait for the collaboration 🎨🎨🎨
Thank you so much! It's gonna be so much fun!
thank you for sharing your talent with us! I've been so frustrated with the outcome of my pieces. You've shown us how it is so important to be thoughtful about the process. If I can slow down.... who knows!
Oh, i like such a small amount of my paintings. I’d say 30% of what I do survives. But I keep all the experience!
great ..
Terrific!,- love your work and how calmly you approach composition
Thank you so much. 🍓!
up to 7:10 it looked like pagoda's my imagination loved the idea how ez it was to make it look that way
I know! Isn't that cool!?
😊
Jessica absolutely incredible artwork. Your pouring technique is inspiring me to tryout transfer swipes too. Many thanks for sharing your experiences. Have a nice & creative further weekend.👏👍🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️😊😊😊👨🏻🎨
Thank you so much for your support! And thanks for being here!
@@WinterStromArt Hi Jessica it’s me an absolutely pleasure to comment extraordinary artworks like yours. Have a nice Sunday evening 😊👨🏻🎨
I do love all your paintings!
What a nice thing to read! Thank you
This is gorgeous. You explain everything so well. You have an amazing talent.thank you! ♥️
Im glad you think so! I’m not sure sometimes since English is just my second language. This helps. Thank you!
@@WinterStromArt well you certainly wouldn’t know that English is your second language. I forgot to mention that I would be very interested if you did a video on scraped paint. Thanks and have a great day.
Your not only entertaining but really talented. Love your channel. Totally agree about the bloom but I would love to see other ways to use the technique
Thanks so much! I’m working on it…! 🤓
I love your videos! This is magic!😍
Thank you so very much! ❤️
I love your videos!! When you first swiped it reminded me of Pagodas…. I lived in China for a few years and took a painting class from a Chinese artist. Their paintings on rice paper is with very watery inks and their brushes. They kind of swipe with the side of their brush for certain effects. Seeing you use the altered pressures gave me an idea to try this with my fluid painting to try to achieve an Asian style! This is soooo interesting! Thank you for sharing your talents and teaching so well!! 🥰
wow that sounds amazing! Link me somehow so I can see what came up with
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Glad you like it ! ♥️
Wow Just Stunning Jessica 🥰
Thank you so much!
Very pretty!👍🏼🥰👏
Thanks so much, Teri!
Oh and I just got a 3 pack of spreaders and I'm so excited to try them out tomorrow.
Oh, I wanna see!
@@WinterStromArt I'll IG you after I try them out!

Thank you for your feedback. Your reassurance helps a lot!
You have no know you’re always on the cutting edge of creativity ❤️❤️❤️
As long as I don’t hurt myself… 🤓 thank you, I appreciate your words!
Absolutely Gorgeous!!!!!! Thanks for all the info and sharing with us 🤩💕
Oh, you’re welcome. Thank you for watching and giving me feedback! That helps a lot 🍓
I just love your style in both presenting and the beautiful art you do. Your whimsical approach is soooo refreshing. Thanks!💕
Thank you so much for your feedback, sherry! I hope I can keep it up
Gorgeous 👌🏼
Thank you so much! 🍓
This is Fabulous.. I swear ur magic 🤩
We all are magic ! And I'm pretty sure you're full of it!
Absolutely STUNNING!!
Learned a lot from the way you do this and explain it … Beautiful 🤩
Thank you so much for the feedback. Sometimes I’m not sure, if it only makes sense in MY head…
this is really really good!!! I love 💕 it!!
Thank you so much. It was a lot of fun, too! Thanks for stopping by, Paulette!
This is fabulous. I love your technique and your quirky personality is causing me to do what I swore I would not...subscribe to another artist. 😉 Your into to this video is what won me over. I have become a bit bored with artists that just pour and look at what happened.
Thanks so much, Michelle! I feel very honored 🤍. I come from traditional painting but always liked working with coincidence. I think, combining fluid art and ‘real painting’ is super interesting and a total new challenge.
@@WinterStromArt I began doing abstracts using texture gels which is very intentional. So pouring has been a very different adventure.
I just your work beautiful work
Thank you so much 😀
Looked like a Japanese village for a minute!
I love your style. I just found you while on Niki’s site. Your work is beautiful and unique. I love it!
Thank you so much for being here! I’m glad you enjoyed it, Pam!
Ahh girl it's so true...I love doing blooms...but they don't challenge me anymore and I find myself less and less intrigued by them because I feel like I have mastered the technique. Hence why I'm working on multi blooms or composition with multiple blooms with stems.... Oye...I have way too many ideas...a bit overwhelmed by them..
Love this !!! I just kept thinking there was a mythical creature hidden in this piece....
It’s hard to make blooms be unique, but you do! You keep developing your ideas one by one and it’s gonna be amazing!
@@WinterStromArt thanks, girl ❣️❣️ sometimes I get fearful and chicken out with certain ideas...
I'm working on that 😅
Yes please on recycling paint! I'm late to the party, so maybe I missed it?
You have not missed it. I'm gathering video material right now. It will take me a little more time but it's gonna happen! Stay tuned
You’ve got such a brilliant personality! I love your work, it’s very different from other fluid artists on here. So much thought went into this piece, it’s absolutely stunning. 🙏🏻🌻🌻🌻 New subscriber here.
Hi! Thanks for your kind feedback! And thanks for being here!
Hello... I admire your works and I never get tired of analyzing these cells. I read your description of the material used, but I don't know the quantities because I don't understand English at all. I would love to know details of the materials used and the quantities because I really want to make some canvases like yours. Thank you for your attention and looking forward to your collaboration
I have a complete tutorial about the recipe. Check it out maybe it helps. I explain in it that I Can’t tell you exact measurements since every paint is different.
This is outstanding!!!! I love it! And you crack me up! It must be the name, Jessica is my daughter's name. I am really enjoying watching your videos.
awww, thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it. Say Hi to your daughter from me! Thanks for stopping by, Charlene!
Before you span it it looked like Chinese pagodas or fairy castles in a landscape.
Absolutely!
great technique and explanation ... also a beautious result :) - may I ask what you feel the BoomGel does / adds to the overall effect? thanks again for all your vids .... Around the 10 minute mark it looks like an abstract of Japanese style pagoda / temples ... ( fwiw)
Yes it does!
So, what I like about the BoomGel is when used right next to the cell activator, it frames the outline of the cells. It’s very dark and stretchy. It won’t get grey or lose its intensity in any way. I never use it as one of my lower layers, it’s so thick it won’t spread out much. I hope this made sense
thanks for replying😀
another vote for recycling paint and canvases once paint is dry!
I will definitely do that! Thanks for voting!
Maybe you can give an explanation of my BLOOMS..NOT YOUR FAVORITE..I know..sorry. My 18x18 canvas has 3 blooms…the outside of each, started fracking on the outside of each…then my blooms started fading on the outside of each..What happened? Please if you know…..Love your thoughts and style so much.
Do you follow me on Instagram? Send me a pic so I can understand better, if you have one. I had weird things happen when the weather is too hot. One time my whole composition just melted and dripped down the sides. If you can rule this out, possible you left too much paint on your painting or your whole mix was maybe too thin. It’s very hard to find the real reason unless you try things out and observe. But these are the things that came to my mind spontaneously
Everything i pour is with Holy Intention.xo
Perfect! 🤓
I can’t see the video anymore 😭😭
What a shame you had to spin off the pagodas. But still ended up beautiful.
Pagodas! Yes! I know, a shame. Oh well, one day I’ll learn.
