- Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com discusses the Fever's 102-66 blowout loss to the New York Liberty - one of the best teams in the league. The Fever shot 36.7%, made only five 3s, were outscored in the paint 48-28 and held to two fast break points.
It was a disappointing performance considering the interest level because of Caitlin Clark: a sellout crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, more than a hundred media members, a national TV broadcast on Prime Video and a ton of buzz.

Very disappointed in Wheeler and Boston icing Clark out. Sides' comments about pride and confidence. Yikes. Third quarter was pg1 in 3rd and they reduced the deficit to 11. 4th quarter when Wheeler was pg1 and Clark was pg2 they totally unraveled. How about set some screens for your shooter Clark. Wheeler and Clark shouldn't be on the court at the same time. Pass to Clark ffs. Sides takes no responsibility for the loss. Sad.
I was for being patient, but have decided no more. The coach is an arrogant duffous who is squandering her chances of success.

CC can't do it by herself.
Fever plays and players not giving CC22 any confidence on court. If Sides is a defensive coach, it doesn't seem to bode well for Clark as a playmaker and scorer.

Sides has to take some responsibility for the losses , she can’t keep blaming the team , the buck stops with her ,Clark can’t get a lot of points ,if her teammates want to keep the ball, something needs to turn around soon
I loved what Katie Lou had tonsay in the press conference. She gets it and isn't afraid to say it. It really sucks they won't be able to have much of a practice before Saturday.
Get rid of Sides!!!! She is awful & holding back Caitlin~
CC is playing does not have teammates, just people on the court. She should tell the Fever get me help or trade me.

I agree. Furthermore , Caitlin was the point guard at Iowa, controlling the game.. She was at point guard at the Fevers two WNBA exhibition games - getting one win and a close loss by only 3 points. As point guard Caitlin was controlling the ball, and a proven winner at that position. But the coach complained about her having " bad habits." 🤔So, tonight the coach changed it up and put Caitlin as a shooting guard waiting to get the ball, but they couldn't get it to her. That to me is bad coaching. Caitlin needs to be at point guard, bringing the ball down the court, controlling the game. Then, they could become a winning team.
I believe there is something definitely wierd about the team atmosphere.

The #WNBA schedules are too dense, they need to put more days between games. Please give players and teams time to recharge.
I think coach Sides need to decide wether to ride and die with the team flow last year or with the success of CC flow for past many years. If they are not winning last year then plugging CC to that will not create that much. Sides might need to put focus on CC and set the entire team on how to optimize CC flow to win
This game was also broadcast live on Dayton Ohio free broadcast channel 22.3. I think that channel is called THE NEST.

Fever was 13/27 last season…. Nothing has changed. Defence was appalling! Fever averaged 4,000 attendance last season…. 17,000 for this game was due to CC. Coach must build the team around CC’s scoring capabilities…. Or this will be a very long season.
