I met Brad once during his nomadic period. We were on a team trip for a clothing company going from Sydney to Adelaide in 2011 filming an edit. We stumbled across him in Canberra, he ended up coming with us on the bus to Melbourne then went his own way across the world again haha. I was already a fan and knew who he was from his Shook part. It’s been awesome watching him blow up and finally get the recognition he deserves this last year or so.
So stoked on this. Hell yeah, Brad! Well deserved... This had some good emotional moments. Talking about his motivation after getting let go of Merritt got Dennis so amped, haha. Loved that. LASIK!
I’m so happy that you listened to us and got that interview. Brad is a private person but he showed up gave face. The rest is history, forget about seasoned rider this guy been marinated since jr high school. What a great surprise with that award! I almost shot a tear bro Fudger you are incredible and Denis is so professionally kind to your guest. I’m happy Tom Dugan made a phone call and F-it happens. Nora been sleeping on Brad thanks to the fans he got one and the cat blessed it!$$$$ Highest 180s in the Game!
Nice interview, Simms is one of the best on a BMX bike ever. The old mega tour with bulldog bikes and the shook part where he 180s the barrier are forever burned into my brain for good reason. Congrats on the NORA cup.
Brad is hands down one of the best bike riders on the planet. Hard to believe he went so long without a sponsor. Glad he's back on the up again within the industry. Well deserved Nora cup.
What I've noticed about the success of freelance work relative to the pursuit of passion is marketability. Painting your success in a way that perpetuates motivation in others. Brad's perpetual imagery is very motivating.
Fantastic. Brad is a great, genuine guy, you can just tell. Inspirational and well mannered. Congrats to the rest of you for such a good interview, I don't know if I ever enjoyed one this much.
I've been a fan of Brad since he was in Road Fools, and I never understood why he never caught on with fans or sponsorships. I'm stoked that people are finally realizing how sick he is, on and off a bike.
This was a really good podcast, I was already a fan of Brad and now I am an even bigger fan, such an inspiration for real, and such a badass! My favorite part was when he was talking about being dropped by Merritt and he said "now I'm going to fucking show you" (or something like that lol) I had goosebumps because that's exactly what he did, fucking showed them, he's been on a tear ever since, but that was grimy as fuck how that dude at Merritt treated Brad, you don't do that to friends.
Brad suits fit, reminds me of the old edwin days where his street riding changed alot of things, i think brad will help bring back the good old fit days, well deserved!!
love the stuff on the walls, would be cool if you took 2-3 minutes to share what is actually up there. Sick video too. Good morning listen vibes. Thanks Ryan,Dennis,Justin, and Brad!!
Makes you feel old aye. Funny how such a powerful platform can fade without trace. I’d pay good money to climb down into that rabbit hole just for 1 day Stacking Scream grabs 😔
Since a while ago i saw BMX riders as regular human beings, dont take me wrong i feel great respect for the talent they have and that's it but the way Dennis looks Brad like with huuuuge respect is awesome that even a dude like Dennis that can do almost everything in a bike feel that much respect from Brad, like if he was watching a childhood hero
Dennis is always so intense. Ha and no one knows if all of Simms stories are legit or true. I like the guy but really? 100+ countries just by people inviting you out? Is this dudes family rich af or what? How could he afford those travel expenses by his age and his life style? I’m just curious, I’m not dissing
Damn. Such a bummer they mention how not everyone is going to get their bmx spot shine. I was killing it, but only at my locals and never found or looked for any sponsors. I still see some riders I could rough up in a minute. Maybe some day I’ll get the smallest recognition
Dennis just came in with a lot of energy because he was excited to have Brad on the podcast. Brad had a very healthy travel budget for several years and didn’t live lavishly while on the road. You should be inspired by what he’s done, not doubt it.
Can you guys please bring on the animal original crew on...kids of today needs to know the history and the life stories of these riders and how we don't see them anymore, the life also after bmx
I was one of those kids that asked him to come to south-Africa...he replied as said fly me over...I was so bummed coz I was so broke and the South-Africa RAND to the DOLLAR was insanely high $1 was equal to R15 so that was no way that was happening...I still wish he would come to cape town south africa
56:23 I think anyone who follows Pros who have been around for decades to just see the same tricks is in it for the wrong reasons. Like If I say Ryan Nyquist you immediately can picture his style, same with Steven Hamilton or even Chris Doyle, Fuck even Montana Ricky has his very own style.
Currently the best pound for pound rider. The stuff he does, only HE does.
The Roy Jones jr of bmx

I feel like there's so much to talk about with Brad that an hour barely scratched the surface, cool interview
So stoked on this. Hell yeah, Brad! Well deserved... This had some good emotional moments. Talking about his motivation after getting let go of Merritt got Dennis so amped, haha. Loved that. LASIK!

Stoked to hear Brad on the podcast, he’s been one of my favorite riders forever. Inspired me to get a white frame back in 2010, absolute legend.

I had to watch brad grab the cup several times...true emotions, you could see his face pucker like he was about to cry...such a true moment
He kept it cool, but if you know Brad, he was hyped. Glad I could make that happen. 😃

I’m a skateboarder who only casually follows BMX but I can say that Brad is easily my favorite rider of all time.
That was great! Congrats to Brad for the award. Funny- Dennis might have been more stoked than Brad was! Love what you guys do!
Thank you! 😃

I've been a fan of Brad since he was in Road Fools, and I never understood why he never caught on with fans or sponsorships. I'm stoked that people are finally realizing how sick he is, on and off a bike.

Right? Best moment for sure.
I bet that guy at Merritt kicks himself every day since. I want to say nasty shit but knowing he has to live with his decision is pain in itself 😈
Awesome stuff guys. Great little surprise too.
Brad suits fit, reminds me of the old edwin days where his street riding changed alot of things, i think brad will help bring back the good old fit days, well deserved!!

brad is the man. never knew he was from md
Humble shredder. Brad deserves all he's getting, hard work - shit man, it's paid off. Kids take note.
Listening to Brad's traveling stories made me think that Walter Pieringer would be a great guest on the show.
He would for sure.
This dude is so dope. Complete individual.
love the stuff on the walls, would be cool if you took 2-3 minutes to share what is actually up there. Sick video too. Good morning listen vibes. Thanks Ryan,Dennis,Justin, and Brad!!
Yooo love Brad! Never knew he had bad eyesight! Makes his riding even more gnarly!
Dennis was realllly not feeling the poster selling LOL

It’s nuts that’s his issue is finding opportunities and not choosing which he wants and which he doesn’t.
There was soooooo much tension in the room
Between us? How so?
Dennis is always so intense. Ha and no one knows if all of Simms stories are legit or true. I like the guy but really? 100+ countries just by people inviting you out? Fudger is low key a hater on all new things haha he adapts, but first he hates
Haha. There could be some truth to that, but what specifically are you talking about? Been a while since I watched brad’s episode... -Ry
