As it happens, mine arrived yesterday, I spotted Cult Pens had it on offer and as I also had a discount code from the London Pen Show, I pounced. No regrets at all, it's magical. I got mine in an EF which writes like an F. I am using Diamine x Cult Pens Deep Dark Orange which suits it very well.
Dang it. I was not all that interested in this pen before you made this review. But after hearing how it is made and watching those colors dance when the pen is turned.... sigh. Guess what just made it to a top spot on my dream pen list? It's soooo beautiful!
Though not the "pen of the year" featured in the 2023 Hub, the design and ad images for this pen featured notably in the swag Hanover distributed last year. Gorgeous pen, indeed! Today I brought a couple of real Pelikans (not this one) and several fake Admocks to pen club. Funny how nice the barrel material and the nibs are on the Admock, and how very lightweight the modern Pelikans are. Still getting the runaround with the outfit that sold me the Admock 800s, though. How about yours?
This pen really is really irresistibly beautiful. 🤩 I think I once saw it in a shop. I could only suppress to buy it with the greatest effort of will (or because of the price? 😉). With so many iridescent colours, I wouldn't even know which ink to fill it with. 🌈 Thank you very much for this again pleasantly entertaining and beautiful video! 🥰
Wow! I love everything about this pen except the price. Thanks go out to you and Murray. Nice video. PS: maybe Murray can adopt me and buy the pen for me as a Christmas present. 😂
@@InkquiringMinds well, Pelikan advertising tells us that the artwork that inspired this pen was submitted; in a competition; in 1909 and was subsequently purchased by Pelikan. I can't find any mention of it in any art gallery listing, nor can I find any photos of the original poster, other than what Pelikan shows us, but if you purchase the pen it's my understanding that you get a book that shows several examples of the avant garde poster artwork of the time. I've seen the book and flipped through it, but don't remember a whole lot except that it's nice. I bet Murray has that book unless he purchased the pen second hand.
What a luscious pen! I have thought about getting a version of the M600. This one is out of my price range but any M600 would be a worthy addition to my collection.
@@InkquiringMinds I saw your video on fixing singing nibs. I think I will soon give it a try. Thank you for the incredibly useful content you continue providing.
I used to have this pen 2 months ago. But i returned it due to "nib" problem. It was indeed a beautiful pen. I wish I ordered it in F instead of EF. :( I got a full refund for it.
It's a welcome difference to have a splash of colour on a Pelikan.
I agree! If it were an M800 it would be perfect!
I so agree-really wish Pelikan would consider this in an M800 or M1000. I’d be sold on it!!🤩

Thanks for sharing!
Very nice finish on the pen! Thanks for sharing it with us Doug!
Thanks for watching
I had thought, well, that's nice when I saw this pen advertised. Now, you have shown an astoundingly magnificent pen. Thanks, Professor!
My pleasure!

LOL
Congratulations 🎉
The advertising blurb just explains that the pen design and colors are based on the artwork in the poster that is included in the original box.
Yes! Which was the winning poster design decades ago.

A valid point on the nib. I have a Pelican with an ef nib and it writes like a fine. A little too thick for me
Yes. That seems to be true for everyone that the nib write a size thicker.

I was concerned about the size of an M600 being too small for me. But, when posted, they are a comfortable size and shape.
@@InkquiringMinds it is certainly larger than the M205 I have and a bit (well more than a bit) small for my hand.
Does Murray keep all his pens inked up just in case you or Stephen pop in to borrow one?
Seems like it!
Do I hear singing nibs? Most of my Pelikans sound like this. I haven´t dared work on the nibs yet.
Yes. It sang quite a bit more. It isn't my pen so I brought it back to Murray and had him micromesh it a bit.

Pure beauty 😍😍😍😍😍
Go Murray !
Careful with that, you might summon Brazilians here, jokes apart, it's a very nice looking pen, i quite like how they made the body.
It is beautiful in the light!

Sorry it didn’t work out for you!
@@InkquiringMinds its ok :) its not meant for me :)
Lovely pen, but a wee bit out of my budget. All the same, thanks for another fine post.
Fair enough!
