Alex Higgins played the best shots ....lots have never be seen ? He has a talent unmatched....he is snooker....top work Quint 🎱
Seen him play an exhibition in my hometown. He was marvelous. Fortunately for me I got to meet him later on in my life. I ended up moving to Belfast and ran about with Alex nephew. Sadly at that time his illness was getting worse. But he did still drink his Guinness in the Swan in Belfast regardless
And it was smaller hole that time
LEGEND😎👍🏻 Hurricane Higgins is a True Legend. My Snooker Hero. RIP CHAMP❤
If one imagines that the professionals do those shots with only one chance and in often very tight competitive situations, this just blows one's mind.
Well done, they were incredibly difficult
If you can recreate Jimmy White's Masse Hamburg shot that will be unbelievable 😎✌
I did at some point can’t remember when. Actually it might have been in the Jimmy White best shots video I did
This is one of the best videos I've seen on your channel. I am lucky enough to be able to generate a tonne of spin with a powerful and accurate cue action but that Higgins shot was special and why people actually first fell in love with the game of snooker.
Who doesn't love a bit of snooker FLAIR😎
Your Alex Higgins screwback attempt seems to be missing something. If you watch the original shot, the cue ball zips off both the first and second cushion. Your attempts, the cue ball seems to really die off the second cushion. Might there have simply been a bit of chalk smudge on the second cushion which can cause a big bounce? Are your cushions a little less reactive? Could you make the shot if you smear a bit of chalk over the black cushion rail? Wonder what your thoughts are after your attempts, especially considering your table probably plays a little quicker than the 80s tournament tables.
No I don't think it's any of what your saying it's Hinggis cue power what the difference is and of course the tables back then where slower which makes it even more amazing I don't think Jimmy white could of got that much cue power even it his best. I would probably say Judd trump maybe could do it. Higgins probably must of had a bit of side on the white as well.
Alex Higgins was the player that got me interested in snooker. All of the re-creations were entertaining because of the difficulty. Great post, thank you.
Enjoyed this one, watching from Singapore
Of course the Alex Higgins's shots are the most amazing, so entertaining
nice shots! greetings from Gent, Belgium
Excellent, as always 👌
Thank you, snooker best vids of all time.
Alex Higgins was years ahead of his time. He could use ALL varieties of spin like no one else ever could. He could hold the cue ball from anywhere. In modern conditions, he wouldn't need as much. When you consider how hard it was back then to just screw back at a decent distance.
Have you attempted the Higgins blue from the 1982 world championship semi final where pots it into the green pocket & screws it to the side cushion above the centre pocket & it spins back towards the back?
Great video. Would love to see more recreations of shots from 1980s and earlier
Perfect upload timing, I’ve just made a brew. Love the videos
Heloo!! Watching you from IRAQ 🇮🇶
Hello idol! Watching from Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia 🇲🇾
Learning a lot from you. From India🇮🇳
I remember that break from Martin Gould, it was pure chaos!
Great video as always. Can tell you've increased your editing in this one and it was very well done 🙂
Michael Holt really doesn't like you does he?😅
Keep up the good work
He's a miserable bastard
love ur efforts to recreate all shorts❤
These videos are really teaching me how to play.. Love you from Isfahan Iran 🇮🇷 ❤️
Amazing video!!!, well done with the recreations.
Fan from Dubai, UAE !
Greetings from Hong Kong n I love your videos so much ❤
I think the Alex Higgins brown shot, despite being similar tables, just remember the professional tables use metal block cushions while yours likely has wood. Metal plated cushions give more consistent reactions.
You just keep amazing me 💙
Nice content!
Greetings from Helsinki Finland 🇫🇮
Break from Life is a fantastic channel! No offensive words, dry humour , informative and entertaining content! What about an upload about your snooker journey?
Have you tried recreating the two Alex Higgins shots from a famous private match with John Virgo? With pink and black remaining, he pots the pink down the cushion when he can't see the pocket, then pots the black into the middle one handed. Both while a long way from sober.
first of all thanks a lot for making these videos and providing us with the opportunity to learns all these skills.
concerning pots along the cushion I did the opposite of what u said " if the pocket is on the right we use left hand side, and if the pocket is on the left we use right hand side"
for example if I wanna pot an object ball in a pocket to the right I use right hand side and I aim as if I'm going to miss the object ball by a fraction and it's working everytime I use it, specially with long cushion pots.
Mahmoud from Dakhla Morocco.
surprised jimmy's top spin shot on the pink wasnt included
Love your honesty play good video with something different, loved it
Hey mate, great video! I’ve noticed on some shots near the cushion you’re cue wasn’t parallel to the table, did you do this for spin or do you find it better to do it this way?
Crazy that 3 years later and that Alex Higgins' brown is still the hardest shot that you've played
I think it pretty much is
Love the channel I think you are brilliant regards Howard from Cyprus 🎉🎉
Any proper snooker clubs in Cyprus?
ronnie's canon on the first shot is an absolute eye pleasing shot, only to miss his very next shot lol
i remember u have tried the Alex Higgins backspin 3 cushions shot in the past and same result now
That Higgins brown is as much about timing as it is cue power, to him it looks effortless which is crazy. Met him and worked with him a few times and I miss players like him, and so many others' dash and panache around a table, proper entertainers.
A question here for you, do you actually play for a team? Your level is very high. I wondered if you knew how many tonne + brakes you have made to date or have you lost count?
Thanks 👍🏼
Amazing player
That Meo shot is INSANE.
I’m sure when you have a new cloth fitted these shots will be easier to recreate .Hainsworth match with table heaters turns snooker into a completely different game and you won’t have to look like a 9 ball player hitting deep power shots .Alex Higgins shot was quite exceptional considering the cloth was heavier and no table heaters ,but the tables even then Were quite quick
Hi mate. Mark Williams is trying to get hold of you on Twitter. He wants to send you some merch. He’s seen the breakdown you did of his cue action. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Have you ever seen the exhibition of Higgins and John Virgo with the pink down the cushion and the black into the middle with one hand? Give that a go for me mate
Alex came to my dads local snooker hall to do an exhibition wearing the purple hat, so cool
Thanks I enjoyed this vid but noticed there were no Mark Williams or Shaun Murphy shots. Perhaps you are planning a shot recreation vid dedicated to each of these players?
Also no Dominic Dale. I think he's the only other absence
i'd give that first recreation accuracy even a 10/10
The Higgins shot is 100% down to the table. Your white keeps pace with his up until the black cushion then it slows down after. So it appears something about your cloth is slowing the ball down from that cushion up.
love from Pakistan
try keeping your head still when stroking the cueball
On shot B, did you also try with a lighter cue ball?
Does such a table exist or is it possible to faithfully recreate the table (cloth/nap) Alex Higgins et al competed on back in the day? Otherwise how hard these shots were is purely speculation?
For those who are not snooker geeks, Jimmy White shot took a few attempts to hit that blue.
Was going to say that! Watched that match and I think that was his 3rd attempt.
Can i get a pin too, I am your fan from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Been watching you for 2 years now, always love your contents.
I am from India ❤
Alex Higgins played whilst pissed..... Maybe you would have one try on his recreation
Pls recreate Martin Gould whole frame
Never been this early before
In reference to your cue power, you seem to cue half way down the butt, maybe, and forgive me if I’m wrong, but maybe bring your hand to the bottom of the butt. My old snooker coach always said that if you want to be gentle with a shot bring your hand further towards the front of the cue, and further back for more power.
Alex Higgins played through his hips. Like a boxer
higgins used an ungodly amount of side on that shot
Have you tried the jaw dropping shot from Sean Murphy to not only get out of a snooker but pot the red against Pang welsh open 2023 6 months ago Jimmy White tried it couldnt do it have a go and post it .
I think you have the Q power, but your table just isn't fast nuff. :) Greetings from Switzerland.
Should spray the cue ball with silicone spray, that should give you more draw
In fairness White's shot on the jaw also took him a couple of attempts (3 I think)
Hi, how do i communicate to you privately
Have you ever had to replace the cloth on your snooker table?
Where is Ronnie's left handed last red in a maximum? 😮
Shot C was at least a 9.5/10 for accuracy, you’re too harsh on yourself!
Have you done Shaun Murphy's jaw rattle up the table down the table red to middle?
Btw I'm in Zielona Gora, Poland ! :)
can i get a pin ....from pakistan
Really confusing title
Yeah doesn’t make sense really
Fred Davis' miss in the 1983, not difficult to reproduce but it's not how Fred wanted to end his great career. I'm surprised there was nothing from Perrrie Mans although most of his long pots need a lot of power
I thought Alex Higgins played that shot with a little more side relative to your attempt. I know it would still be tough on slower cloths but maybe that makes it a touch more manageable?
I agree.. bottom right I think.
The Higgins double is immense especially if you consider he also held the white for the black
My favourite 2 shots are definitely
No 1, jimmy whites amazing pink
No 2, Alex higgins brown to blue
How about you break from Life ??
Where is Dennis Taylor's famous brown in the deciding frame
Where's Jimmy's extreme topspin dead stop pink?
Dude, change the title to "Timeless Snooker Shots Recreated". The title as it is doesn't make any sense.
Should have shown STEPHEN LEE attempting to eat a salad…. that was tough for him!
those shots are easier with pro-grade cloth and cushions, as you know lol
Great idea keep these coming
Kyling lol. Kyllingburger means chicken burger 😂
Definitely deserve more for your Trump attempt ... as for Alex, well.. there'll never be another.. why don't you have a go at the couple of shots he did in the little exhibition with JV.. that pink down the cush and a tight one handed black to center 😅😅
No shot from Stephen Lee?
Just because Stephen Lee got a harsh sentence that's not a good reason to boycott his videos.
@@johndean4765 agreed, I mean that guy has unreal cue power, no player today can even come close to that guy when it comes to cue action.
Have a go at Alex Higgins's Pink and "Black one handed" finish againt Jihn Virgo in their private match, and drink at one third of what Alex had drunk😂😂❤
Alex higgins shot no so difficult. Its tough because your cueing cannot generate power as it is. Personally you dont have cue power cueing, you look so struggle when require any cue power shot. In tournament or competition, you need to have natural cue power, thats why ronnie didnt show his cue power, because he also dont have that ability.
Try getting it first go
Maybe not so difficult on a modern championship table but back then incredibly hard. In fact I'd say Higgins was pretty much the only player who could have played that shot.
@@hertor8803 yep he was pure entertainment
@@hertor8803 but compare to that 80s and 90s, cueball was lighter back then compare to this era, with 1G specification.
@@jonanthony6078 my cue action tend to be like ronnie, with centre hit and adjust a little bit for side, easier for cueball control but less cue power. Ive seen a lot of player with this alex cue power, and its more like judd and robertson cueing, but nothing special about that. At last, cue ball control, consistent of half table and 3 quarter shot and long shoot is more important, distinguish us between beginner, amateur and the pro.
Looks like your table is slow, that's probably why it's so difficult for you.
-1 for each attempt on recreation?
Even with ya light cheated white you couldn't recreate Alex higgins
You mean the cloth the cue ball weights around the same as it did when Hingis played that shot.
@@MikeBarratt-lk3gt no he used a white that is a few grams lighter than the other balls.
