Hook: 1X-fine dry-fly hook (here a TMC100), sizes 16-20.
Thread: 70 Denier or 6/0, black.
Body segments: Black and brown Australian possum dubbing, mixed.
Hackle: Dark dun or black hackle, trimmed top and bottom.

I used this fly on Tuesday and caught 10 fish. My spinner only caught 3 that day. Wanted to watch this video because, my three fur ants that I tied two were lost. One to the tree (I it moved) the second, was too far into the mouth of the fish.

I fish ants dry. use floatant and a dead drift on streams. usually when all else fails I'll tie on a ant and I'll find something

does march brown dubbing work?
ttterence I would stick with black or reddish brown (cinnamon). I don't think I've ever seen an ant the color of a march brown. Matt G
