I just finished watching this Soviet panther tank. As always your work does earn my greatest respect as brush printing is concerned. 🎉🎉🎉

Been wanting to see if brush painting was possible without investing in an airbrush and glad to see it is. I don't have too much room to paint a model if I have to so rather just do this method plus I don't think you have to worry too much about particles in the air if you brush where airbrush you probably would. Thanks for the videos been watching a few of them and they are really cool to see the process from start to finish.

Thank you. It’s great to hear that my videos have been helpful. And yeah brush painting can be tedious at times, but it’s satisfying and fun to enjoy the process. Best of luck with it. :-)

For a 1975 kit, this still looks pretty good. Another classic 70's kit that aged really well is the Panzer 2 from Tamiya in the DAK. Also, your zimmerit was pretty good imo. The real stuff was always messy, and the waffle-style found on panthers seems a lot easier to apply.
I also concur with the varnish statement. I accidentally flooded a model with matte finish varnish from Tamiya and it cracked my model air paint. It is a neat little accidental texture, but it is easy to damage paint if crackly textures aren't what you're going for.
Something I don't think you give yourself enough credit for is your tool and detail painting. I was a bit distracted during some parts of the video admiring the tools on the side, especially the shovel and its holder. It looks really realistic. The accessories on the back, especially the wooden crate are really well done and interesting to look at too.
Since you really enjoy weathering, a tip I picked up from Uncle Night Shift is applying satin varnish on the freshest muddy bits. It find it to really bring out the wet mud from the dryer mud I apply on my own models. It would be worth a try to test it out on an unseen bit of a model to see if it's what you want first.
Overall, this was a really impressive model. I think your work really benefitted from the lack of molded detail. Those old Tamiya kits are weathering playgrounds. Thanks again for sharing your work with us, as this was a really entertaining video to watch!

Your input and honest comment is nothing short of amazing. I can’t appreciate your feedback and compliments anymore than you’ve given me credit to my work. Also I like how you paragraphed this comment into a digestible read, it was very nicely done. lol. But thank you for the kind words and support. :-)

I like the way you encourage beginners to go batshit crazy and do what we want but not what we were told to do (that's how i feel). And achieve such an amazing result with 47 year old 22 dollar underdetailed beginner kit without an airbrush or some weird techniques.
    Anyway great result as always.
Cheers, and may the force be with you.

Yeah I’m always trying to show how you can paint your models with just a few limited tools. Using paints that you may only need for simple weathering and for your color schemes. But I’m glad you liked the final result and enjoy my videos. Thank you and may the force be with you.

I think you did a fantastic job on the model! I remember when this kit was issued and it was great at the time but Tamiya has done a much better molds of the Panther. Your channel has inspired me to pick up the paint brush and start painting models again. Thanks for sharing this.

No, thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch and enjoy my videos. It’s so amazing to hear that I’ve inspired you to brush paint your models again and I’m humbled to have a viewer like you say, that I’ve done a fantastic job on my model. I’d also agree that there are better molds of the Tiger II in this day and age. :-)

Thanks man, these old models are fun to experiment with no matter how limited the detail is. They’re also a good price to pick up for lol.

Great work on such a unique model! I do have a suggestion. I know you noticed the zimmerit could have been better, but I think if some zim were removed from the area around the shell impacts, it would drastically help the appearance.

    • @Modkits131
      @Modkits131  2 роки тому +1

Thank you man I appreciate the kind words. There are so many things wrong with this Panther. As well as areas that I’m not 100% satisfied with but what can you do when its already too late. Lol. But yeah I agree with you on the zimmerit paste, it just looks odd to me with the shell impacts and how they have no bits of zimmerit missing around them. Thanks. :-)

Beautiful finish, and with a really unique style. It feels a bit...dieselpunk? Have you done any sci-fi models? Anyways, great video!

Wow! Funny seeing you here man. I really appreciate the compliments muh friend. Sorry I couldn’t reply to you sooner, the time zone difference wouldn’t allow it lol.
The only sci-fi models I’ve done are the Star Wars Death Star and Star Destroyer. Also interesting you said the tank is sort of diesel punk in a way. Hah now you’ve given me the idea of a diesel themed vehicle in the future.
      Thank you.
