Nah, he definitely sent a few shots at Cole on that Future shit bro. He just sent more and most at Drake.

Also, a theory. The song is called 7 Minute Drill, the song is 3:32 long the other half is waiting for Kendrick. Mark this in stone. Another 3:28 is locked and loaded.
You might be on to something 🤧🤔
Coook!!!!
Hol on bro, you cookin right now.
that's a dope idea but Cole does a 7 minute writing drill. so I personally take it as he wrote in in 7 minutes but I could be wrong

100% agree. Kendrick 1st, JID 2nd
Lu looks goofy asl now
Cole should never bring up being the best ever again. He had his time to prove it and folded.
Egg on face. Ant basically said trashing Kendrick's catalogue isn't believable and Cole just proved it.
Did y'all even listen to the song?
Cole said it's a warning shot, Kendrick sent warning shots first
This is Cole trying to figure out if Kendrick is really ready to go to war with him or it's just shots
Put emotions aside, both are my top rappers but Cole's my favorite.
Kendrick will definitely respond, then Cole will drop his own response.
This is what the culture needs, guess we're never getting that collab album haha.
Watch people skip my response and still respond out of emotion
Saying it's a warning comes across as an admission the diss is mid. It should have been left unsaid, you know, like in Kendrick's bait.

I think he should’ve gone a little harder but he is definitely testing the waters to see if Kendrick will double down so that he can actually throw shots. He basically says that in the verse anyways.
J Cole basically compiled things that are said about kendrick on social media that don't really have long term duration and impact, and are not things that Cole himself believes. I honestly think Cole might not be realizing how serious this beef might be and is taking it too lightly...Its like when a person tries to convince themselves that the dude in front of them fixin his pants sizing him up is a threat so they smile and laugh trying to act like its no big thing and then they get knocked out...seen that many times in my life

"The rap beef ain't realer than the shit I seen in Cumberland
He averagin' one hard verse like every thirty months or somethin'
If he wasn't dissin', then we wouldn't be discussin' him" that's what hit the most fo me
"If he wasn't dissin the we wouldn't be discussing him"
Doesn't make sense since cole mentioned Kendrick twice prior to the diss. Fps and heavens ep
Heavens ep he basically was like yea I'm 3rd
but.....what does the shit he seen in cumberland have to do with anything,...it's reported he averagin one HEART verse like every thirty months or something, when jcole has pretty much released the same amount of music as kendrick up until recently,....if he wasn't dissin then we wouldn't be discussin him (reported to have said nothin) but cole is who said kendrick is apart of the big 3 so he basically put kendrick in that discussion literally on his own,......and since we talking about what cole said, cole even said at one point he feels like kendrick was a bit ahead of him, so when kendrick dropped control or was ahead of everyone else like jcole said why didn't jcole do this then, it's really like cole shot himself in the foot on this song.

@@LarryHoov

@@johnhabashy9629nigga it was weak Kendrick shit was a diss to drake and a warning shot for Cole and Cole put out the weaker warning shot
It's funny that he told no lies because he's talking about the public's perspective and not necessarilly his own. And hip hop is competitive so I love to see it. I think this was the perfect tone.
I have to remind myself there’s a lot of younger Hip-Hop commenters sharing their opinions on this back and forth, even the hosts themselves.
‘Arms too short to box with God’ isn’t a short diss. It’s referencing a frequently used bar, I believe originated by Nas on ‘You’re The Man’ - which basically translates into ‘You’re out of your depth / punching above your weight’. A clear reference to the ‘Ether’ era, where he later remixes Jay-Z’s bar from ‘The Takeover’ - “4 albums in 12 years nigga, I can divide…’ Everything about this response is coldly calculated.
Also some nuances being missed calling this a mid diss. It wasn’t scathing, it wasn’t overly violent - instead he very calmly and clinically discredited Kendrick’s character, integrity, and lyrical ability. He little bro’d big bro. Watched Kenny’s prime and now ascended to his own, to the point he feels dispatching K Dot would be like ‘swatting a fly’. Zero respect to the concept of Kenny even being a threat. That’s not mid. This is J Cole’s declaration of war to a guy just weeks ago he honoured as part of the ‘Big 3’. A subtle but clear line in the sand, drawn in blood.
Lastly, this idea that any compliment on a diss track automatically means that rapper is being nice or is soft - is like saying jabs aren’t as important as haymakers. It actually demonstrates more skill and cunning to openly praise your opponents and highlight their strengths in one breathe, and take their life in another. That’s what cold killers do.
Of course there was a lot of filler - Kendrick’s discography being called mid by Cole, when he’s arguably dropped 3 classics with one of the best collections in Hip-Hop history, while Cole’s most cohesive project only came in the last few years with ‘The Off Season’ - is something I think he’ll come to regret, and easy for Kendrick (and the world) to dismiss.
But, saying no one would be talking about Kendrick if not for the diss, saying Cole only got here by bars and not controversy, and that Dot has to constantly live up to some facade - these are deep personal cuts that Kendrick can’t escape with vague metaphors and subliminals. Cole has made it so that Kendrick HAS to respond with fire - and with the track being called ‘7 Minute Drill’ with a run time of about 3:30, Cole is ready and waiting.
Damn bro, good shit 🍻 and I agree! I would say that, I actually agree with Cole about kdot music and how he described it and I can't get The Love Below out my head when I hear the Big Steppers album! Also, just because k dot have "good to great" albums don't necessarily mean he's "better". It's always quality over quantity for me! Drake out sells them all but he's not as lyrically skilled. A lot of Kdot songs sound poetic/spoken wordish to me.The way YOU broke down Cole shit, makes me feel like he's playing chess and k dot played checkers, this round! Called it 7 minutes but gave him half like now & laters lol! They both are worthy opponents and I can't wait for the next one!

Kendrick did not release a diss track so both Drake and J Cole can’t really go crazy… they all have a diss track ready trust me - rap is a game of chess
Cole dissing Kendrick’s discography like his is any better 😭 “Your second sh’t put people to sleep” 4YEO wasn’t exactly engaging either but Cole fans swear it’s a masterpiece… For Whom The Bell Tolls? Deja Vu? Ville Mentality? She’s Mine Pt. 1 and Pt. 2? FOLDING CLOTHES? 😴😴😴
😂😂🤦🏾 well yeah he just said his reached his prime
when all is said and done its gonna be
Bro trying to diss albums he doesn't even touch
J cole hate is crazy
@@LucinaMeowokay dude lol
You’re not totally listening to the entire project. The shots thrown were on the PI track with Ab-Soul on it
‘He’s not killer trust me, behind he’s chosen identity there’s still a pussy’
He recycled the same shit on pi and on 7 minute drill, just a complete lazy attempt at a warning
he ruined that track lmao
Exactly
People don’t understand a nice guy. J COLE WAS JUST BEING NICE TO KENDRICK.
NIce guys get knocked out
I just lost brain cells trying to listen to this
He lost as soon as the diss track started, you can't say his disco weak and that he been out the game after YOU put him in the "big three" by YOUR own volition. Also starting the diss by saying you loved his first album is an interesting way to go.
i'm saying
THANK YOU! Somebody get it!
He said in the song he respects Kendrick and this isn’t really a full diss you gotta understand that
That's just how Cole is.. Cole will be real with you and give you the respect.. Kendrick probably does respect JCole but he won't say it.. So only one of them is being real here..
cus cole is right
I love cole too but I’m sorry, y’all hyping this reply up just for the clicks or for the desire to instigate soem type of rap beef.
That reply was WEAK asf. Most of the “ harder” bars didn’t even make sense.
“ 4 album in 12 years, nigga I can divide”- this was not only a stolen line from Takeover, but it didn’t even make sense in this context cus cole and Dot have the same number of albums since 2012😂
“ if we wasn’t dissing then we wouldn’t be discussing him”
Oh really cole? Didn’t you give him a free shoutout on FPS even after he dropped his “ worse “ album after being in hiatus for 5 years
Oh and we’re not even gonna entertain him saying TPAB was boring. My dude you got KOD on your discog…
I get it if he said TPAB was boring( I strongly disagree), but if he meant to say GKMC, then that’s a even worse take💀💀. Regardless, 4YEO, which is best project IMO, stil doesn’t even touch Mr Morale, let alone TPAB
so real, he's not even close
Agreed
You chose to spit nothing but facts!!
He meant TPAB, later in the songhe says 4 albums in 12 years which means GKMC TPAB DAMN MMATBS
@@omarjafar846 bro if he meant TPAB, terrible take but I understand why Cole fans found it boring. They think 4YEO had “ depth” .
If he meant GKMC, then that’s a even worse case cus not a single soul on this earth found that album boring 💀
gotta agree with Ant on this.
People need to calm down. this is a warm up. He LITERALLY says "This is just a warning shot"
Both are barely out of second gear at this point so we got a lot to look forward to from both ends.
Warning shot or not, we gotta be honest about Cole straight lying throughout the diss lol
The reason Like That hit harder was cause Kendrick stood on business and it’s hard to disagree with what he said
Kendrick stans got wet when Kendrick said. "Its just big me"
facts 😂😂😂
And j cole stands are loosing their mind about a love letter lmao
Lol 😂
I did tbf can’t lie
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was a good diss, but as Cole said it was a warning shot Its very obvious that bro wasn't trying very hard, if he was that conductor beat would've been playing from the jump.
@DailyDoseAfrica he said that on a hype trap song lmao. Also even Muhammad Ali took it easy a few times and took a loss or almost took a loss. It's literally a warning shot more than likely because cole has never had any ill will towards kendrick and there weren't any disses fully aimed at him. If that changes he will more than likely drop another song with more heavy handed responses.
Thoughts on whether Cole was scared of the Kendrick response? ...or is it just the fact it ain't in his nature, he about peace not war
I think he got pressed and put out a quick response that back fired on him. I really think he got mixed into this beef it really isn’t about cole vs kendrick it’s really drake vs kendrick based off the old beef.
Coming at Kendric's catalogue, calling TPAB mid and MMATBS tragic, rang so hollow even Cole didn't believe it.
@AidanDotDash that sounds like what it is. Kind of wish he'd never dropped 7MD now. Kinda like Ali backing down after talking up big against a Tyson type during the face off
@@freedommyeah no one was convinced about that ay
This is why I love hip hop. We’re witnessing history now. Y’all better take a seat and enjoy it instead of being serious on who’s better
Kendrick did way more in 1 min, response was really weak
He just baiting Kendrick
The real diss is still on hold
"fuck the big 3, its just big me" yeah super hard bar. Stop the cope, they both did good lol
Bro kdot did 2 lines about cole.
@@playfulshop cole did good, Kendrick shocked the culture. Love cole, but 3:30 of claiming his catalog is better (untrue) is a little lame and disingenuous.
You kendrick fans have to stop the glazing 😭😭😭

He iced his shit already on a warning shot.

@@adrianascalon3339 Cole tried to diss TPAB 😭 that album is better than Cole’s whole catalog. Ni**a BUM!
@Alexcasquinha Actually I think he dissed Good Kid Mad City because don't forget section 80 is Kendrick's first album.
🧢
“We waited 3 days NFR where yall at” 😂
After hearing the diss I realized I don’t actually want to see Kendrick vs Cole tbh. Kendrick vs Drake would be better. Feel like Cole is saying stuff he don’t actually believe and comes off disingenuous idk. The song was good though but I doubt Cole actually believes TPAB was boring or he only dissing because he needs attention. Kendrick vs Drake would be more genuine and entertaining imo. I’d prefer a Cole and Kendrick project and them trying to out rap each other than a battle between them
I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't feel like Cole even believes what he's saying.
@@freedomm exactly it’s just off to me. If Drake said those lines they would have hit harder because I think Drake would actually believe it, Cole just saying it because it’s something to say but I don’t think he actually thinks that stuff is true so I’d rather them just try to out rap each other instead. Like Black Friday that would be better imo
This is a money grab for him especially since he put an album out . He’s just taking the opportunity at this point
@@witkneemenyon5612 idk about a money grab but I do lowkey feel like he couldn’t drop an album without responding after a run of years saying he the best when another dude you obviously respect and is your tier says he better than you he had to say something as an emcee. There was no way he was dropping an album without addressing it somehow either in the album or before without catching flack imo but I’d still rather them on a song together than diss tracks against each other
Cole can divide but can't count. Kendrick has 5 albums. Also calling TPAB a sleeper is the wildest take ever.
it's hardly wild, its a popular opinion to dismiss TPAB as boring, dense, inaccessible. especially amongst younger rap fans who want more bops. He delivered bops on DAMN, thats why casuals prefer that album over TPAB.
Kendrick himself doesn’t really include section 80 with his albums and it’s kind of a black sheep in general. GKMC is functionally and marketing wise his debut album. You can debate about a lot with this track, especially the tpab line, but not including section 80 as a major Kendrick release isn’t anything wild
@@nameisamineyeah, the writing is immaculately, but if it wasn’t for mmatbs it would probably have the least replayability, especially for casual listening. I mean when’s the last time someone put momma or hood politics on aux? Cole’s line didn’t come from nowhere, it was just a stretch
Cole was already in the studio cooking. Drake was mainly on tour.
So once Drake finishes his tour this weekend...he gotta get in the booth. I give him b4 the end of the month.
drake probably dropping a suprise track/mixtape wen metro n pluto drop their album next week
it took kendrick 6 months to respond to FPS

you talking grammys? Even The Weeknd is boycotting the Grammys lol
They both have great albums, who's better? opinions really.. Some people are going to like DAMN more than TPAB, some are going to love "born sinner" more than Mr. Morale
I was so confused when he was taking aboit the albums because I thought he was taking about the different albums
Best song in section 80 ?
Section 80 is a mix tape
No it’s an album
People gotta realize that they still feeling each other, checking the vibe, they’re barely trying, i hope this duel continues, they gonna drop the best disstracks of all time. It’s 1-1
cole said that it was a warning shot on the diss and mfs actin like he put his heart n soul into it. it was just a good song w some shots on there to see where everyone is at
I hate that he did this, it now gives drake an excuse to not respond or to take his sweet ass time. Not to mention, what poignant thing is drake gonna say that cole didn’t already bring up?
Drake won't even write his own bars who fucking cares. Drake don't want it he knows better 😂
Drake needs no excuse, he was always gonna move on his own time regardless.
This is a promising beginning. While I didn't anticipate a major shift or knockout just yet, I'm certainly intrigued to witness their next moves. Additionally, as someone who isn't a Kendrick fan, I find myself in full agreement with the way he breaks down the albums. Moreover, it's shaping up to be quite a promising beef.
J. Cole sounded uncomfortable on the first beat FOR SURE! He should’ve stuck with the conductor beat.
what
Kendrick stans are hurt, saying this was mid but they went crazy with “it’s just big me” 😂 obviously Cole is not going to give a full response to a verse that was 90% for Drake
he aint gon "give a full response" but he gon dedicate an entire song to dissing him? the math don't add up.
@DailyDoseAfricaBenny the Butcher, Drake, Nicki Minaj, for sure 👍

It’s not a short diss it’s a reference to Nas’ “You’re da man.” He constantly references the Nas and Jay-Z beef.
Cole destroyed kdots like that verse

I wasn't crazy with Kendrick "Like that" verse, but Cole somehow made a more mid and weak response, and you can tell he was coping hard by trying to make a corny argument that Kendrick's discography is weak and TPAB was a snoozefest which is absolutely delusional Imao (even he didn't get the album order right because GKMC it's hes second album and not he's debut album Imao)
