Broad Axe Restoration

Follow along as I restore the vintage Simmons Broad Axe/Hewing Axe. I bought it at a yard sale for $10, which is a great deal! I removed the rust, sharpened it up, and put it on a new hewing axe handle.

It's COHOES, not Ohio. Cohoes is a town in upstate New York. That may be a NOS blade, the poll appears unblemished. Good find! You need to remove the pitting on the flat side to get the best edge. Now you need to learn how to use it. Thanks!

Make sure when you are using cold bluing soultion that you soak it for 12 hours in oil to give it rust protection.
