Grand Theft Auto III is a 2001 action-adventure game developed by DMA Design and published by Rockstar Games. It is the first main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series since 1999's Grand Theft Auto 2. Set within the fictional Liberty City (loosely based on New York City), the story follows a silent protagonist, Claude, who, after being betrayed and left for dead by his girlfriend during a robbery, embarks on a quest for revenge that leads him to become entangled in a world of crime, drugs, gang warfare, and corruption. The game is played from a third-person perspective and its world is navigated on foot or by vehicle. The open world design lets players freely roam Liberty City, consisting of three main islands.

It just a map mod on gta 5 engine. It's hard to create some map using engine than doing actual animations

Гта 3 была моей первой игрой из серии. Затем Вайс Сити, затем Сан Анреас, 4ка, затем 5ка.Гта 3 была одной из моих первых игр и одной из любимых на тот момент. Старые добрые деньки. Рыбалка, школа, подработки, комп, гта, крутой Сэм, принц Персии, сталкер, нфс андерграунд 2,аллоды, готика... Эхх

If the Liberty City map mod in GTA 5 had the same or similar dark vibe & atmosphere like the original version of GTA 3 had, it would be much better.

I never realised that Star Junction in GTA IV was a homage to Downtown Staunton Island in GTA III, I always thought it was just based on Time Square as GTA IV was wholeheartedly based on New York.
Never really understood how GTA III's Liberty City was a New York homage because 3's Liberty City felt more unique in my opinion. ☺️💜
If you look hard enough, you'll see similarities as oppoosed to dead on ringers. One of downtown Staunton Island billboards actually says 69th St making fun of 42nd St. That's about as Times Square as it gets. The big burger spot reminds me of when there was a Burger King and McDonald's directly across the street from each other for a couple of years until the Burger King closed
3's LC didnt feel like NYC at all, IV captures that better.

I would hope they add more cars.those look great remastered but the game needs more cars in general.that was 1 of my few complaints about gta 3.not enough cars

My opinion on why the definitive edition sucked was because Nintendo switch. The game was made for the switch and then scaled to consoles
The switch version is also not buggy like the other versions. I played on switch and i rarely got a big or glitch

I appreciate your effort, but sorry this does nothing for GTA 3 fans - throwing in GTA IVs map, some enb changes and graphics mods does not preserve the original art direction and feel of the game. This looks like it lacks soul and inspiration
It’s just the GTA iV map with 4K(ish) graphics! It feels like a GTA iV remake and nothing at all like GTA 3. Doesn’t even feel slightly like it. The best you have are the definitive editions. They are the original map, game etc with improved the best we have available and will ever have available BTW.
