My 4th grade class used to have them and yes we would fight so at the beginning of the day we had a chart and put our number on the seat then each number house firs and we get to switch the order every day
Awww, your so pretty! It seems like you really love your job and your kids. My fourth grade teacher did this stuff too. It made me love her even more. Also my core class teachers in 6th grade do this and it’s AMAZING. For you teachers that don’t do this I think you should really look into it. It makes your students in a better mindset for class and also makes us more comfortable.
I love your channel! You’re so sweet and you shine such a light! I’m a preservice teacher and your channel has def inspired me for my future classroom! ❤️
Thank you! :) They helped me purchase some of it (desks, a few yoga balls, and the big black armchairs). The rest I got funded from Donor's Choose (the majority came from here!), donations from a few parents who offered, and then I bought the rest on Offer Up and Craigslist!
I have had diagnosed back problems since fourth grade. I super appreciate the chairs with backs especially since I can't sit on anything else for and extended period of time without excruciating pain!
this is definitely great i realized in high school one of my classes my teacher let’s us sit where we want and we all choose different seats almost each time and it’s really helps
I absolutely love your classroom set up, I’ve never experienced flexible seating in any of the classrooms I’ve worked in. Could you tell me the pros and cons of flexible seating, I’m interested in giving this a try in the classroom I am currently in.
Hi Rachel! That's so awesome that you are thinking about trying it! For me, the pros have far outweighed the cons. In my room, pros: students are more focused, can get their wiggles out, are constantly moving throughout the day, they have choice and voice in the classroom, they take pride in the classroom, they feel autonomy, they are comfortable, they work harder, they know it can be taken away so they are extremely respectful of it. Cons: if you don't have funding it can be expensive (but I would try Donor's Choose!), some kids can't handle certain spots like the yoga balls and it can be frustrating to have the materials used wrong or broken. That's all I can think of right now. I hope you give it a try! :)
Wow, I wish we had a week break right about now. How many days do the students go to school for the year? When do you start/end school? I truly feel like I need to do flexible seating bc more and more kids just can’t sit in desk and chair and focus long enough. Their brains and bodies are different now then when I was school due to more time on electronics at home and less time playing outside or some type of activity. Anyway, what would you suggest me starting off with? How much does it cost to keep flexible seating going bc of repairs or replacing? Our school will not fund it and have to get approval from the board to do a donors choose. I’ll take any and all advice! I enjoyed watching!
Good to know! We use a program called ActivInspire to annotate over lessons and I'm not sure it's compatible on a Chromebook - keeping my fingers crossed!
Hi I am english and in English they provide it all for us and we can’t really change it that much. In America do you get extra money to purchase this stuff and are they’re limits. Also are all classrooms like yours Xx
Hi Aaron! I keep materials I will need for upcoming lessons, my planner that I fill out with students, and random supplies that I don't know where else to put haha!
Hello 3rd Grade Jess I think u just need to kinda be u and pic what is best for the children bec at the end of the day as long as they like it all is good xox love ya vids
Do you have the problem of students fighting over who gets to sit where?
Yeah I wonder
She has said that wasn’t a problem. The students are very clear on switching seats
My 4th grade class used to have them and yes we would fight so at the beginning of the day we had a chart and put our number on the seat then each number house firs and we get to switch the order every day
Just a thought. Maybe put the big teal chairs that are in the very front I front of the tall desks!?!
I am in 6th grade wish the schools I have been to had seating like this. By the way I am in my 3rd school
Kirsten Stew that’s doesn’t make any sense
@@queenbee12347 I am currently a,student in my third school and in all of the grades I haven't had a class with flexible sitting
“Becoming” is Awesome! I really like your classroom setup.
Hey, Jess! I’m excited to see the redesign! I’ve been watching your classroom setup and rearrangement all night long this week! ❤️Aaron
You are the sweetest! Congrats on your recent graduation, Aaron! :)

Hello 3rd Grade thanks!! I need it haha
Love this!! Did your school help you purchase a lot of the seating or how did you incorporate so many great ideas?

Your videos are really fun to watch and i am in 7th grade
Aw, thanks!
Wow this is amazing I wish I couldn’t got this kind of steaming when I was little
yes, you can use a chrome book with a hdmi cord
Good to know! We use a program called ActivInspire to annotate over lessons and I'm not sure it's compatible on a Chromebook - keeping my fingers crossed!
@@hellomissromeo it should be compatible with your Chomebook. Most Chromebooks have HDMI ports your student chromebooks should be compatible
I don't think ActivInspire is compatible with Chromebooks - at any rate it wasn't last year, though they may have updated the software since then
@@ruth649 I don't know. Many updates have came out for the Chromebook this *School* year
You make me want to be a teacher and I am only ten years old ❤️💖😁
