    Wow, Beth -- you and your husband walked right by my home. You should have knocked on my door so I could have gotten you both something cool to drink on a warm summer day in Black Mountain, NC.
    You could also do a whole segment on Black Mountain College where some of the great artists and philosophers and thinkers of the 20th Century taught and created and collaborated, but that wouldn't be much of a real estate segment as I don't believe there are many homes in that area on the market.
    And, yes, home prices in Black MTN are just about at Asheville level, and like most of Buncombe County, not a whole lot of single family homes on the market, at least for now.

      Did we really? Oh that is so funny you should’ve hollered at us. Everyone in Black Mountain is so incredibly friendly and seems to know each other so well. Yes, great idea about black Mountain College. It’s hard to remember to include everything but will do it next time.

    As a Swannanoa resident (which doesn't really have a downtown), I have to admit I spend more time in Black Mountain than I do in Asheville.

    Wonderful..........I think, regarding Asheville area tourism maybe, it needs to be emphasized that the Appalachian Mnts are some of the oldest mountains in the world with some of the associated rocks 1.2 billion years old and at one time as tall as the Rockies. The French Broad River is considered one of the oldest rivers in the world often cited as the third oldest river globally, after the Nile in Egypt and the New River in North Carolina/Virginia.

      Oh my goodness, yes! I say this all the time and people never believe me that these are some of the oldest mountains in the world. I think they are so absolutely beautiful and majestic.

    Love this. Thank you it’s on my list to look at. Looks like a great place to live. Looking for affordable place with arts, music, breweries, living near Asheville. I’m an artist looking to move March 2025.
    Thank you for your videos. Much appreciated 😊

    She didn't come right out and say it...but... don't even think about moving here unless you're income exceeds 250k - 300k/yr. Otherwise, I recommend Morganton, a little further East.

      That’s a bit up there but definitely have funds to enjoy yourself. There are less expensive options all around- check out all the videos I made about the smaller areas too, that is why I do them.

    How easy is it to purchase about an acre lot in Asheville, and build a 1,300-1,700sq ft home? Is there land left? Restrictions? Red tape? Etc. Thanks and keep up the great work!

    • @livinginasheville
      @livinginasheville  Місяць тому

      It’s possible but you’d need advice on location. It can end up costing a bit more to build than to buy.

    Hey Beth, love your content and have been binge watching your channel. Do you know of any town that has good diversity?
    I know Asheville has that (visited this year). But what about the surrounding towns/cities? I’m Asian and am interested in knowing what other places have a diverse population and some good restaurants!

    • @livinginasheville
      @livinginasheville  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you so much for the kind words about thecontent. We really enjoy putting it out there. I wish I had more to report about Western North Carolina and how diverse it is, but it’s just not so much. Asheville is going to be the most diverse and then probably Hendersonville. It depends on your style and vibe in particular but some of the smaller towns might be a little sleepy for you. Happy to explore the options.
