    I think your lifestyle is exactly why we all love watching. It’s fascinating to those of us who don’t live like you. There will always be keyboard warriors who will criticise everything but like someone else said perhaps it’s time to start blocking people. We all take more note of negativity than the nice stuff so remind yourself about that too. Love your vlogs just as they are. Thanks for taking time to do it xx

    Alot of other youtubers just warn you one time and if you get rude after that they block you. That might be what you need to do. Life's hard enough without you having to deal with negativity and rude people.

      I think I like to understand that our way isn't the way for everyone, and try and be polite and realise that, because its fine that not everyone would choose this, and I'm happy to have constructive criticism! But yeah, I prob need to be a little more proactive in just getting rid of people who come back to be negative :D

      I like the way one UA-camr put it (I forget who now), they group the “negative” comments into whether the person means well by it or if they’re truly just being rude/negative.
      I’d like to close off with I think you’re great, even if there’s moments where i may not do something the same (I live in Canada, challenges I face completely different) I still appreciate and learn from all the things you do

      Happy Sunday. Loved this video!!!!!! It’s nice to see some of what you do during the day. I’m also excited that there may be more videos than normal ❤.
      I agree with others that you may need to block some that are being especially rude. Some just don’t have filters 😂. I keep saying do you !! Hope you have an amazing week. Sending love to you and your family ❤

      Nyssa, I loved everyone of your videos first off, but I must say I am in love with today's style. I really enjoying the noise of your everyday life. It makes me feel like sitting in a friend's kitchen watching them do their thing. I completely understand if you don't keep doing them if you don't like it or have the time, I just wanted you to know it LOVED it. The haters can just keep stepping. Thumpers mom said it best, "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!"... can't wait for your next video lady. ❤❤

      Hey nyssa I think people who are rude have way to much time in their hands to spend it criticising someone else cause their probably not happy InTheir own lives . They’re called keyboard warriors! ❤don’t listen !! Don’t give them the satisfaction they want! I can’t wait for the shopping trip super excited 🎉🎉have a fabulous safe week ahead ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

You are totally amazing and I'm constantly in aw of you and all you do while home schooling so many kids. I home schooled one for 3 years and no way did I cook and bake and meal plan like you can. Good Day Nyssa. I hope you're having a fabulous day. And you are a real person with real life happening. Just do what you can and it will all sort itself out. Ignore the haters if you can. They are, in my opinion, unhappy people who feel a need to criticize. Sad but inevitable.

    Nyssa, love the long video. People behind keyboards say many things they would not say in person, they must have small lifes. Keep up the videos , life is imperfect and real and I love you show this , I see the “perfect” channels and who could keep up with that level of clean and organization??? Not many people. Have a blessed week. ❤Cindi

    Hey Nyssa, your garden is coming along pretty good. Our squash plants took off and was covered in young squash. The next day when I went to pick some I found them covered with squash bugs. They started at the base of the plants and killed them all . I so wanted to open my chicken coop and send in all of my flock. My hubby said no,he said they will destroy the rest of the garden. We never use poison so, we just grow more in hopes we can get a few for dinner. Always something happening. Good luck with yours 🤣 TFS!!!!❤

    Living in a caravan and cooking outside and having a “kitchen“ set up in a shed, I have resigned myself to the fact there will always be dust and grime. I wipe and wash things regularly and then when I go use things they always need to be cleaned again. People must think I don’t keep things clean as well! 😂 I know different though! I know exactly how you feel Nyssa. PS don’t get started on the flies 😜

      I am so looking forward to having some cupboards that close so I don't have to wash a pot before I use it because its on open shelves lol, but at the same time, the outside of said cupbaords are going to always look grubby too! hehe, I know that my actual cooking equipment is clean, nobody is getting sick from my kitchen, but it can still be frustrating :D

      We have issues with water to that garden atm again *sigh* the pump we were using blew a seal and we haven't fixed it, so we have to use the battery operated pump and it has no pressure tank on it, so you can't stop and start it, once its on, its running, I should have filled a watering can though and done as you said, I will have to remember next time!
      hehe, I've started using some 'protective' hair styles lately, because I was losing so much hair (hoping the diet helps too) so I have a four pronged comb that I use to keep my hair up without putting strain on it, it has made it much easier to keep it undercontrol, though it is only a bun that I always wear now hehe.

    Meals look great as usual 😊
    Seriously don't get the negatively around lately, I mean it's out of control. It doesn't matter whether it's online or in person, a lot of people just seem so self righteous and self absorbed and entitled and this in turn leads to them thinking abusive messages on someone's channel is a perfectly fine thing to do. It blows my mind!!

You taught me how to make dutch baby pancakes and I don't think I would have ever gotten around to making my own bread if it wasn't for you. I am also enjoying this new way of recording you are starting to do. I have said this before, I absolutely love your voice. It is so soothing. I’ve recently watched a vlog by someone with over half a million subscribers. The lady lives in an immaculate, show home-worthy “aesthetically pleasing” house, her children are dressed and presented like little Next models, she never has a hair out of place herself, is always fully made up and beautifully dressed…but she still gets hate on a regular basis. My point being that these people are not criticising because of you or your lifestyle or your choices, they are doing it because they find it impossible to believe that anyone could do things differently to THEM - since they are obviously doing it right, and everyone who doesn’t follow their example is just wrong. I think it’s great that you are not the sort of blogger who constantly needs your ego massaging in order to continue, and that you understand that engagement is the important thing - not the content of that engagement. Reality is a rare commodity in internet land and we love how real you are, that’s why we keep watching.

    • @OurSmallFootprint
      @OurSmallFootprint  17 днів тому +1

      Yes, totally, everybody gets hate for whatever reason, and I keep telling myself that, I am very thick skinned, so most of the time it just rolls off, but I think I was just thinking about what was holding me back and why and realised that the problem was those few snippets of negativity were really throwing me, and I had to get past it, and do what I was doing anyway! which is why I was going to use vlogmas to push that, to try and realise that I was alwyas going to get some negativity about something, and you are totally right, most of the judgement is purely because 'they wouldn't want to live like we do, etc'
      and is their own personal bias!

    Your zucchini plants look amazing. I hope you get some useable zucchini out of them. I cut off all but one male flower on each plant to encourage female flowers. I’ve tried hand pollination but by this time the bug has made its home in the stem and the fruit goes soggy. I still pick unpollinated fruit and cut them up and use them. It’s amazing what you’ll eat that you grew yourself that you would never pay good money for.

    In Alberta Canada I noticed this summer there were very few bees. I have lavender plants that are usually covered in bees and it was only in the fall that i saw a little bee activity. I finally called quits on trying to keep up with the weeds. I pulled out the weed wacker, since the lawn mower doesn't fit between the beds, and it now looks like short green grass between the beds. Much easier than pulling the darn things.

The other is because you are always smiling even though things do not always go right for you. Some people like to feel superior, and they do that by putting other people down, just block them. Happy Sunday, Nyssa! I appreciate any content you share. I love your place, your life and your family. It's bothersome that "people" (AKA Trolls) comment with no regard to anyone's feelings. The saying "Hurt people, hurt people" comes to mind. They are pathetic and it's a reflection of their lives.
    Scary about the lack of bees. The plants look so healthy (leaves). I'm planning my garden for spring - it's winter here in the US.

    You can can milk and cream and make it uht. I like it waterbathed the best. To me it tastes the freshest. 1 hour waterbath. If you pressure can it, it only has to come up to pressure, then you turn it off and let it cool down. But I find that it changes the flavour too much.

    • @OurSmallFootprint
      @OurSmallFootprint  13 днів тому +1

      We don't get it too cheap often and the UHT pricing is pretty cheap in comparison, so I could buy UHT, but I'm not a huge fan of the flavour tbh, I might give it a go just to see how diff the canning flavour is to the prebought UHT as an experiment, but yeah, I'm a bit fussy :S

    WOW! I love this style of vlog!!! It seems like this would be less time consuming on the back end for you too! I hope you find that you like doing it this way. As far as the negative people go, you need to just ignore them. Some people are just very unhappy and like to make everyone around (near or far) the same way. I even read that sometimes that it's a bot that makes these hateful comments. I follow someone on facebook that kept shutting down his page because of all the hateful comments. He found out that it was bots! So, maybe you can just pretend all the nastiness are all bots and just ignore them! Worth a try!

      I generally just let it slide off me, but I was contemplating and reflecting on why I was finding the vlogging so hard and think about it and I do think that was part of it, that I was more concerned about those negatives than I had been in that first year.
