Not a Texas Tech fan, just wanted to point out they are destroying good teams. The last RPI before the tournament had Michigan #11 in the country, Buffalo #10 and Gonzaga #8. They were all top 20 teams in both polls (I think they were all in the top 16). Texas tech didn't squeak by them, THEY BLASTED EVERYBODY until this game. They've been the most dominant team in the tourney so far & it's not close.

I'm thinking Texas Tech has as good a chance as anybody to go on and win it all. They are hot right now. I'm a Buffalo fan. Before the Buffalo v Texas Tech game I liked UBs chances to win. They destroyed us... and it's not because UB wasn't the real deal. THEY WERE. Just like Michigan... DESTROYED. Now they play with Gonzaga all game and get by them. Buffalo, Michigan & Gonzaga were 3 of the top 19 teams in the country at the start of the tournament in all polls and RPI. Tech curb-stomped their way through. Not to mention, Tech has played elite defense all year, but their offense wasn't great until recently. They are firing on all cylinders. I like their chances as much as any team left.
great and honest commentary! i'm from texas. i had 2 chances with tech and houston. i just knew tech had more in the tank and houston was gonna lose to kentucky. tech is the real deal. they held zaga under their avg. they destroyed michigan and held them to all time low in history. the defense is nasty and relentless not to mention intelligent. they are clicking and they could win it all!

Really impressed with TT's interior passing. Nobody showing off, trying to drive and dunk. Just consistently finding the open man under the basket.

im a gonzaga student. texas tech deserved that win, they shot like crazy and they forced the turnovers. im just disapointed because I just want to see mark few win it, that man has done so much for my school and the community in spokane. he can never catch a break and it just breaks my heart

I’m from Bloomington, In the home of Indiana University. For what it’s worth, I must say Gonzaga has one of the most admirable basketball programs. You have every reason to be proud of Gonzaga.

Every year Few seems to fail with a lack of a game plan. There were lots of issues. but Texas Tech was more disciplined and they were able to play their game.
I didnt see an urgency in the Zags when it was needed. I dont know why they stopped going to Rui and Clarke down low more. Overall, half of the turnovers were self inflicted and that was the main reason they lost.
Been a recurring theme with tech wins this March..... Self inflicted losses and all?????

Seemed like the refs didn't make a lot of calls against texas tech. They were extremely aggressive causing turnovers that could've been fouls
I'm sad that zags lost, but that's why I want them to do their best on the next stage
At 3:23 we here he had 4 blocks at that point in the game. Wish they would have shown more of that. And at 4:01 it is a 2 point game with 11 seconds left. Then suddenly we are shown Tech inbounding the ball with a 6 point lead and 2.2 seconds left. Seems highlight worthy to me to show how they carved out that margin.

Well, I would have liked to have seen Duke peresevere. That said, this Texas Tech team reminds me of some of the great Bob Knight led I.U. Teams. In this, I mean really good coaching and smart team oriented players. We’ll see...?

Pause it at 3:21 and you'll see that Tech stepped out of bounds before he grabbed the ball. The "amazing play of the game" was a missed call by the refs. Should've been Gonzaga ball with 58 seconds to play. Instead, Zags had to foul.

josh smith you clearly Don't know the rules. He'd have had to come back inbounds reestablished possession and Then jumped to get the ball back. Obviously that didn't happen. In fact the after game analysts Kellogg, Smith and Barkley had a rules guy on who said it was a blown call, period. Also not reviewable.
Ward Smith I just watch this game in an alternate universe. They got that call correct over there. Tech still won.
In most cases, even good teams from weak conferences will get exposed in the tournament.....

It was a great game, well played by both teams.
Gonzaga being overrated isn’t what I took away from this game at all. Both teams played great, and Tech had been unreal good in the tournament up until today. This game was awesome, Gonzaga is a great team, Tech just happened to win.
You clearly didn't watch the game. Gonzaga lost because of self-inflicted turnovers.

I'm a Buffalo fan but what team has been more dominant this tournament than Texas Tech? Through 4 games their average margin of victory is 15 points AND WITH ARGUABLY THE HARDEST SCHEDULE. The last RPI rankings before the tourney had Michigan #11, Buffalo #10 & Gonzaga #8 in the country.
Gonzaga was great this year... but if they played in the ACC they would have most likely had 6-8 losses and been a 3 seed.
a nasty defensive team does not win by luck. they destroyed buffalo and michigan. they held zaga well below their season avg. it says something about zaga too. they play in a weak conference.

They held Gonzaga to 69 points. They usually score more than 80 points. They're a nasty defensive minded team with a smart coach, and smart players. They won the Big 12, and weren't expected to do much this season.
